Remarkable keyboard for the money - particularly strong for pianos/organs/electric pianos and clavinet. Some nice brass and synth patches. Ability to tweak sound in multiple ways with real-time controllers makes this a great gigging instrument. Also very light for an 88-key instrument.

The Yamaha CK88 Stage Piano was recommended by Ray; another keyboardist and friend. (He's not a salesman for GC) The CK88 is perfect for me. It has good acoustic and electric piano sounds, it's not heavy, the layout is intuitive and easy to navigate, and it feels good when I play it. I really don't gravitate to organs but that may change because of the CK88. I also found the other programs/tones/sounds very usable. Love the 'Live Set Sound' functionality. The band I play in repertoire is eclectic. This keyboard covers more than the essentials. The built in speakers actually sound pretty good. This should be my final keyboard for a minute or 2. My new gigging rig will consist of the Yamaha CK88, Roland Fantom 07, a vintage Korg X50, and a Lync Keytar/vintage Roland ... MoreThe Yamaha CK88 Stage Piano was recommended by Ray; another keyboardist and friend. I have never owned an electric keyboard. Wanted something I could use the MIDI function to arrange my own keyboard sheet music. Was ready to purchase a Yamaha P-515 electric keyboard, which would have been very similar to my Yamaha GH grand. Then came across the CK88. I've come across many Youtube videos that demonstrate the sounds, but very little detail on how I might make my own sounds. Then it occurred to me, that's a large part of the allure. There's enough flexibility for me to experiment and save my 'creations', but not so many dials and switches that it becomes overwhelming. So I'm ready to start exploring.
I have a montage 8, which is great but heavy. I wanted a lighter stage piano for gigs that had 88 keys. The CK88 is an awesome stage piano. It is light to transport, has a great keybed and at a price point that just cannot be ignored. The sounds are brilliant. Between my MODX 7+ and the CK88 I have all sounds I need. I would higly recommend the CK88. The more I play it the more I love it.
I play in a local rock band that covers a good deal of 60's and 70's music that used piano, ePiano and organ - particularly the Hammond sound - think Allman Bros, Deep Purple etc. This board covers them all with room to spare. Also navigating around it was a snap. First day I was building my own user set ups.
okay so i learned it has bluetooth so i can basically just play a metronome off my phone and use that. this piano is awesome 100% 5 stars. i recant my previous review
