A leaky mess. Stronghold needs a serious rethink.
For keeping your drink at temperature, this is a great mug. For keeping your drink INSIDE the cup? Not so much.I got this based on the “leak resistant” wording, in the belief that it would suit my klutzy, outdoors and constantly on the go life- chuck the empty cup in my bag, and I’d have no need to worry about that last tiny drizzle talking out my laptop. Put it beside me on a chair or bench, and have plenty of time to right it before the papers it’s fallen onto are drenched beyond repair?Unfortunately, not quite. If the slider is closed, it loses around 3-5ml/second from under the slider itself. That’s the opposite of leak resistant. Having pulled it apart and adjusted the gaskets, it’s pretty clear that the leaking comes down to two poor design choices. Firstly, having channels on both sides of the lower slider completely negates any benefit from the gasket. Could easily be fixed by filling that side in on the master molds. On the upper, a gasketed lip of 1-2mm designed to fit the spout would provide some further protection.Highly disappointed at just how close this came to being exactly what I needed, and yet it landed so far away as to have been a detriment. Here’s hoping that the slider is updated quickly, and replacements offered to everyone who’s purchased under the premise of some protection from leaks.... Great Disappointment - Leaks all over
I purchased the 887ml Rambler Travel Mug as a birthday gift for myself. I am so disappointed that I spent my hard earned money on this mug. I cannot tip it without it leaking from between the mug and the lid. Yes, I have ensured it is aligned properly when I screw the lid close. Yes, I have checked that the lid it tight enough. Yet, I have coffee all over my office desk.I am used to much less expensive travel mugs that keep my coffee hot that I can literally throw in my purse without having to worry it will leak all over.I think there is a severe deign flaw with the mug/lid and the price point is not justified. I am very disappointed as I was so excited to have this in my favourite colour and had waited to purchase for some time.... Show more

Item Purchased as Gift; Appears Well-Manufactured
Unfortunately, ignoring previous email attempts to elicit a review have resulted in even more email requests for said review, so I'm providing what I am able given that the item was purchased as a gift and will not, personally, be used by me. Online ordering was a breeze and I appreciated having a selection of size, style, and color choices from which to choose. I also decided against a handled tumbler based on the reviews others posted referencing the lack of space between the tumbler wall and handle. Obviously, why apply a handle if a number of hands do not fit through it?! The tumbler appears well structured and the navy is a pleasant color. I have no way of knowing how well it will hold up to wear and tear, nor how well it keeps beverages hot or cold. A cursory glance at the magslider lid shows it easy to use; we'll see how it, too, holds up to use. If my father uses it and feels positively towards it, then I intend to purchase ones for my husband, father-in-law, and brother as well.... Show more

Keeps my cold drink COLD!
Bought this to help me start drinking more water throughout the day and I have not been disappointed. From the first day, it has worked wonderfully at keeping my cold water COLD for hours on end, ensuring that I'm not constantly having to run to the fridge or the water cooler to get a new bottle/drink of "cold" water. I can fill this up in the morning, and still be sipping on ice-cold water through my lunch hour, and even at the end of the business day. The drink will (of course) eventually warm to room temp, but only after SEVERAL hours (like maybe 10-12) of just sitting here. I have not used this for any hot beverages but only because I have the 14-oz. YETI tumbler that I use for my coffee every morning. (Both share my desk space with me and are never far from my ... My Yeti survived a house fire!
Good evening and Happy New Year! I have to share my story about my Yeti cup and it’s a great one! On Wednesday, December 23rd we unfortunately had a house fire. Luckily, the entire house was not lost but downstairs will have to be completely renovated. I have a large Yeti tumbler that my mom custom ordered for me about 5 years ago and I use it everyday. The tumbler was sitting on the counter next to the stove and during the fire. I thought for sure that it was a goner. When we were able to go inside the house the next day to start surveying the damage, my husband brought my Yeti cup out to me. It had survived the fire!!! The seal on the lid had remained intact but the plastic lid itself had melted. When we removed the lid we were shocked to find that there was still ... MoreGood evening and Happy New Year! I have loved that tumbler and it means even more to me now. I ordered a replacement lid that came in 2 days ago and I am still using the cup!!! I just thought I would share our story and maybe now you might have a new slogan! We love your products and if my drink can survive a house fire and still be cold then I can’t imagine any company who can top that!! Thank you for letting me share and have a wonderful 2023!!... Poorly Designed Lid - No options available
Received a Rambler Tumbler as a gift.Like other negative reviews, the MagSlider Lid is poorly designed for the purpose.1) The opening is too wide for coffee while driving, or even having it on your desk for spill protection. Invariably, coffee or any liquid will roll down your cheek and get on your clothes while drinking.2) While the design was never intended to seal 100%, the MagSlider Lid is very disappointing. Accumulated coffee that settles on top of the lid while driving smooth parkways is enough over a 11 mile commute to spill over the sides of the Rambler Tumbler and into the car's cup holder.Unfortunately, Yeti does not offer a better lid for purchase. I expected so much more from Yeti.... Show more

The coffee taste a lot better than my old mug
I used it for a few weeks. It has a superior isolation. The magnet open/close tab is genial, so easy to remove and clean. I was wondering if the black lid of my previous stainless steel coffee mud, quite old but I didn't use it until two years ago, was responsible for the coffee not tasting so great, it was.The transparent lid gives a lot more confidence than a black lid, at least for the old one I was drinking from. It fits perfectly in the cup holder of my car, unlike my previous one, but it was not an issue anyway. Expensive but this is a quality product. The only drawback is that it takes 15 minutes to go to work and I stay in my car listening to music for another 20 minutes drinking my coffee. Expensive but this is a quality product. The only drawback is that it takes 15 minutes to go to work and I stay in my car listening to music for another 20 minutes drinking my coffee. Don't put too hot water in it, even without the lid, it takes forever to remove the heat. When I finish work and the cup was exposed all day in a hot sunny day, the remaining coffee, because I don't have the time to drink it all in the morning in my car, is very hot and still very good. I want to point out this because with my previous mud, the coffee was not so good, but it gave me a hint about the black lid being responsible, since the mug was in stainless steel, it was.It takes two seconds to remove the magnet tab and to clean the lid. I do it once a week and it is not dirty because I rinse the mug and the lid before putting coffee in it in the morning. I just slide the magnet tab while rinsing it and I don't bother. If there is dirt, it would be easy to see with the transparent lid. It never happened to me but i check while rinsing or drinking. So, the transparent lid, the sliding magnet tab and the quality of the lid not changing the taste of the coffee are the main points. The fact that I said superior isolation is not so important to me but it could for people who travel.... Show more

The ice in my water doesn't melt overnight!
Impressed with all my Yeti products, so I was a little disappointed with this 30 oz mug. It took a while to get used to it but after learning how to drink from it (does anyone find it hard to believe that I had to learn to drink from a mug!?!), I use it regularly from waking to sleeping. It keeps my ice water cold all day - I refill it three to four times a day. The stronghold lid is exactly that (so far) - strong. It is advertised not to be leakproof, but my experience has been that it IS leakproof. When I accidentally knock it over, and the magslider is closed, my drinks have not spilled at all.I learned that the secret is not to overfill it! It is advertised not to be leakproof, but my experience has been that it IS leakproof. When I accidentally knock it over, and the magslider is closed, my drinks have not spilled at all.I learned that the secret is not to overfill it! There has to be some space between the lid and the ice for the lid to seal properly. And most importantly, the liquid inside cannot be overfilled, lest the lid touches the liquid before the lid is screwed on. When the lid is screwed on and moves into place, the volume of liquid displaced by the lid apparently moves into the threads between the lid and mug and when you take a drink, allows the liquid to migrate thru the threads, between the lid and mug, around your lower lip, down your chin and onto your shirt, as so many have complained. My experience has been that after that volume of liquid has been absorbed by your shirt, the leakage stops.Another common complaint is the slow flow of the drink passing thru the lid. I agree with this complaint, but I have not experienced any leakage when turning the mug upside-down to try to increase the flow of my drink. My only "success" in increasing the drink flow has been to drink normally and touch my upper lip to the magslider so that the liquid passing thru the opening seems to flow faster - but maybe that's just my imagination.Nevertheless I am impressed with this mug and will continue to use (and not abuse) it! I also like that the shape of the mug fits into my car's cupholders so I can easily reach it and put it back.... Show more

Works well- Improvements over previous design
Works well! LOVE the handle, twist on lid is a huge improvement! I used to not look forward to removing the lid, now it's so easy and a non issue. Also, with the stronghold lid I can turn the entire container upside down with liquid inside and it doesn't leak. Pretty amazing! Disclaimer- I have twisted the lid on wrong or loosely and have not closed the slider right and have had leaks, but very far few and in between, and corrected immediately when I screwed the lid on correctly. I usually use a straw in the opening so I don't pay close attention to how I screw on the lid. In a perfect world this would be less bulky but it is a 30oz container so it is what it is. Keeps cold drinks cold for a long time.... Show more

Yeti 30 ounce Rambler with mag slide lid
I am overall satisfied with the capacity, workmanship/build and usefulness of this Yeti tumbler. I find the size to be more than adequate whether it be for my morning smoothie, tea or coffee. It is equally good to use for both hot and iced drinks and performs as expected. The tumbler is dishwasher safe should you choose to go that route. I much prefer this particular model to their smaller 20 ounce version because of the extra capacity. The lid functions well although I would never suggest putting this tumbler in your backpack/duffel. This is more of a home/office/commuter item and in my opinion is best kept upright. I like this tumbler for the reasons stated and would recommend to anyone looking for a larger capacity insulated tumbler.... Show more
