At this level I needed my experience with the PSR730 and PSR SX900 to find my way in.The major point is Yamaha has given EVERY voice 5 star treatment on the Genos. No more needing different keyboards for different strengths. The Revo drum kits have to be heard to be believed.Forget a couple of hours playing, once you sit down with this beautiful powerhouse no amount of time is long enough as it keeps giving and giving. The difficulty with writing a review about this one is that only those who own one know just how incredible it is.Think on this; there is a reason why the Genos costs more than twice the price of the PSR SX900.

I have owned a Tyros 3 and 4 - I still have the 4. I thought I'd splurge on the Genos since I had nothing better to do with my money (and the wife said ok!). I have read a lot of reviews where people are complaining that the OS is very difficult to navigate compared to the Tyros. I can tell you it's not. It does so much more than the Tyros, so yes, there's a learning curve, but it's an easy one. What I really love about this is that it's lightning fast compared to the Tyros. I copied 200 midi files from my Tyros to a flash drive. Put it in the Genos and they were copied in 2 or 3 seconds. Everything on the Genos is 1000 faster than the Tyros. An added plus is the unlimited registrations. This is great when I play live, as I store all my set list songs in the ... MoreI have owned a Tyros 3 and 4 - I still have the 4. An added plus is the unlimited registrations. This is great when I play live, as I store all my set list songs in the registrations, and can set them up depending on the venue. I no longer have to clear my registration banks and create set lists every time I play. Now I just create folders once for each venue, and then call that folder of registrations up at the gig. Also, you can copy/paste in the registrations. Makes it 100 times faster when removing and adding songs to a bank, or rearranging your set lists on the Tyros. And yes, you will have to modify the midi instrument setups when you port them over from the Tyros - but only if you want to, because the Genos will automatically match the Tyros instruments, so you're ready to go immediately. Saving midi setups is a breeze - press save, and in a blink of an eye, they're saved. So many outstanding features of the Genos makes it easy to justify the hefty price tag. Of course, the sounds, Wow! Great board.

Excellent arranger workstation keyboard I ever have played in my life. I have no cons about this keyboard apart from the ugly rear panel design. The unsafe screw bump is very difficult to handle and will cause problem on a constant usage.Yamaha must change the pricing strategy of Genos from Premium Pricing to Fair Pricing. One thing I can't keep to myself is about the Stunning Product Demos by Martin Harris a.k.a. Mr. Tyros. Please update the sequencer to atleast 24 Channel Midi + 4 Audio

Fantastic keyboard with excellent sounds. The new drum sounds are incredible. Yamaha have done it again, I didn't think anything could be better than a Tyros 5 but this is much better, a real leap forward with the sounds. The new touch screen is easy to use and makes it very simple to navigate to the setting you want. I like the 10 memory buttons as well. I would definately recommend this keyboard.
Absolutely amazing versatility with sterling sound reproduction. I use it alone and occasionally on top of my B3. It is everything claimed and demonstrated in the Yamaha Genos videos. Had my Genos a year and have yet to discover and utilize all the features and functions. More that satisfied with this purchase. Worth every penny without question.
This keyboard has really blown my mind. It divers in so many ways. From the natural sounds to the drums. All of the instruments are very realistic. I just recently downloaded a backup track which is amazing to play with a full Orchestra back up. Beautiful system
MusicStore is very professional. I bought a Yamaha Genos keyboard! Everything was perfect, the price was the more competitive in the market, entering the order was very easy, following delivery was easy as well. It’s now my favorite music instruments shop.
Genos is a new (not a next) generation. With many features mirrored from the Tyros line, new features expand the possibilities. Multiple USB memory ports give the player more options. Dials and sliders add new versatility while maintaining backward compatibility. Connectability and compatibility reflect upgraded electronic progress.Best of all, until the new features become ingrained, Genos can be identical to it's predecessors until new skills are learned.Availability has been limited and the touch screen can be a challenge that, with practice, will be overcome.
I have been testing extensivly and the sound is just so crisp and perfect.A lot of functions and obviously very good device. Some drawbacks for me:No easy to use solution for making chord loops on PC unless you understand midicubase integration seems limited.Technical isseu that is not perse true for others: I have a high pitch whine when recording in cubase wich I will pick up with yamaha
I previously owned the Tyros 2, Tyros 3, and Tyros 5. I am getting reacquainted after having sold my Tyros 5 more than 4 years ago. This is a keyboard that will expand your capabilities and stretch your musical imagination. I am a Choir Director at church, and I use it mainly to supplement rehearsals, by creating and recording songs at home, either before or after rehearsals, and then emailing the song to choir members to enhance their ability to learn songs for future performances. I love the way, the bass and other instruments follow the chord changes in a seamless manner. Plugging a quality mic directly into the Genos is a great idea and will produce a great sound, however, you will spend hours tweaking the many settings to produce the right vocal sound. This is an expensive instrument, but if you are or want to be a one-person band, or want to create powerful recordings, these Yamaha units are truly amazing. At this point, I have only owned it for less than a month, and while it can be easy to immediately start playing, there is a lengthy learning curve to master the endless possibilities. I have nothing but praise for this fine instrument, the realistic sounds will blow you away. You can hear the breath sounds as the sax and other woodwinds are being played. Enjoy!
