The Yale Maximum Security Home Safe is designed to protect cash and valuables such as jewellery from theft and has a recommended insurance rating of £2,000 cash or £20,000 valuables with a Silver award in the Sold Secure Accreditation scheme. This home safe is secured by an electronic combination lock including a blue LCD which is powered by 4 x AA batteries (included). For additional peace of mind it is possible to override the electronic lock by a 6 lever high security double bitted key lock (supplied with one key). I chose the Yale Maximum Security Home Safe for the combination of digital key pad with emergency over-rides, the decent insurance rating and size. The range helpfully includes different shapes and sizes. It is easy to operate and was straightforward to install, and its handy having a shelf to separate different sorts of items. The internal (timed) light is a nice feature. Thoroughly recommend.

Bought to replace a previous model which had failed after some 15 years of use. This one was just an upgrade of that model but no so good in my opinion. If I hadn't had the previous model I probably would have given this a higher rating. However let down by two things. 1. Door doesn't close as tightly as the old one so I had to add a couple of self stick rubber pads. 2. The buttons are not so clearly labelled and seem smaller. Would I recommend it? Yes as it does the job and seems nice and secure.

Very strong safe and easy to securely install. Instructions were easily followed. The capacity of the safe is of a decent size, more than sufficient for 'normal' domestic use. The additional shelf is very handy and makes storing items so much more usable and convenient. I'd happily recommend the safe to friends and family.

Hopefully won't be tested in anger, but appears sturdy. Would be useful if the door could be designed to be handed so it could be switched to open either way. The bolts supplied are substantial but need max. tightening to grip breeze blocks.
