A capable, multi-functional soundbar

Useful in that it offers a number of protocols. Could do with an additional audio output but supports HDMI, optical with a sub out, wireless or wired network connection. Sound is a bit bright sometimes, but there are a number of modes including a clear voice and music setting. There is a slight processing delay as might be expected on devices like these, but there is Yamaha's multicast "MusicCast" facility via their app if you have other supported products. If you can get this at a discount it's good value.

Great sound, good hardware, software to be improved

Great speaker, Easy controls via Yamaha MusicCast app

My first experience with a device to supplement TV sound. I discovered it's also a great WIFi tuner for online radio streaming! It's a wonderful alternative to my rooftop FM receiver. Sound is perfect and comes with pre-settings for TV, music, etc. A bit tricky to set up, but tech support provides excellent help - very patient and step-by-step assistance. The remote is easy to use, after the setup is complete, and the Yamaha MusicCast app for iOS or the equivalent Samsung device is a marvel of simplicity. There's a wealth of FM radio for streaming on this device. Easy to switch from TV to WiFi "Net" mode with a push of a button. Easy to change the pre-settings from TV program to CD to DVD mode with the push of a button.

Review of YSP1600 5.1 All-in-One Sound Bar

Good Points: Very easy to set up, Subwoofer has a good kick considering it's external, when I have the volume turned up I actually have to turn the subwoofer down a couple of clicks. Sound quality is generally very good for the money.Improvement Points: While the surround sound is there, maybe it's just my room but it doesn't sound like the surround channels are coming from behind me, they're more at the side of me. I've tried different room positions on the remote but it's the best I can get it. Yamaha Better Than Bose

Had the Yamaha YSP 1600 for 10 months now bought from Currys. Its a fantastic sound bar mush better than the crap Bose I had before this. The MusicCast app is brilliant for linking my other great Yamaha products together. Wanted a All in one soundbar and the ysp 1600 deliveries fantastic sound looks great and I can definitely say its the best Soundbar Ive ever owned. Looking for a great soundbar never buy Bose all ways buy the best Yamaha.
