I love FINALLY getting an 88 key Yamaha digital piano. I had the 66 key Yamaha MO6 for almost 15 years. [Also purchased from Sam Ash.] They bought it back from me which made purchase of the 88 key more affordable. I had purchased the P125 88 key for my church the year before from Sam Ash. Both digital pianos play beautifully and are easy to navigate through the different sounds. I use the P225 to practice on and it feels almost as good as my Yamaha baby grand piano. It is light weight enough [ about 25 lbs ] for me to carry to jobs. The MO6 required external speaker (s ). I love that the P225 and the P125 have built in speakers which are VERY effective. Beginner-friendly digital piano falls short on action and speaker quality, but is a good value anyways

The GHC (compact) action is unfortunately not as good as GHS (standard). The lever is too short, so there is significantly less key travel near the back of the keys. Not suitable for complex passagework, but fine for beginners. The integrated speakers are mediocre. I would recommend using headphones or using external studio monitors for a more convincing presentation. For the price, the piano represents good value, but don't expect any miracles.

Dont waste your money on this one. Sad to say

Overall:I thought this would be a favorable upgrade from my p125. Some nice features but the speakers are not robust and facing out instead of up. The new action is awkward but playable. The player does not have the connection as the P125 does in my opinion. The body feels flimsy. Smaller is not always better. Nothing feels right after a week of playing it. I was forcing myself to like it so I could recommend it to my students, but I am honest with myself and disappointed. P125 is still a better beginner-to-pro piano minus the CFX. I'm sure Yamaha knows this P225 was a big mistake and will upgrade soon. They are a great company, but this is planned obsolescence at its best. To be clear, just because I am unhappy with this board does not mean it's zZounds fault. ... MoreOverall:I thought this would be a favorable upgrade from my p125. Excellent and Simple Digital Piano
7 June 2024

Bought this piano to learn, the pros are it has a very streamlined interface and sleek design and the action has a great feel. The grand piano emulation is amazing as well! Only con I can think of is the built-in speakers are quiet considering the price, however for my purposes it is not an issue. Highly recommended as a piano to learn/practice on, and for home concerts.

Good piano, useless Bluetooth
31 July 2024

I'm happy with the piano. It works well and meets my needs. The only exception is the Bluetooth function. I made a point of choosing a piano with Bluetooth capability, only to find out that you can't use the Bluetooth on this piano to send music to another device. That makes the Bluetooth useless to me.

Love this!

I love this piano. It plays beautifully. I also love this bundle. I would highly recommend. The piano stand looks very nice in my living room. The only thing I would change would be to have an adjustable bench. It’s pretty high for your average sized person.

An excellent digital piano that will be perfect for me. It is very narrow, so fits well in the available space. Very nicely manufactured and the piano sound is superb. The key touch is just like an acoustic piano. A perfect way for me to start my piano playing journey.

Review of Yamaha P225 Digital Piano in Black

The P-225 is an absolutely wonderful instrument with sublime sound. The range of voices is excellent and so realistic it's a joy to play, although the piano voice quite honestly is good enough on its own. The graded hammer action of the notes is also very well designed - it's very close to playing a real piano.Prior to purchasing this instrument I did a significant amount of research. We have a piano at home and wanted to be able to play at times without disturbing others, so having the volume control and the headphone sockets is spot on. The whole package consists of the digital piano, a music pedal for sustain and a pair of superb headphones. When you play with them on it's a real pleasure to hear the piano sound through them. It is also worth noting that the P-225 also has excellent speakers and to add to it, can be used as a bluetooth speaker which can connect to your phone, tablet etc.If you have the budget available I would absolutely recommend purchasing the P-225 over any cheaper Yamaha product. This is simply because the outlay for such an instrument is quite high in the first place and spending the extra couple of hundred pounds makes a huge difference. Although I have not owned an older or cheaper model like this so can't compare directly, the reviews you can find including various ones on YouTube (Andertons is humorous, objective and informative) can help you make an informed choice.Overall I am exceptionally happy with this purchase and as a prospective customer I was very impressed with the way Anderson's dealt with queries, help you make a choice without any sense of being pushed. In the end I would recommend you do your homework before making a purchase. There is a wealth of material out there, a lot of which is extremely helpful.

So far so good after a week
25 July 2024

#SweepstakesI researched this extensively. In the end I decided that the nuanced differences mentioned by professional pianists between this and the Roland I was comparing it to were things I probably would never notice. The competitor had down facing speakers which I understand would muffle the sound on a carpeted floor, which is what I have. Also I liked the Yamaha name and reputation. I have it placed against the wall and it sounds very good. The weighted keyboard feels very good, and should minimize issues when transitioning to an acoustic piano for lessons. I'm a beginner who's been practicing on and off with the non-weighted keyboard for about a year and finally decided to get serious. Hopefully this will satisfy my needs for some time to come.

Yamaha P-225 is Excellent
5 July 2024

The P-225 is precisely what I wanted and performs as advertised. The digital piano has a few bells and whistles, which as a old guy learning piano for the first time are all I need and want.Key action is good, sound is great, options are fun and work. I am completely satisfied with my Yamaha P-225.
