This device is much more effective than many other devices. Has more control for settings. Much louder than others has a volume control Been using the Aspectek for 2 weeks. If it works well enough plan to use the 110 to 9 VDC adapter. Unit runs off of 4 C batteries. Rear cover is not snug enough to protect against warm weather. Nor does it come with any foam to protect the bottom entry hole for external power wire. A few tweaks and I think it just might work out.

New neighbor has cats that constantly live in my side yard and have turned it into their own personal littler box. Installed the HR131 (constant setting). Problem resolved. I installed it about 12" off the ground and left the audio setting low , so I can still slightly hear it. It's been about 2 months and so far everything is going well. The long AC adapter cord was particularly appreciated.

It works like a charm on my neighbors two unruly American Bulldogs! We've been dealing with these stupid, incredibly loud barking dogs for three years now! Since the owners won't do anything, we had to take matters into our own hands. After a bunch of research, I decided on this unit. The best part of this unit is that it plugs in so no need to check batteries AND it sounds (silently) EVERY time they bark. Every time! It has other features but this is the only one I'm interested in. They don't seem so interested in barking anymore. Hallelujah!! This has been the most peaceful 2 weeks we've had in a loooong time! Thank you "Bark Stop"!!! I may get another one for good measure :-)

I have purchased three other units each from different manufacturer and each different size and shape. All use same technology and same design logic. None of the four I have does what it is meant to do. Animals do not react to them at all. The solar charge is working only in a sunny bright days so most of the time there is no charge and units do not come on. When they are triggered as I said no effect on animals is noticed.
Somewhat effective. The control section on the back is very difficult to read---slightly raised green letters on the same green background. I got this to repel AZ ringtails and pack rats. Ringtail activity was moderated for 48 hours, then increased again. Pack rat activity was unaffected. Both doves and hummingbirds were affected. Instead of devices, I found an excellent service to remove nuisance wildlife---by far the better solution.
My neighbor's dog started using my back yard on a very regular basis to take a crap on. I tried several options that didn't work and then I bought the Yard Sentinel. Should have done that first. The instructions are very simple. There is a setting for what critters you want to repel. You have your choice of AC or DC. I use the electric cord instead of batteries for greater power. The range of this thing is well over 50' in any forward direction. This product is of a higher quality than what I expected and it has really performed well for me. I highly recommend this item and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.
It was definitely thrown my money out of window that's for sure! First of all I purchased with remote control, and never received that, I'm waiting for that remote control for weeks! And about the unit, I have two cats, and when it did turned on, they walked close by, and they just started sniffing the green box, watching the strobe light, then just like nothing there, walked away the calmly... ridiculous!!!! I would Never recommend this product to Nobody!
1, Tracks in my garden and devoured strawberry plants indicated that the Sentinel has questionable effect on keep the deer at bay. The ultrasonic output, if it exists, had no effect. I'm not sure in which direction the deer entered the garden, so the strobe light may not have been activated upon their arrival. 2. The sonic and strobe attributes of the device work -- not sure about the ultrasonic since i can't detect it with my human ears. However, I noticed that a cat walked by without showing any hurried movements to get away from the ultrasonic noise -- if there were any. 3. The back cover is very bad design -- difficult to remove for device adjustments, even hard to put it back in place.
We live on a small farm and need to prevent raccoons from getting into our hay storage room. Raccoon droppings, according to the Internet, contain a virus that can be lethal to humans and extremely harmful to horses. So I set up the strobe alarm in the 8'x24' room where an electric outlet was available and did not put any batteries in the unit. I set the device so that it is activated by the motion detector and chose the "night only" setting. The unit seems very reliable although the alarm does go off more than just at night. So I unplug it in the morning and plug it back in at the end of the day. I am glad I purchased this strobe alarm and recommend it for enclosed room applications where an electric outlet is available.
I have tried several other similar ultrasonic pest controllers and so far with this one the garden shows no signs of animal intrusion. I really like the fact that there many ways of setting this unit for individual requirements. Only negative is that the unit has limited options for power usage. Solar power would almost mike this a perfect garden ultrasonic pest deterrent. Unit is sold by other resellars
