When you see the brand yeti. Your pockets instantly start hurting. Because it is super expensive. Clearly even though I think that. I still buy the brand. I don’t have any pictures of it in action. But was super thrilled when I received my purple one. I must say. It is great cooler. I use mine for baseball games and the beach and hot summer days with small get togethers. Which is what I wanted mine for and use it religiously for. And it does work. With the right amount of ice or ice packs. Your food and drinks will stay cold for days.

My husband and I are avid campers, road trippers , and sun chasers. We also live in south central Texas and it’s HOT. We’ve tried a million coolers in our lifetime ( you can see there’s a stack of them on top of the yeti) and Yeti is the only line of coolers that keeps ice from melting and lasts for multiple days. We spend a lot of time on the gulf coast camping and fishing where there is no service and no commodities. You have to pack your coolers for the duration of your stay or else drive the 40 miles back onto the mainland to get supplies. Obviously it’s hot, it’s sunny and you’re exposed to several different elements that you wouldn’t think affect a cooler but do ( wind, sand, humidity). I was so impressed with the performance of this cooler when we took it for its first spin. Ice barely melted after 72 hours and that’s after opening and closing it constantly to get food and drinks.it shuts VERY tightly with rubber wedges. It’s easy to carry with gripped sturdy rope handles. Has good traction so it doesn’t slide around in the bed of the truck. It’s awesome. It’s worth the money. Just buy it already.

OK, I already had one, but I needed a 2nd. And I got it in the cool Arctic Blue color. We have definitely become a YETI family. I still can't believe how long things stay cold in this cooler, even in the heat of summer in a hot car. I bought a 2nd actually for grocery shopping trips. We live about 1.5 hours from the largest metro area, and occasionally I need to buy the things I can't live without. And often they are fresh and need to be in a cooler. Plus my favorite butcher is there too. The Yeti 45 fits perfectly back to front in the rear of my Forrester. And now I can bring two. It was definitely a strategic purchase and getting it with a small discount from Moosejaw helped.

Absolutely fantastic product. Have used it twice and it has blown me away. At first I used it like a regular cooler and it did an amazing job, still some ice after 4 days. Second time I followed all of the tips & tricks recommended by YETI and there was still ice after 5 days. The construction is very solid, the roller wheels are so much better than I expected - smooth, solid, virtually no noise on hard surfaces. Handle is beefy and made out of great materials. The only reason I have given it 4 stars is because I haven't used it long term yet so I'll come back after a year or so and re-rate based on my experience around how the cooler holds up over time and abuse.
We just took this bad boy on its maiden voyage—an overnight camping trip for a family of four. We pre-chilled overnight per the instructions, then packed it with hot dogs and s’mores supplies. The cooler sat in the hot car (Nevada in August) for several hours while we made pit stops along the way, and when we finally arrived at camp in the evening the ice had not visibly melted. We’re now back home and we’re keeping the ice in the cooler to see how long it will last: so far we’re on day three and probably 50%.This cooler was a big splurge for us (a birthday gift for my husband) but he really loves it and the quality is clear. We’re looking forward to many more adventures with it.
I purchased this Yeti 45 during memorial day weekend at REI in hopes that it would give me a superior ice chest keeping my goods cold. Unfortunately whether it was in the hot Sacramento heat at 113 or the Cooler Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah 80-95 temperatures on a three week road trip it continually failed. I tried pre-icing the cooler with ice and refrigerated cold goods the day prior leading up to my trips and no matter what I did or tried, Ice would melt anywhere between 4-6 hours every time leaving the entire ice chest full of water. I did as stated kept it out of the sun in a cool place, in the car backseat with the AC running continuously and this ice chest still failed miserably. Being defeated I bought a cheap Walmart brand Ozark 52 quart on my trip and surprise….. it lasted on average 48-52 hours before being full of water. I am highly disappointed as I spent $300 on this ice chest only to find out a cheap Walmart brand $100 ice chest works even better. Save your money and time and go with a different brand. Needless to say I brought it back to REI for a refund.
I’ll have to say I am not very impressed with this Yeti cooler. Will not keep ice for a day. Not sure if their quality has dropped now that they have many competitors or not. My brother in law left our coolers filled with ice over night so we were ready in the morning. His is a different brand and old and beat up. Doesn’t even latch closed. He had 80% more ice in the morning than I did with a brand new Yeti and latched tight. He still had ice in his that he had put in 2 days prior when leaving the house, My Yeti was completely melted in lest that 10 hours. Will be returning for a different brand.
This is going to be a very honest and hard review. I’m 42, an avid camper and have tried so many coolers which all leave me extremely frustrated. I camp in all climates. Anywhere from cold mountains, to humid beaches, and all the in between. I’m also not plentiful in the money aspect. Well after my last bout of beach camping in 2021 I said that’s it! I’m saving for a yehti. So I saved, and I saved, and I saved and 500$ later I got it. I took it to the beach in South Carolina first… and I could a cried it did so bad. I really didn’t see any difference in the way it held ice. So I’m in the mountains of Colorado now and it’s not much better. I’m so bummed. And sad. I am a big cooker when I camp/hike. In North Carolina a bear was trying his best to get into it. I found my cooler upside down dangling off a cliff. Complete with bear claw scratches lolSorry yehti, I would not buy again and wish I could return.

There’s simply no better cooler than a YETI.I camp in the low desert and the high desert, where it can be excruciatingly hot.Cheap “KOA Campground Coolers”, as I call them, are absolutely worthless if you want to keep your food/drinks cold for more than a day.Yes, YETIs are expensive, but they do the job of keeping food/drinks cold for many days.No wasted food!I have the YETI 65 for food, and the YETI 35 for ice, and now the YETI 45 for drinks.I’m set for a lifetime of good camping!I urge anyone who is serious about camping to invest in at least one YETI, more than one if you’re really serious. You won’t ever regret buying a YETI!And, as an added bonus, YETIs are bear-proof.
