I have bought this to replace a Yamaha A-S201 which was a bit underpoweredThe 701 is a vast improvement in sound quality and power output . It does, however, overwhelm the bookshelf speakers I have at louder volumes, so probably is best suited to a nice pair of tower speakers .That will be something else to look for .
