The Astrox 88d Tour is a great racket both for singles and doubles. It's great for generating power in smashes and great control for drives. However if you are better at the net, you might want to check out its counterpart, the Astrox 88s. This racket is decent at the net. Over all this racket is amazing.

Great racket for playing doubles especially if you are a back court player. This racket requires less effort for powerful smashes but 100zz gives you a stronger smash for sure if your main focus is to pull strongest smashes. Pros about this rackets are that its got wider sweet spot and shorter shaft for more effective and faster hitting. Only con I have is the price. I'd strongly recommend this racket to people who play at least 2-3 times a week and are intermediate in skills to notice the difference from lower level rackets.

Easy to use a mishit as the excuse for a string to break. My son used the racket for 10 minutes and went to hit the shuttlecock and two strings broke. Very discouraging after how much we paid with the extra batman print. Had to repeatedly call so that I could be told the best they could do was give me an instore credit and not a refund for the string and install. Now i will have to pay shipping again so that I can use the credit. My son has played for several years with no issues with rackets of all caliber and string tension.

Amazing doubles racketIf you are looking for a good doubles racket, this is it. They've made significant improvements on the 88D pro over the 88D just on the overall playability of the racket. You get basically the same good pop and power on your smash but has a much better rebounding snapback and less tiring than the 88D. Flat drive plays are very good although not as good as the 88S but still good enough for fast doubles exchange, but you do get the extra power from the back with this racket over the 88S pro. Net shots and front court handling are much better than the 88D. I've strung mine with the new ExBolt strings and it's just a joy to play with. Definitely recommend for avid doubles players.

Amazing racket

After reading many reviews for so many rackets, finally after long time I bought Yonex 88 S Pro and its a beautiful looking racket. It has amazing control and enough power. BadmintonHQ service was super quick. all my future rackets will be purchased from here. Well done!

Better than the 88D Pro for me
17 April 2022

Coming from headlight to even balanced rackets (over 20 years), I first bought the 88D Pro (4u), then bought the 88S Pro (4u) about 2 months later. Bought the 88D Pro because online reviews are generally more favorable than the 88S Pro. However, all down to personal preference as I felt the 88D Pro becomes too head heavy for me after a couple of games.88S Pro has a more suitable head weight for me, and just a better all rounder between the two rackets in a doubles match, and definitely easier to defend against smashes. Slightly shorter shaft so definitely makes net kills a breeze!Again, Badminton Click is just the best place to buy rackets. How did I only discover them this year?

For my son Harry

The product. I bought it for my 11 yr old boy who plays for Avon and Somerset. It’s an upgrade for him as he has up to now, used the Yonex 88D Tour. He says that he finds the sweet spot somewhat larger, more stable and he’s able to produce more powerful shots from the rear. He says the feel is somewhat greater (maybe he’s trying to make me feel ok with spending the money) He’s had it for only a week or two so his opinion may evolve..The service. Although the racquet turned up a week late, it was due largely to the courier. On the delivery date and time, I was in but no parcel come through. On looking at the courier app, the app showed the item was refused at point of delivery. I didn’t refuse it and phoned Badminton HQ and spoke to someone called Matt (I think). ... MoreThe product. On looking at the courier app, the app showed the item was refused at point of delivery. I didn’t refuse it and phoned Badminton HQ and spoke to someone called Matt (I think). Matt was very helpful and contacted the courier to advise me of a new date.I indicated on the courier app to have the parcel redirected to a neighbour. On the day, the courier still left a £150 badminton racquet unsecured outside my front door - maybe he didn’t read the redirection or couldn’t care. Either way, If I was a criminal, I could have reported it undelivered and caused Bandminton HQ and the courier company a problem. This is a common problem and I have such disdain for couriers I tend to try buy from companies who use Royal Mail.Given the choice I would not have purchased from Badminton HQ solely because they use couriers. Also, sourcing a Yonex 88D Pro right now is a rarity A shame since Badminton HQ was excellent.

One of best for doubles, for sure.
7 October 2022

Classic balanced yonex product for doubles with enough ability to lead attack smash alongside quick reaction to recover for next response. Ideal for net placing shots.Well balanced enough for back hand response with quality shot generation ability.Overall, a cracking racquet for doubles of Astrox series. VFM element is recognisable while hitting with it, especially when you only winning.

Second purchase from Badminton HQ and can't fault them on product price and delivery. Badminton HQ site if full of useful information about Racket types, helping to cut through the jargon and make an informed decision on your needs as a player. As for the Astrox 88D Pro, after a few hours playing, I definitely notice an improvement in the power i can generate with it during attcking.Highly recommend Badminton HQ and the Yonex Astrox Racket range.

great product and great price

first time purchase a Pro racket and it is worth the price. It is more solid and feel much better than the 88 S Game I had. pagage was being carefully handled. Overall is a great product with great price. The only thing disappointing me a little is it said the racket should be strung but received the racket without strings.
