Yale Assure Keyed Electronic Digital Deadbolt Satin Chrome

I purchased this item after comparing prices via a locksmith whose estimate included installation and totaled about $750. Hard to justify the difference so I viewed some YouTube clips on installation and decided to install it myself. Clear instructions easy to install and set up the software and am delighted with the product and its functionality. Had it installed now for about three weeks. Anyone thinking about the digital lock option should check this product and not be afraid of self-installation if you have basic DIY skills and some suitable tools. An easy to install electronic PIN door lock

It is suppose to replace / retrofit your existing dead bolt - which it does, but it was not a quick straight forward process... I needed to use my electric drill to increase the bolt hole because the existing hole was too small and angled upward. This basic model does NOT have WiFi connection - you need to buy and add the wifi module to it. So if you want to connect the lock to your smart phone and home network like HomeKit you are better to buy the package which has the Wifi module included. Good, but expensive

Relatively easy to install. Works as expected and only issue was with setup, and that was me not reading the instructions properly. Waving your hand to lock makes you feel like "The Force is with you".To see the connectivity modules cost another couple of hundred dollars makes this an expensive option in the market place of IoT.

Highly recommend this lock! While I was a bit skeptical at first as to installing a smart lock that is keypad only, I found that the functionality and appearance of this lock is exceeding my expectations. First off, the installation is extremely straightforward and easy. The app (Yale Secure) is easy to use and allows for managing up to 25 pin codes. For full disclosure, I currently own two August locks (Homekit enabled) for my rear access garage doors to the house which were purchased over a year ago. The reason I didn't purchase another August lock for our front door is that my wife and I objected to the look of it for our interior entryway - very bulky and "clunky" looking. In the case of this Yale Assure SL lock, the interior mechanism is much nicer looking with our entryway door. While some have complained that management of pin codes requires manual addition and removal versus the August Lock interface that allows scheduled access tokens to be sent to users - for me, this is really a non-issue. Frankly, I find it extremely convenient to be able to text or communicate with a potential guest either a pin code of their choice or mine to allow access as needed. When that need has ended, it is extremely simple to delete the code via the app. In some ways, I actually think this is a preferable way to manage access since it is so easy to add and delete codes "on the fly". The lock hardware looks great - both on the door exterior and interior. I have had no problems with functionality at all and I like the ease of use and the touch sensitive display. It works great with the Apple Homekit interface and response well to Siri, either with my Apple Watch or iPhone. I did notice a bit of a delay for the lock to open or close when using Siri, but certainly not a big deal as to use or functionality. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase as now all of my home deadbolt locks now part of my Apple Homekit system.

Simple install over existing mechanical deadbolt

Bought this as we had too many spare keys for family. Simple install over existing deadbolt set up. Just remove the old mechanical unit and put this in.Only complain was once this unit goes in, it is near impossible to remove the cable from the key pad to the back unit - so make sure you get everything right before plugging it in.

Someone wrote a review about it not aligning properly, and it can be a little finicky, but just take your time and it will align and fit. They gave a couple of options for screws and the batteries came with it, which is nice. Once all fitted together the interface worked nicely, and I was able to program in other numbers for people to use. It's simple and straightforward. I brought the version with the apple home module which works via Bluetooth and syncs perfectly with my iPhone and watch. I can even use my watch to unlock the door when I am within the Bluetooth range. You can get it with other modules so you can use android or another app on ios if you prefer. You don't NEED the module and it works well without it, but I like pressing 'arrive home' button in my apple app and it opens. The yale app also works with this and it's good to refine the settings to what you like, as I switched on the auto-lock after 30 seconds. It's a quality lock and I feel much safer now there is no keyhole to bump open in 30 seconds. Overall I am glad I purchased it...works seamlessly with my apple stuff. I will purchase it from Yale in the future if I need more lock gadgets.

Why has it taken so long to get one of these

Installed this a month ago. Connected it to Apple HomeKit. Now Siri opens my door for me. I can open this remotely for people that arrive at my house before I do. Don’t ever consider this a gimmick. You will love this item. Really easy to install. Really easy to operate. Program PIN numbers in. Get notifications if the door is unlocked or locked.

I purchased this lock together with the Z-Wave network module. I was impressed of the build quality of the lock as soon as I first held it in my hands. The install instructions together with the provided hardware makes it really easy to install. All I needed was a Philips head screwdriver, and I installed it within 15 minutes. I have a custom home automation system on Home Assistant, and the lock was discovered with no issues at all. I have also integrated it with my Google Home. I can't speak about the Yale app because I use my own system, but I have read negative reviews about it, but if you have a Z-Wave, Zigbee based Smart Home system such as Samsung SmartThings, this should work great. This prevents people leaving the door physically open which can get int the way of locking the door remotely. I really wish I bought one more at the time it was on sale.

Yale deadbolt lock with pad

This product is useless! So not reliable. I had my lock installed less than 2 week ago. Today when I came homeit’s dead. Lucky I had my key with me. No battery light indicating low batteries! It says batteries last 2 years. I have had mine less than 2 weeks. It’s totally useless and stay away fromThis product- you can not rely on it! I’m so disappointed.

not recommended - poor support

Worked ok intially - I did purchase the RF module to connect to Wi-Fi.Then after ~12months, unit randomly beeps like a fire alarm, no error codes on the display or wifi app. Tried two new sets of batteries, recalabrated each time. Still random beeping after a few days. Does not stop beeping with keypad or door lock/unlock. Have to remove batteries. Connected Yale Australia support a few times now and no replies. Cant use lock. I don't recommend.
