Yamaha FS850 Acoustic Guitar in Natural
For those looking for Yamaha quality but perhaps in a design that's slightly smaller and more manageable than a dreadnought, try the FS range. These are sister models to the massively popular FG series and have a smaller, folk size body. This makes handling the guitar easier and more comfortable than bigger bodied models. Sonically you also get a tighter sound with more focus on the fundamental note. These models (like any guitar) can handle any technique but on this case fingerpicking styles are especially suitable. The FS850 is the top of the line FS guitar and is made entirely from Mahogany. The top is solid Mahogany for quality, tone and resonance. Even the binding has been made from Mahogany! This guitar sounds very soft and warm, like honey mixed with wood! It's very earthy and has a deliciously strong mid-range, perfect for fingerpicking. This beautiful folk guitar is perfect for anyone looking for a warm, deep sounding acoustic with a rustic feel and an excellent price tag.

This instrument is beautifully made, the fit and finish are great and the sound is warm and smooth. If you pick one up and play it you will not want to put it down. I highly recommend this guitar.

This is a gorgeous mahogany guitar that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It sounds great but like many guitars made in this price range in Asia. The string spacing is too narrow for my fingers. I would like to keep it because I think it's beautiful and well-made, but I'm afraid it will probably be moving on because of the string spacing issue

THIS INSTRUMENT IS ONE OF THE BEST BARGAINS AROUND. THE MAHOGANY LOOKS GORGEOUS AND RENDERS A SWEET, WARM SOUND THAT IS EMINENTLY SATISFYING. THE BUILD QUALITY IS FAR BETTER THAN ONE WOULD EXPECT FOR THE PRICE. THE FRETWORK IS FLAWLESS, AS ARE THE FIT AND FINISH. THIS IS AWESOME!

I'm just getting back into playing guitar after a near 40 year hiatus!and this guitar is a keeper The size of the FS850 is comparable to my Big Baby Taylor which is perfect for me. The overall quality and craftsmanship is outstanding. Buy one...You won't be disappointed
The Yahama FS850 was one of the guitars on my shortlist, and having tried them all, it clearly stood way above pretty much everything else in the price range. Great looking guitar, super quality, and what a lovely rich sound. Great deal on it from GuitarGuitar including the free gig bag. The Staff there are very helpful and happy for you try trial any of the guitars. Having had a number of Acoustic Guitars previously, including some premium brands, but never before a Yamaha, I would highly recommend.
Yamaha extraordinary quality feelings and very nice sound of solid mahagony. The only point (which is quite usual) that the guitar needs a complete setup, polishing of frets, lowering the strings etc… now it is far better
I was in the acoustic guitar room for a while trying to find a guitar that I thoroughly enjoyed playing and I kept coming back to the Yamaha FS850. It is such a wonderful guitar that held up to even the top of the line Gibsons. This all mahogany guitar is a thing of beauty and has a well balanced tone.
I wanted an all mahogany and was considering the Mart....brand but have been disappointed with their recent quality, so I gave the FS-850 a try. Fit and finish are exceptional and the sound is on par with guitars costing four times as much. I also like the use of hard wood for the binding rather than plastic....a real class act. Setup out of the box was good, but I did cut the nut slots a little deeper for easier action. Very satisfied with the purchase.
This is a spectacular instrument with a warm, unique sound. I have owned several high-end instruments, and this is right up there with them. It is not a loud instrument and is better suited for soft strumming and fingerpicking the than hard strumming
Been looking for a replacement for my trusty and beat up Yamaha FG Dreadnought from the 1980s. Took me all of 60 seconds to decide on the FS850. Yamaha quality and playability as you'd expect. Bombproof tuning pegs (I'm an intermediate amateur alternate tuning fingerpicker). The Dreadnought finally retired...and when side by side looking very old indeed...although the Yamaha headstock design has changed little over the 40 years in between...a beauty!
