I was shopping for an integrated amp that would be well built, reliable, powerful enough to drive most higher end speakers, and one that had some visual charm. I cross shopped AudioLab, Cambridge Audio, Parasound, and NAD to name a few very well regarded manufacturers. When I discovered the RN-2000A and did my research, I was both impressed with the build quality and reviews, but also with the esthetics. I'm an old school audiophile and the VU meters, easily accessed tone controls, and the built in streamer with excellent DAC, phono pre-amp, and outstanding construction sold me.My dealer remarked, upon my decision, that he believed the Yamaha to be a real "sleeper." I concur wholeheartedly. More folks should know about the quality and neutral sound quality present ... MoreI was shopping for an integrated amp that would be well built, reliable, powerful enough to drive most higher end speakers, and one that had some visual charm. I love the amplifier. It is beautiful, powerful and very well built. Even the FM is very good.I do have a few issues:a. The top plate has very thin paint that is prone to scuffing too easily. It could use a clear coat of paint.b. MusicCast does not support gapless playback or song "scrubbing". That could be a deal killer for some.c. Yamaha had plenty of time to incorporate Bluetooth 5 or better. BT 4.2 is just silly at this point.d. Yamaha could have incorporated support for WiFi 6 or better. They had the time to.In all, I can live with the warts because the receiver is so good.

At first I was so excited because of all the positive energy that many people have reviewed this product, but myself not too happy anymore. With much anticipation, I went out and replaced my present unit. After only 2 months, this new Yamaha receiver failed to update and then went into "Protection Mode", I guess this means you cannot use it anymore until you take it in for repair and inspection. It stopped working and would not power on anymore. So now , I guess it'll be fixed and now I no longer have a new product, but a Refurbished one & only after only 2 months! Not cool Yamaha.

This is the first time I have experienced the Yamaha quality. I am thoroughly impressed! This receiver is A++ in everything! A++ in the build quality in the aesthetics (love the meters) in functionality and features and most importantly the sound! I switch between my CD player and streaming which is really versatile. MusicCast works perfect on my android phone. This amp has really made me happy. I paired it with Sonus Faber Lumina IIs speakers and l think they are a incredible match. It's not to often I buy something and get this much satisfaction.
I bought this unit new since I was looking replace my A-S801 integrated amp with a higher end unit. It does everything you would expect from Yamaha, but the only issue I have with it is that as a higher end 2-channel centerpiece, it should have included an external processor loop and/or a record out function since many of us who are into vinyl LPs still have a need for a graphic equalizer unit (if used lightly) or even a range expander (if used lightly) to help with some of our less than perfect LPs. If Yamaha should introduce a "R-N3000" model WITH a processor loop/record out function, I will gladly purchase it and gift my R-N2000 to my daughter. I have been a Yamaha audio fan since 1987 and hopefully that will never change!
Superb sound quality. I love the vintage look, with all the modern features like Apple Play. Using this amp immediatly imroved the sound quality of my existing speakers and set up, very noticable difference. The included DAC and Phono stages are also very nice, and I especially like how they are all incorporated into one unit so it looks great in my living room. Would 100% reccomend.
It's a beautiful piece of equipment. It gives me that old school feel. It has many features that I like. I am using the Yamaha 2000 to power a pair of KLP20's. I upgraded from a Yamaha R-N 803. Also connected to the Yamaha 2000 is my old school Marantz direct drive turntable from the 1970's that I play my vinyl collection on. The sound the Yamaha 2000 produces is exquisite. I have what I call a hybrid component setup. Something old, something new. Only thing I didn't like is the unit didn't come with an owners manual.
Installed a couple weeks ago and spent sole time with this beast. Paired with Klipsch Heresy IV the imaging is outstanding, as if it’s impossible to tell where the speakers even are. YPAO does a great job of equalizing for the room, and the loudness level is a welcome throwback especially for nighttime listening. ARC works as expected too.
Stunning, sound and build quality. Tremendously versatile network receiver that demonstrates a superior sound stage, neutral and pin point clarity! It's vast horizon of features includes accessing eARC via a dedicated HDMI port. It was one of the reasons I've been waiting to get this for over a year! Why buy a expensive sound bar and subwoofer that can't compete with the sound quality of a dedicated audiofile system. Granted it's a two channel stereo system but with this device and in my case using a pair of Golden-Ear T-66 loudspeakers I'm floored with the sonic experience! Ps this monster's only downside it it's weight at near 50 lbs it's a battleship! Thanks Yamaha for the N2000R! I waited a long time to get this, so happy I did!
