This meets my expectations - it was exactly what I was after - I needed something that'll boost the bass on my studio monitors, and this did it perfectly. To be honest, I would not pay retail price for what my requirement was hence I waited to buy on sale and that made it worth it. Go for the 100W at least if you want big bass boost. I run my 'volume' on the sub at around 60% so there is definitely more left in the tank, but it is subtle overall which I enjoy from a clarity perspective.

I was a little leery of buying an open-box item, but the price was too good to pass up. The sub not only looks brand-new, but operates like it as well. People who want a lot of knobs to fiddle with might not be happy, as it only has an RCA input and volume control, but it's perfect for my use. I have it plugged into my Yamaha ATS-1080 sound bar, which has its own array of bass and other sound tweaking controls. It not only sounds great for TV, but for music as well. I only have the sub volume up about a third of the way. Higher than that and it would probably rattle my windows and have the neighbors complaining! Great, clear bass and a terrific value.

Home stereo use. Yamaha subwoofer ads good bottom end to Bose bookshelf speakers. Subtle cabinet matches look of Bose. Affordable price point. Purchased this unit because of its "old school" cord connection. Wanted to avoid Bluetooth connectivity problems I read about with other (more expensive) speakers. If your receiver has a subwoofer output, get this speaker. Very happy with choice.

I purchased this Yamaha sub-woofer to match some excellent Yamaha NS-7.2 speakers that I have had for 40+ years, It was very easy to hook up into my system and once I had the volume adjusted the total sound was perfect. The fact that it was very reasonably priced helped my wallet.
Surprisingly tight and musical bass for a budget price. Sadly, I can't use it because the young lady next door complained because the sound travels right through the wall and disturbs her - oh well. Otherwise, it's PERFECT!
Was looking for a small subwoofer to compliment my Yamaha integrated amp and small JBL bookshelf speakers mainly used for music. This is an outstanding sub. Punchy, clean and deep. Highly recommended!
I owned a Roth, Taga Harmony and Mission prior to this Yamaha, except Roth, other two brands showed trouble after few months of usage, though they were brand new! And now this Yamaha, simple subwoofer without any gimmicks, I love that, my only concern is it would have a bit more powerful, say 75W RMS and the plate amplifier could have been concealed and acoustic dampening material could have been added in the baffle. Other than that, this is a great 10" Sub under 20K, bought for 18K from Amazon.
I have been happy with the great rich smooth bass and great lows that matches up with my system. Plus it just looks cool! For the on/off I just hooked the plug in into remote switch on/off electrical plug on outlet. 50w was more then enough power for a mid size to small room, I actually had to turn down the “dbs” on the receiver to match it up with my Onkyo 686, 5.1 system so the bass wouldn’t overwhelm the sound. Very happy!
Smaller size, but produces sufficient bass for my use. Fit's nicely in corner, ported on side.... On/Off switch in back, has light (in back) that glows when powered. Overall, very happy with purchase. Wasn't available in store, but was shipped, well packaged and reasonable shipping.
This sub came with the bundled yamaha 5.1 speakers and preamp. Very happy with everything except this subwoofer. The bass is not very loud and gets muddy if you turn it up high. It doesnt drown out the dialogue for tv and movies which is good, but i expected more. May be replacing this piece in my setup!
