The light has so many features. I was able to easily setup the sleep mode and wake mode on the unit. There are a decent amount of colors to choose from for either mode. You can manually set and play different types of sound. The types of sound include white noise, nature sounds, or what they call baby sounds (which are essentially different songs to play that are short that repeat over and over again, typically like 4 bars). Most of the "baby sounds" are decent and relaxing. Thr nature sounds are really good, one of the best selections and good ones at that. The only negatives I have to say about this sleep trainer us that the sounds are not included in the reoccurring night and wake setups. This is almost the perfect okay to wake clock. It is so easy to set up and customize and has a large variety of sounds and settings, and I love that you do not need a phone to opperate it. But, I was disappointed that the red light only stays on for an hour instead of all night like other sleep trainer clocks and when the light goes to yellow in the morning the bright light fills the room and wakes your kid up 30 minutes early (even on the dimmest setting). The included sounds are okay, but they were too high pitched/ hissy and hurt my littles ones ears, so we still have to use of main YogaSleep sound machine too. I am impressed with the backup battery, it accidentally got unplugged and still had the correct time when plugged back in. I was hoping this would finally ... There are 8 different colours with 4 different brightnesses. We use green (choice of our son) and on the dimmest setting. It’s less bright than the groclock.3 different sound categories: White noises, nature, lullaby’s/heartbeat with multiple sounds under each choice. I think there would be over 30 to choose from. We have had this clock for a couple weeks now and it has been a great addition to our kids’ bedroom. The choices of colors for the light and the huge number of relaxing sleep sounds make it really stand out from the other similar sleep training clocks I considered. I particularly love having the timed options for how long the sleep sounds are on. I normally just choose 45 minutes. The multitude of buttons and options are a bit overwhelming at first, but you quickly figure it out and now it’s easy to know what to press. Touching the top of the light cycles through different levels of brightness, which is useful when you need to locate something in a dark room and don’t want to turn on the light switch and wake others up. My son loves this night light. It is really helping my son’s sleeping schedule to be in track. There are so many soothing sounds to choose from. There are so many options designed in to this cute little sleep machine. We can set sleep schedules by choosing when the night light turns green, letting child know that it's time to rise to start their morning schedule. We can also adjust the brightness by tapping the top of the device. Simply program your desired bedtime and your desired wake time, and the yellow night light will automatically turn on 30 minutes before your desired wake time. Light to Rise must remain plugged into a power source in order to function. It doesn’t need any batteries. I would definitely recommend this.

I did find that even on the dimmest setting the light is still quite bright for our small room but we place a book in front of the unit to combat this so it’s a no biggie for us.Overall, we recommend this product. Set up was easy and the instructions were easy to follow (according to my partner who set it up within minutes), there are plenty of sound and light options for everyone and the light to rise function is awesome! I purchased this sound machine and rise to wake clock for my young children. It does not connect to Bluetooth nor WiFi. It has easy to use buttons on the back to customize all of your settings. My children love it and it has help them get more sleep. When they see the light is still red, they know to go back to sleep.The only thing I don’t like is that a soft yellow light turns on thirty minutes before the light turns green in the morning. This setting cannot be shut off. It was a little confusing for my children at first, although they did eventually understand that the yellow light meant it was almost time to wake up. My children are three and six.I am confident I will be buying more of these. The price is great for the quality of sounds, light, and settings. ... My problem with this device, which I didn’t know until I bought it and set it up, is that the time to rise light only stays on for one hour. So if your child wakes up after that hour, they don’t get the signal of what time it is.My son wants to come to our bed all hours of the night. We tell him he must wait till 5 AM, so we set the light for 5. Problem is, if he wakes up at 6 or later, he has no idea what time it is. In the winter, we don’t even get light in the sky until after 7.So if you don’t mind the hour limit, it’s a fine device! Just didn’t work for us. We ended up going with the Hatch, where you can program a light to stay on as long as you want.
