This has the same cold cell technology in it to keep things in it cold. It’s like a rubber foam type lining that has great cooling retention. The bag itself on the outside is soft but is puncture proof. Uv resistant and mildew resistant to keep from any negative side affects setting in from the outdoors! The top doesn’t have a zipper anymore they’ve changed it to a magnetic closure. Let me just say this magnet is so strong! It’s a band of magnets along the top that clamp closed tightly and retain and keep the coldness inside the bag. We have a couple of these. One we use for our kids drinks while traveling. Initially it was used for traveling while nursing my baby so I could keep breast milk and bottles cold on road-trips and camping. Then it was upgraded to kids bottles, juice and milk and … beer in the car or for traveling in general. Keeps things cold forever like all yeti products. Doesn’t leak even though it’s a zipper top. Super handy cross strap that makes carrying it around extremely convenient. The second one we use for storing fish chum in while fishing on the beach. Again, doesn’t leak and keeps things cool. Extremely easy to clean. Just all around awesome.

Amazing quality and cold drinks 1.5 days later

I am actually pleasantly surprise. So many mix reviews but buying the YETI ice packs helped big time. Freeze it and then put it around the cooler from inside and there is no melting or water. We took it to our outdoor party and as well to Legoland. We packed with water, juices and some snacks. All day on the Sun from 9am to even next day 6pm our waters were still cold. Yes zipper is a big issue but it comes with little lubricant and I don’t think it makes a big of a difference. It says pull hard and I love the zipper is not some cheap zipper. This is sturdy cooler and high quality. It’s great for beach and love comfy handle to carry on the shoulder. No twists or turns. Great Cooler

The storage capacity is very large on this Yeti. I never dreamed I would use it to keep surgical dental ice packs frozen and by my daughter's bedside after she had 7 teeth extracted! The cooler's amazing construction kept her dental packs frozen and allowed her to change them out throughout the night without having to get out of bed!We bought it to use at softball games, but our first use turned out to be much more beneficial for our daughter than keeping her beverages or food cold!! This Yeti is well worth the investment of money as the construction and quality are top notch. I will be recommending it to friends and family.

Hopper Flip 18

I bought this cooler to replace another brands soft cooler. This cooler works great. The first time I used it for fishing I forgot to precool it. It still worked great with no ice melt we only fished for 6 hours and it was 95. Since then I have precooled it for a hour or two before I use it and it's a great cooler. I have other yeti products which are great as well. I waiting till the sidekick comes back into stock and will get that one in my cooler color or another color that matches the cooler. Yeti is a great product and works you get what you pay for. I put a product called Top Coatf11 on the cooler. It helps with the UV rays even though you say UV resistent just extra protection, it also helps with cleaning the cooler it beads the water up if it gets wet. I only put it on the outside.

Not just the best insulated cooler but ultra light

We've been using the same old plastic coolers for years, they're bulky and don't do a particularly great job at keeping food cold when we take our trailer for a long weekend of summer vintage racing. This past Labor Day was in the high 80's to low 90's and we brought breakfast and lunch for 5 days. We needed two coolers which allowed for all the drinks and food which gave us a great side by side comparison. The YETI far surpassed the plastic insulated cooler held more food and was even light enough for me to carry and I'm not a large or very strong woman. I waiting so long to buy this because it was very expensive but I now know it was worth every penny. Bravo YETI.

Perfect for international travel

I used this cooler to transport cryovacced meat from Australia to a remote location in Indonesia. This journey takes 3 planes and a 2hr bus ride; in total 36hrs from door to door. Remove the strap and the cooler goes in as checked luggage with no hassle at all. If needed it is the right size to go in overhead locker.I prechill the cooler and load it up with bacon, salamis, pepperoni, proscuitto, steaks, cheeses, cherry ripes, freddo frogs, frozen sausages etc, it fits a lot!!! By the time I reach home the sausages are only partly frozen (still good) and everything else is still "refrigerator" cold.I recommend this to anyone and as with any soft cooler remember to prechill before use!

THE Perfect Soft Cooler

Needed a soft cooler for the pool/softball/everyday use and this is perfect. I really don't understand the complaints about the zipper because once you get it a few times its super easy to use. I've never even used the stick of lube that was included with it. It keeps ice for at least a day and even when it does melt the drinks inside stay could multiple days after that. Its even easy to put in a freezer to prep it before you use it. I HIGHLY recommend getting this cooler and would ignore all other reviews with any criticisms.

Unbelievable Cooler!

Our son recently secured a job in Japan. In order to travel to Japan and stay for a year, he needed to take a large supply of medication that needed to be kept within a certain temperature range at all times. We started reading about how to protect the meds while traveling 25+ hours, and then staying weeks in a hotel while waiting for his assignment (so much info on the internet, but nothing we could count on). Yeti bubbled to the surface as the premier cooler and a trip to Dick’s ensued. We purchased the Hopper Flip (18). It took several iterations of how much ice to use and how long the temp would hold, but eventually we got it right. The meds and “ice” fit perfectly and the proper temps were maintained for the 32 hours from Pennsylvania to Tokyo. After his arrival, our son put the meds in the hotel fridge and found that the fridge was actually less reliable than the Yeti!! Fast forward 10 weeks. Our son has moved to at least a half dozen different hotels and has relied each time on the Yeti to protect his expensive medication. Having the Yeti perform at this level has eased his (and our) mind and allowed him to enjoy his travel experience instead of constantly worrying about whether or not his meds are safe. We can’t thank Yeti enough for living up to the hype!!! Perhaps other travelers can learn from this experience. We are true believers!

Yeti 18 pack soft cooler

The Yeti cooler absolutely does not keep ice any better than the R-tic cooler I had prior or the coleman cooler. The advertisement about Yeti coolers keeping your items on ice longer is not true. For example: I packed my yeti the way the company suggested about 1pm. The cooler was outside in 80/85 degrees weather for about 6 hours. Then it was brought into an air conditioned home the rest of the evening/night. At 9am the next morning there was no ice but the water was very cool not real cold. $300 wasted on a cooler that did not perform any better than a $100-$125 cooler with same capacity. Save your money, yeti is not worth the extra $$. No extra value whatsoever
