Yale - Document Fire Safe - Large - YFM/420/FG2

There is no need for 50 words or more the Yale Large Fire Safe has met and probably surpassed my expectations. It stores everything I need it to store and it has given me a sense of comfort that I did not fully expect. The comfort is the feeling that the contents are valuable and will be protected in unforgiving circumstances and it is comforting to know that all the items / documents that are meaningful in life are stored in one place and stored safely. I have no hesitancy in recommending the safe to my friends.

The safe was delivered in perfect condition, and was well packaged. It is exactly as described..I found the office particularly helpful, to ensure I had selected the correct product for my needs, after I had previously purchased a safe that was too big for the space. I am not very technical but found it relatively easy to set the password and to get it up and running. I purchased this safe to keep valuable documents in on a permanent basis, and as security for certain important items when we are away from home, and it fulfils this need admirably.Much to my surprise it was relatively easy to fix to our solid concrete floor and by taking my time and measuring carefully the holes were in the right place first time!Following the instructions to set it up was straightforward, and everything works as it should which makes it easy to operate.I have only 2 observations (I cannot call them criticisms). The second is a slight concern as to whether the electronics might just fail (although I have no evidence to suggest that this has ever occurred in such a safe) and then there is no back-up means of operation, potentially leaving valuable documents inaccessible.Nevertheless I am highly delighted with my purchase to date!.My score for value for money is based on the price I paid through "Safe" and obviously depends on availability at that price!

A very sturdy and easy to secure the safe to the floor with the large screws provided. The shelf at the top is not visible unless you get down on your hands and knees which is a good thing should be unlucky enough to be burgled. There is plenty of space to store all the usual documents most people are likely to keep at home In my opinion a 5 star safe well worth the money

It has a small concealed tray at the top which has place holdings for bank cards, and jewellery etc, which is ideal. There is then another shelf below, which is removable, and leaves plenty of room for other items such as hard drives, passports, wedding certs etc. The safe is also fire proof, which I would consider to be of great importance. Excellent quality safe with the capacity I wanted. Basically I needed a safe that would easily fit important A4 documents and other items of value. Delivery was very fast and very well packaged so there was no chance of damage during transit. It was very easy to fit to the floor but I did later swap out the raw plug and screws that came supplied with the safe to a 14mm Anchor bolt. I did this because it did not feel fully secure with the supplied fittings.The set-up and operation of the controls is also very easy. I would definitely recommend this safe.

I chose this safe because it is the larger of the series and can easily fit an A4 sheet (and therefore a small laptop/tablet) inside. This safe has 4 fixing holes in the base of the unit only, allowing you to fix to a solid floor. It comes with 4 bolts and 4 plastic plugs to aid with this. Inside there is a shelf and a plastic draw. The draw is useful for all those little bits (like keys) and is relevantly well hidden when you first open the safe (so long as the safe is below your eye level). The keypad can take a little time to "wake up" - I have found that the easiest way is to just rest 3 or 4 fingers on the pad until it wakes up. The process to open it is then very simple.

This Yale Large Fire Safe is a great size. Deep enough to hold A4 documents, with a shelf 2/3 of the way up, a pull out tray near the top and key hooks on the back of the door. Ideally it needs to be installed on a concrete floors so it can be secured with the 2 mounting bolts which are supplied. I like the feature of being able to add extra digits to the front and back of the actual entry code if you think you are being overlooked. It often takes a couple of presses to wake up the code entry touchpad, but you develop a knack. The ability to be able to supply external power (PP9 battery) if the internal battery goes flat was something I specifically looked for.
