XTM make a 2.5 x 2.5 Awning Tent, to suit this awning & it is a great product.Easy to set-up & a great design with regards to the location of doors & windows.However, I do not see an "Insect Screen Enclosure" available in the range of accessories to suit the awnings, in a similar design to the tent, with the floor included.Which would be a product that I would definitely buy if it was available - something to be considered for all of the awning range.

Recently bought one of these for a trip to the Flinders, One night we had heavy rainfall for about an hour, there we were sitting under the awning watching a movie on the TV. nothing got wet and we had the time of our lives. Very much recommend for those that enjoy tenting (like we do) you will not regret the purchase, set up is simple - under 2 minutes with two people. We Roll under to fold up as this removes any debris from trees that may of landed on the awning and it also removes 90% of water from the top. Ensure you peg down as a light breeze can lift it, very little affect on fuel ecomomy, simple to install. Purchasing from SuperCheap was easy. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable and took the time to briefly check out our vehicle to ensure a correct fit. Installation wasn't exactly a breeze; there were issues which required time to work through; the major reason is that one size instructions does not fit all cars. But the modifications required were easy enough once the reality of not having a meaningful reference point on the instructions was absorbed. Product is fit for purpose.

This is a good product. I installed it by myself ( used cable tires to hang it up while i screwed it down) and took it to a music festival last week. It held up well , i also installed the sidewall which really helped us double the protected area from the rain.Pros:Looks sturdy enough to last for a while and SuperCheap sells all the spare parts so should be easy to fix something if broken.Easy to install.Cons:Water pools in the middle of the awning just like any other 4wd awning. You may pitch it with one side lower to prevent this but it may shorten the lifespan. Not this products fault , all awnings are the same.The brackets that comes with it doesn't directly fit into Rhino Pioneer rack. I needed to buy some extra parts to fix it.

Have read some reviews from others that the poles are flimsy, but the first day I had out on the beach with it was a windy day, 30-40km/h winds all day and with the tie ropes secured with sand pegs it was rock solid all day, no sign of the poles bending. So the yes, the poles are pretty light weight but they're strong enough to do the job. If the wind was any stronger you wouldn't be out sitting under an awning anyway. Advertised as containing all required mounting hardware, the brackets are fine but the supplied nyloc nuts don't actually fit in the slide channels in the back of the awning, being too thick to actually fit in the channel. Haven't put this through it's paces yet; only a couple of occasions and no extreme wind conditions. But I'm very happy with the product. Goes well on the side of the ute without standing out too much with loud coloured lettering. Handy for shade for purposes other than camping too. Not too hot either. I made sure to use proper sand pegs for this when at the beach though - I don't imagine it surviving too well in high wind without some good anchors. Plenty of shade for 2 mates and myself having some lunch at Bribie island with a table; without needing to sit so close to the car that we would have issues with opening the doors.
Reasonably easy to setup and pack away. It rained a few days while away first use. It repelled the water at first, then it soaked in after the first day of rain. Water run off as expected but did drip through in some sections. It rained on 3 none consecutive days of the 6 i was away. And each time it reacted the same way. All in all I was impressed by how it handled all elements. Sun, wind, rain.
Very easy to install, I added two extra brackets as they had spare bolts. After a few attempts I YouTubed how to assemble. Best way I reckon is raise the awning out of the way and swing the side arms out in readiness to be used shortly. Unfold the awning ( I rolled mine up so it rolls out into my arms) grab a side arm and place in hole, then do the other one. Basically get the frame done first, the legs next. You can preset the pole lengths when packing it all away to drop down to a manageable height/ length next time. Easy to roll back up. My tip; roll material back over the top not under so it UNROLLS into your arms) a good buy.
Awesome product. Canvas feels strong. Super easy to assemble and pack up. Only downfall is that on a windy day at the beach, the awning lifted up and slammed back down on the sand, it resulted in cracking the rubber “grommets?” Connecting the poles to the awning end bar. Still works fine but it’ll get worse in time. I’ve since bought sand pegs and thicker guide ropes to eliminate stretching.
