Yonex adds another chapter to the VCORE 98, a spin-friendly weapon that combines great feel with easy targeting on full swings. For 2021 Yonex reengineers the beam, giving it a thicker cross-section in the head for added power and stability. Yonex has also widened the hitting area above the 3/9 axis, making for a more lively, spin-friendly and responsive contact zone. New technologies include Flex Force, a uniquely flexible graphite (NAMD-2) used in the lower hoop/upper shaft to help the racquet bend more optimally at impact. To increase spin-potential, the VCORE 98 comes with String Sync, a grommet design that helps the strings snapback more powerfully during impact. Additional technologies include a Vibration Dampening Mesh in the handle (think comfort), along an ISOMETRIC head shape, a time-tested feature that makes Yonex racquets feel generous and forgiving without compromising your connection with the ball. From the backcourt, the VCORE 98 not only feels solid when redirecting higher levels of pace, it also feels surgical on full swings. In addition to delivering the needed spin to bring the ball down hard, this stick moves faster than a traditional playerR019s racquet, giving you the all-court mobility to charge the net and finish points. With some impressive updates to the beam construction and feel, the VCORE 98 keeps getting better. Experienced players looking for the total package should start here.

a significantly more comfortable version than the last VCore. it’s my racquet if choice now.

Moving from several versions of Head Speed, this racquet is great on the serve and return. I can hit with more power and the string profile makes it more accurate. Great racquet!

The racket feels softer than it’s 66 stiffness index, but still performs great.

Awesome racquet
I recommend demoing this racquet first - somebody on a public court was kind enough to lend me his VCore 98 to try out - very happy to have tried it.When you hit your first ball with this racquet, do not be surprised to miss hit long. It is stiff, and very whippy and as a result, difficult to control. But once you get dialed in (roughly 30 min., yes, I've exceeded the half-an-hour mark on public courts to get dialed in) it is a great racquet.Serves: if you hit flat mostly, this serve is still achievable with good pace, but don't be surprised to add a little spin on your flat, naturally. The selling point was the second serve. If you have a threatening second serve (kick), seriously consider this racquet because you will be surprised as to how much spin and pace ... MoreI recommend demoing this racquet first - somebody on a public court was kind enough to lend me his VCore 98 to try out - very happy to have tried it.When you hit your first ball with this racquet, do not be surprised to miss hit long. If you have a threatening second serve (kick), seriously consider this racquet because you will be surprised as to how much spin and pace you will generate with almost machine-like consistency. Excellent stability.Groundstrokes: Good if you like to add spin. I've also noticed you can routinely sustain a good rally with ease as this racquet slices the air like butter. No noticeable instability.Volleys: have not tried due to time constraints, however this is a maneuverable racquet (judging from the groundstrokes) and I imagine it would be stable on impact, and controllable.
The racquet is lovely to play nicely balanced and the string pattern is just right. It's not too heavy so easy on the arm and the slightly larger head area gives a bigger sweet spot for more accuracy during match play. I would highly recommend this racquet.
Racket is for advanced level in my opinion. Great feel all round on all shots.Less powerful than some on serves but overall great feel when playing.
Great product, it’s supporting taking my game to another level
offers a lighter head weight for accuracy and control. fantastic flexibility in the frame. perfect for intermediate and advanced players
