I'm sure you've seen the youtube reviews talking about this being a "game-changer" and are wondering if this really is the camp coffee holy grail?...i know i sure was. After several positive reviews, I ponied up the excessive cost and brought this with eager anticipation. Big flaws like this are quite rare for Yeti, so it feels like they've rushed this one out.Lets go with the good:- Really sturdy solid construction- typical YETI quality- Looks really cool- Easily to clean at camp- Will make coffee as you would expect- Pitcher doubles as excellent 1L beer stein!- Not made of glass so no risk of shattering from dropping at camp or in transitAnd the bad:-Because there is a large hole in the lid to pour the coffee out of with no cover like other yeti products the coffee doesn't stay warm nearly as long as you would expect (1-2hrs max). Kinda makes the whole thing a bit pointless (its main claim is the throughout the day usage!) and renders the grounds filter redundant.- The "grounds control" is just a rubber disk that doesn't perfect seal and actually traps the silt on top of it. It seems like this should work when explained but it just doesn't really do anything and doesn't really prevent over extraction as that just isn't how it works (See James Hoffman's wonderful vids about it). Just getting good water and good beans will stop bitterness more than a piece of rubber that doesn't actually fully seal off the grounds- If you unscrew the plunger shaft from the filter when its plunged it gets stuck inside the pitcher and its a major issue to get it out. The store attendant spent ages trying to wiggle them out when i was there.- Because its not clear/glass and there is no markings on inside its impossible to accurately know who much liquid you've put in there and if you overfill it the grounds get all over the custom lid. Means you either need to have additional meaning tools or you get a different brew each time.Lets also talk about the elephant in the room- the cost. A$160! I mean, just let that sink in for a minute. That's around double the benchmark Bodum french press, and about $130 more than kmart's offering. Hopefully you agree that at A$160 it has to be flawless and do something new in the space, but it just doesn't. If this were A$85, then i'd say this is pretty good and represents a well built french press for the camp kitchen but, its double that so its kinda in the category of overpriced brand hypeI love YETI stuff but I think for this product your money is better spent on a cheap and easily replaceable french press, then the left over on the many other great camping items you can buy... or just buying better quality beans and a nice YETI tumbler!

I bought this to encourage my second grader not losing any water bottle... and hydration during the school hour. The color is catchy yet gentle for both boys and girls; it mimic the color of sunset after a good storm, a "Salmon Pink" we named it.The 18 oz weight and size is noticeable for a school age child to be aware of its absence (from the school backpack). The cap handle is very comfortable to grab and easy to attach to any backpack with a carabiner. The design of the cap handle allows easy retrieval from gym bag and from the ground, which to my opinion, is very important. This water bottle was dropped a few time on hard pavement and still kept up with the appearance and the performance, just more "rugged-looking." This is a great and functional bottle. It’s my favourite in terms of the amount it holds, functionality, and especially aesthetic. However, I dropped it once and the scuffs are pretty bad already (oh well, more character). One thing that bothers me is that the design process was overlooked. When you twist the cap tightly to close the bottle, the yeti logo at the bottom of the bottle and the cap aren’t aligned down the centre. (For example, in the image preview, the yeti and bottle cap look aligned). This is a little flaw noted with all my other Yeti bottles too. A small detail, but for the price you’re paying, I think it should be a part of the design thought process.Apart from this, power pink is a statement and I consider it fashion lol5/5 Colour, ... MoreThis is a great and functional bottle. We love our Yeti 64 oz press pot!Pros: super durable, porcelain is very easy to clean between uses, 64 oz size is great for a group (we bought ours for our travel trailer), keeps coffee warmer over a longer period of time than our glass model.Cons: The lid is so well sealed, if you let the spent coffee grounds cool too much, it suctions the lid on suuuper tight and it was difficult to get off. A small amount of coffee remains with the grounds and needs to be cajoled out of the press pot. Similar to others, the lack of lid cover over the pour spout is just an obvious miss for Yeti. So we improvise and use a super classy folded up paper towel in the lid hole once poured to preserve heat.Overall, pros far outweigh the cons and we look forward to years of use out ... MoreWe love our Yeti 64 oz press pot!Pros: super durable, porcelain is very easy to clean between uses, 64 oz size is great for a group (we bought ours for our travel trailer), keeps coffee warmer over a longer period of time than our glass model.Cons: The lid is so well sealed, if you let the spent coffee grounds cool too much, it suctions the lid on suuuper tight and it was difficult to get off. Yeti always rates 5 stars for the many products I own, but the recently ordered 64 Oz French Press came disassembled and I could not out the grounds filter, mesh plunger and wiper gasket because it came separated from the threaded steel rod. The lid precluded me from screwing the rod into the filter assembly so I had to use a needle nose plier which scratch the enamel. I was unable to use the web site to pass on advice to ensure the problem was fixed. The representative was unsympathetic. Coffee was drinkably warm for 45 minutes at best, not hours as advertise. The French Press did keep liquid cold for three plus hours. The medium rating is primarily due to the inability to contact Yeti via their website with either Safari or Chrome and my disbelief that the ... MoreYeti always rates 5 stars for the many products I own, but the recently ordered 64 Oz French Press came disassembled and I could not out the grounds filter, mesh plunger and wiper gasket because it came separated from the threaded steel rod. Despite the above concerns, I plan on ordering the smaller version with pour lid as I love the ability to pour liquids from the container. This time I will send it back if disassembled.
Sturdy. Easy to use. Pretty color. Love the handle. No leakage or sweating from condensation so far - summer in FL is coming though! Love that the mouthpiece is one continuous piece of hard plastic. It’s one of the main reasons I bought it. Other bottles have mouthpieces that are rubber and they tend to stretch and then not close properly when folded close or you have to use your finger to help open them when they get stuck. Yuck: germs! The straw itself is cut diagonally on one end and I didn’t notice this the first time I removed it for cleaning. I believe that end goes back into the mouthpiece as it seems to fit well. Only thing I don’t like is that you can’t completely clean the mouth spout section. You can clean about an inch from each direction but not all the ... MoreSturdy. Easy to use. Pretty color. So far, I've been impressed. The ONLY reason I bought this particular metal press was because I hoped the "ceramic" coating would protect against the metal changing the flavor of my brews. I've never liked how coffee ends up tasting when kept in a stainless steel thermos. Initially there was some mild, unknown flavor imparted, but fortunately that disappeared after a couple brews and ever since my coffee tastes just as it did in my previous glass presses which have each broken. Hopefully the interior coating does not degrade in any way. I'm very glad, considering how much this press cost.Personally, I scoop out any floating grounds before I pour, so that the pouring is faster, easier. I also removed a rubber disc which only seemed to slow the pour. Maybe it's ... MoreSo far, I've been impressed. I'm always drinking right away and don't need it to be hot for hours.
It’s a great product except for a few things. This first thing may be my fault but I have been pretty careful lately to no avail. The top seal around the clear lid doesn’t seal well enough to prevent coffee from getting past it. No matter what I do it seems like there is always a drip that runs down the front. Now it may be my fault because I remove that seal to clean it so it may not be sitting correctly. But I have made it a point to make sure it is as much as I can I buy yeti because it works and their designs allow me to completely take it apart to clean it. However I haven’t be able to completely take apart the press/lid. I can get everything apart except removing the clear plastic lid from the stainless steel rod. Just picked this up today with the 20% sale/my points. I familiarized myself with a red one in the store, but bought the Navy and assumed it was good since it was brand new. I got it home and the plunger was stuck at the bottom with the rod unscrewed. You cannot remove the plunger rod from the lid so I could not get the rod low enough into the canister to attach it. I tried multiple methods finally trying a butter knife. The white "ceramic" coating scratched in several locations with little effort. Hopefully, you won't have this problem as long you the plunger doesn't get pushed all the way to the bottom without the plunger rod attached. a few things from my experience:- i preheat the carafe w/ hot water prior to usage- agreed (as others stated), the lid does leak from time to time.. not bad, but a littleexpected b/c of the simple o-ring seal / lid design around the spout- a little bummed there’s no way to close the pour spout to trap steam and heat (i throw a couple dish towels over it)- and lastly, we recv’ed ours with a deformed press screen (mfr defect for sure). having completed a warranty form, a YETI rep replied immediately and offered a lid/press mechanism replacement. got the new part quick and w/ zero defects. (4 of the little plastic arms that hold screen were bent and compromised).that customer support was awesome and made all the difference. makes great, strong coffee and ... Morea few things from my experience:- i preheat the carafe w/ hot water prior to usage- agreed (as others stated), the lid does leak from time to time.. not bad, but a littleexpected b/c of the simple o-ring seal / lid design around the spout- a little bummed there’s no way to close the pour spout to trap steam and heat (i throw a couple dish towels over it)- and lastly, we recv’ed ours with a deformed press screen (mfr defect for sure). having completed a warranty form, a YETI rep replied immediately and offered a lid/press mechanism replacement. got the new part quick and w/ zero defects.
