Body The AC1RII is shaped to the comfortable Concert cutaway profile, a compact design which has become evermore popular. Solid Sitka spruce is employed in the body top and is reinforced with custom designed scalloped bracing for a broader tone and better durability. Rosewood constructs the back and sides bringing sizzling tones to the fore. Neck A smooth 3-ply African mahogany neck is firmly joined to the body, shaped to a comfortable straight taper profile. A rosewood fingerboard sits atop of the neck, providing a wonderful playing surface with hand-rolled edges for better movement. Dot inlays decorate the fingerboard to guide you. Electronics Yamaha have equipped the A-series electro acoustic guitars with new SRT2 pickup technology which offers a refined, consistent acoustic sound. The controls are simple, featuring a 2-band EQ and auto-feedback reduction for an even cleaner tone across the frequencies. The System72 onboard electronics also feature a new Piezo / SRT simulation blend control as well as a simulation of two different mic types to enhance the guitar's voice. Hardware The AC1RII comes with a new battery box which is integrated into the end-pin jack. As a result of this, the body only required smaller holes, consequently reducing any sound loss. The headstock is fitted with reliable die-cast chrome tuners to uphold tuning integrity with precision. A rosewood bridge improves sustain and intonation as you play, while ensuring a firm connection between strings and body. Yamaha have exceeded expectations in delivering superb sound and playability in this solid new series.
