I think this kit is great. The module has some great sounds on it and is easy to use. I personally love the Steel Ring kit on the module. Having a separate high hat stand and 2 crashes is a nice upgrade from my old dtx502 kit. The snare and kick pads feel nice to hit. And it's a pretty sturdy kit. No complaints here.
Fantastic versatility. It will take a while to explore the features but sounds great in the studio and ideal for recording with.
This is the 2nd electronic drumset that I've owned. I originally owned a Roland TD-17KVX and traded it for this kit. In my opinion, the Yamaha has much better drum sounds overall than the Roland, especially in regards to the snare drums. The snare pad is awesome and the 3 zones sound very clear and responsive without having to hit a button on the module to activate the cross-stick. Although the Roland triggering may be a little better (especially on the cymbals) this is way more fun to play because the sounds are great and the cymbals are much better to play on in my opinion.
A brilliant kit for home or stage use, as I no longer play live it will enable me to keep my hand in at home. Very pleased.
