Great piece of kit and so many helpful features. Really great sounds, easy to set up and just what my daughter needed to progress to the next level of her drumming. Compared to traditional drum kit much more compact and less intrusive.Very good value for money.

As an entry level digital drum kit it appears solidly made and produces a pretty lifelike sound through my mini amps. After searching reviews online for various kits with my budget not stretching to a Roland, the Yamaha was the next best choice as the brand has been making musical instruments for years and being a Japanese company have a reputation for quality.You will need to buy a separate stool, drumsticks, headphones and amplifier. I needed a 6.5mm to 3.5mm output jack/adapter to connect my amps/phones to the kit output socket.

Yamahas durability is unmatched. The onboard sounds worked for me early on when I was just practicing, and the midi functionality is perfect for stepping up my recordings. Only critiques would be the hi-hat controller being an inconsistent from time to time. NOT SPONSORED, BUT GET THIS

Bought this as a gift for my partner since he sold his previous set and needed something more compact/suitable for living in a flat. He was ecstatic to receive this as a gift and has been playing daily. The variety of drum sets is great, and the ability to plug in the amp or headphones is perfect. Easy to set up, all you need is a set of sticks and you can drum away.
The set is phenomenal and the setup was so easy. Everything was very clearly labeled. Very impressed! Really great to get several months of lessons with the purchase as well. The Melodics program is also great!
Works amazing for what i use it for as a base model. Next i will upgrade to one with a bluetooth in it. This Yamaha is great for in home use. Is not too loud even with speaker, headphone compatible, and easy to plug your phone in to adjust the sounds if needed. Amazing product
Bought this drum kit for my son as a birthday present. I don’t know much about electronic drums but recognised Yamaha as a well known brand in music instruments and at an affordable price.Delivery was prompt and efficient.Son seems very pleased with the drum set although disappointed that he couldn’t play them straightaway as kit does not come with speakers and he had no headphones available. For those not experienced in these type of drums such as myself this could have been pointed out in the product description and I could have purchased speakers/amp or bought a more expensive model which incorporated these features. Apart from this disappointment I was overall a satisfied customer with few complaints
I use only Yamaha drum hardware. I like the single brace models because they are extremely durable. This DS550 throne is wonderful because in addition to the thumbscrew holder, it has a memory lock.
I bought this kit for Christmas for Joyce... she loves it. We are both now learning as the play alongs are very good indeed. The ability to change tempo is a real advantage... to analyse what is actually being played then copy the track is an excellent function. The sounds are very realistic. It is robust and in true Yamaha style it will last for a long time. A fine piece of equipment.
