26 oz bottle is a great performer

Excellent construction quality and powdercoated exterior, my custom-etched graphic is accurate and well placed, nearly aligning with the cap handle when closed (possibly intentional in their etching fixture (hard to know for sure but looks great). The seals in the 2 caps (the cap to the chug cap and the chug cap itself) are pliable and seal well w/o needing to tighten excessively, and the high-pitch threads in the cap to the chug cap allows for fast removal w/ less than 3/4 of a turn, so not an annoyingly fine thread. Great for office desk if leave off the chug cap cap, unless you're taking it somewhere, then just spin on that uppermost cap. Keeps ice water very cold all day and night, you'll run out of water before the ice melts. I love Yeti products! I have several models, including the 30 oz. Tumbler and the 10 oz. stackable mug. Such high quality and they keep cold things cold all day long! Hot things don't stay as hot for as long, but they stay hot long enough for me. I had a plastic 32 oz. water bottle and it was fine, except that by the middle of the day the water was room temperature and by the end of the day it tasted plastic-y and it's difficult to properly clean all of the crevices to prevent mold. And forget about leaving it in the car in the summer while you run errands! Plus, if it gets turned sideways or upside down in my work bag, it leaks - onto my laptop! I will continue to purchase Yeti products for myself and as gifts as long as the quality and customer service remain the same.

Great Bottle, Almost Great Cap

I bought this bottle to compare to other bottles I have (HydroFlask, Orca, RTIC, Camelbak) and I have to say I came away thoroughly impressed. As far as the first impression, I am a really big fan of the Highland Olive color, the texture on the outside provides decent grip, and it is overall a very slick looking bottle. Thermal regulation seems to be up there with (or better than) the HydroFlask and RTIC (the Orca and Camelbak bottles are also good, but the Hydroflask and RTIC are a step ahead of them), although I did get it a little late in the year to really test it out in the Georgia summer, I will look forward to doing a head to head comparison next year. While other brands have similar ideas with different executions, and some are even included as standard (the Orca and Camelbak caps are nice, but I have on multiple occasions not secured the small caps properly leading to leakage), the chug cap is one of the better designs out there right now.That being said, the only issue I have with the bottle is the two piece design of the chug cap. While I have found it easy to drink out of while still having the ability to open it up all the way to add ice and fill easily, I do wish that the lip around the bottom section was a little thicker so that it would be easier to grasp when either opening to add ice/liquid, or when I am trying to make sure I only open the chug cap. The MagDock cap looks like it would solve that issued, but at the expense of the carry handle, and I would also be worried about dropping that cap or knocking it off the "dock" and then I would be stuck with a bottle with no cap. I realize this is a VERY minor issue, and one I am more than willing to live with, so really this should be more like a 4.75 stars instead of 5.Overall the drinking experience with the Rambler bottle (with the chug cap) is easy and the bottle definitely performs as one would hope it would for such a pricey water bottle. Are there cheaper bottles out there? Sure. Do I feel a slight bit self conscious drinking from a YETI bottle? A bit. But ultimately, this seems to be a REALLY well designed and made bottle that should last for quite some time and that is the most important thing.

The second part of the cap Is made out of a much softer kind of black polymer with a large handle, but a very small thread. With time, the black part of the cap Seems to undergo what’s called creep deformation, which is the result of prolonged stress over a long period of time. In this case, it’s about 2 to 4 months. As you screw the cap on, it will slowly screw down further and further, until you eventually strip the threads all together. Ice melts faster than the unavailable original cap

Bought to replace my lost 26 oz. with the "original" cap. The metal band at the top gets cold when ice is inside the bottle. This suggests that there is heat transfer happening which did not occur with the 26 oz. It matters less that the ice melts quicker since 18 oz. will be consumed quicker. Still, you expect a YETI to be a YETI and if I wanted to pack it for later this would be an issue. The narrow circumference of the 18 oz. makes the chug cap seem superfluous and it adds considerable overall weight. Seems like it is more than twice the weight of the original cap. When empty it feels top heavy. I wish the chug cap were optional. I didn't look at the pictures closely enough to realize that the cap cannot be screwed in WITHOUT the chug portion attached. If it does, I would still use the chug cap, but again wish it were optional and that an original cap were available for purchase or we had the option to choose at time of purchase. I don't even see the original cap as a purchase option. Hopefully this isn't the case. Why fix something that isn't broken?

This is my everyday carry bottle for a reason...

I have had this bottle for months now, and hands down it is my favorite bottle of all time. It holds cold and hot. It does everything, camping, horseback riding, office sleeping (working of course), and most importantly carrying everywhere I go. 18 oz fits almost every drink you can get out and about, it is also not super heavy. I would also like to summarize my experience with every Rambler Lid Available:Chug Cap-This cap to me is the ideal middling option. It is the default of most Yeti Rambler Bottles for a good reason. It allows for cold drinks to be refiled very quickly. My grandmother (80 years old) can open these without an issue. It is my favorite cap if I NEED a handle. The biggest benefit of this cap is that it allows for quick 1 handed access to any size Yeti Rambler Bottle without the need to lift it off a desk or above your chin. The biggest negative in my opinion is that it uses a straw, and those that struggle with straws know they make you burp, they can cause leaking all over the bottle, they also are not to great for your intestines/stomach overall.Hotshot Cap-This is my best friend’s favorite cap. I swear his blood is half coffee at bare minimum. This cap is good for hot drinks, and is now also sold as a default for Yeti Rambler Bottles. Just like the Chug Cap, this is a default for a reason. If you are the opposite of me, and drink 90% hot drinks and 10% cold then this was made for you. The negative of this cap is that fitting my big fingers inside to release the goodness is difficult.Magdock Cap-My first love was the Magdock Cap. It solved all issues I had with the Chug Cap. You may place the lid on the side, it matches my Gallon Jug’s cap, you can fill the bottle easily, and I CAN USE IT IN MY TRUCK with one hand. However, the saddest part of this lid is the loss of the handle, and that may be a deal breaker for you. For me, this has demoted it to my second favorite cap. I’d recommend getting the Yeti Sling to go along with it.Cup Cap-My current love for a very specific reason… I like that my drinks can cool off or return closer to room temperature in my work office. I also, grew up with these types of caps on my insulated bottles. This cap keeps its temperature far better than the other ones; however, this might be a personal antidote. It is also a TANK, the weight feels so good, its sooo well made. The largest negative to this cap is how you lose access to the handle. I’d recommend getting the Yeti Sling to go along with it.

WORST PRODUCT TO DATE, NO More Yeti purchases

What a waste of time and money. I used to rave about my yeti products, NEVER again. I'm a long term user and have what I call the OG totally stainless thermos design. Something has to have changed (mine first ones weight more than what they now advertise). Short version: 3 thermoses, side by side did NOT perform the same. The only one worth the money spent was one of the old school versions. The 2 new, colored ones are CRAP. I wasted money on two bigger ones, thinking I was buying the same product. I will never again recommend Yeti. All thermoses were chilled in the fridge over night and had the same drink mix. We opened the smaller one and life was good. We opened this one, and it literally BLEW UP. It got so warm it fermented!!!! Mind you, it was only out of the ... MoreWhat a waste of time and money. Works great, But...

It's the perfect size for a single cup of coffee and keeps it hot during my train commute to work...or driving around, or whatever I'm doing that morning. The only BIG problem is that the lid leaked badly right out of the bat at the seal between the stainless rim of the container. Unscrewing, tightening, retightening, loosening a pinch, etc did nothing. I was REALLY bummed. All of the other Yeti gear I have has been bulletproof, almost over engineered and works as intended.The simple fix is to remove the lid gasket and reseat it. I should have done that when I did the initial wash/rinse before filling and running out the door.
