This would be a great beginner guitar!!
Very good quality, great sound and has been all I could want from a guitar. It's a lovely guitar to play and with the onboard tuner it is a very simple set up. As a beginner to guitar it is perfect for me.After playing ukulele for 2 years I decided to go for it and bought this guitar. I did find the size was an issue at first but now it is not really an issue.I would definitely recommend to anyone starting out.
I need an acoustic/electric for solo gigs and have always found Yamaha to be a good value. This guitar has a great look and sound, but the playability was not there. My luthier was able to improve it some by adjusting the nut and saddle, but his diagnosis is the neck is "underset" (too low). I was able to do a gig with it last night - sound was great but it was not easy to play. That is the downside of mail order instruments.
I received my CPX600 today and really like it. It's the first "acoustic-electric" I've owned and it's taken a little getting used to. If you want a guitar that plays loud and full (unplugged)...this isn't it. The volume of the instrument is good for family rooms and around the house. Where the CPX600 really shines is when it's plugged in the amp. The installed pick up system does a great job delivering clarity of all the strings plus the EQ helps the player get the sound they want. It's lightweight with a streamlined body that's fun to play. Kudos to Yamaha for their quality affordable guitars.
This medium jumbo guitar is very comfortable for performances especially when standing. Nice sound projection in the medium range of mids and lows. Amplified the sound is great. Out of the box it required a set up as the action was high 3.5 mm at 12th fret. I had to slightly sand the saddle and nut and reduce the bow in the neck. All that being done it is perfect for my style and a keeper. I also like light gauge strings and the guitar responds very well with sound projection and smooth playing on a very comfortable neck with a string spacing of 6mm.
Came down too two Guitars that I was looking for PRS A60E and Yamaha CPX600 they sound almost like twins you know it saved myself some money and loving every minute of my YAMAHA CPX600 AWESOME.
Had this for a week now.Looks great, nice low action. The sound is crisp and clear unplugged or plugged.Built in tuner is very clear and precise.Always liked Yamaha as a brand . Definitely sits comfortably with guitars more expensive.
