This is our 3rd yoto. We love them and can't recommend them highly enough. I tell every parent I can about. The cards are great but we really love the make your own!! Our kids, nieces and nephew, and any friends that come over listen nonstop. Adventures in odyssey is what we made the majority of and they get listened to the most! Day and night, car rides, while they're playing, eating, doesn't matter. They're listening. Best money investment we've made, as far as "toys" go! No screen involved and it works for our 6 year old, up to the grandparents.

The yoto player is one of the best things I have ever purchased for my three year old.. He has always had a great love for reading/listening to stories with me so I thought getting one for his third birthday would be worth a shot, even though I was unsure as to whether or not he'd be a little too young for it.The yoto player has such a brilliantly simple, child friendly design, that he mastered all the controls within an hour or so and now absolutely loves being able to independently pick out and listen to all of his stories whenever he wants, and is able to carry it around anywhere.. I don't think there has been a day that's gone by in the last three months (since we first got it) where he hasn't used it.My 10 month old also actually really enjoys it, so I'd ... And I love that it's constantly growing. If you are on the fence, you won't regret getting one of these, it's so versatile and really will just grow with your child. It's been a perfect way to spend quality time with my little ones, it helps to foster their independence, it's a great educational tool, and is really good for calm down/quiet time.I also just love that it's screen free so it really gets them listening, thinking and using their imaginations.. I can definitely see this being used and loved for many years to come.I am not usually someone who goes out of their way to review a product, but I honestly have absolutely nothing that I could fault about the yoto player and I really could not recommend this product more. 10/10.

If it’s anything like the 2nd generation Yoto player it will malfunction just after the warranty expires (happened to BOTH of our Yotos), so I don’t have a lot of hope for its longevity. We had the second generation given to us as a gift when my son was about 3 hr old and once he turned 5, this became his constant companion. He broke the charging dock (easily replaced) and then dropped it (despite the adventure jacket) so hard he disrupted the on/off button into the unit. Despite being out of the two year warranty window, Yoto took the broken one back and gave us a 15% discount on a replacement (3rd generation). So far only complaint is the adventure jacket for a second generation is not compatible with the third generation, but perhaps he will be more delicate with this one
So far we love our Yoto! It has helped our 5yo manage a transition away from too much screen time (it was really hard to save this gift until Christmas). I'm about to add on the Yoto Club membership so she can pick out her own cards, which I think will be a fun way to get her into reading real stories. This will also help her car sickness, as she won't be looking at a screen. My only complaint is that the bluetooth feature doesn't work while offline. We recently rushed out the door and she left her cards in her room, so it was basically useless. I've knocked a star in hopes that this will be taken into consideration upon review. But really that is a minor complaint; I'll probably use my pack of make-your-own cards as backups for the car in case that happens again.
4 stars solo based on the comparison between this product and the mini Yoto. I wish Yoto would spend more funding on making the mini even more fun. The 3rd generation Yoto is quite bulky. I love Yoto, but I regret getting the 3rd generation Yoto. That said as a parent I love Yoto. Thank you for such an awesome product. My only request is more instrumental music cards and possibly more affordable prices especially when bull buying or on bundles. Thank you for reaching out for my opinion, that’s part of what makes Yoto so amazing. Have a wonderful day. Peace and Blessings, MJ Clark
We absolutely love our Yoto! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it sometimes glitches. It's nothing major, but occasionally the nightlight will randomly come on when it's sitting by itself, or the screen will show the volume being turned up when it's not. However, these are minor issues. The Yoto has truly helped us connect more as a family. We often turn on Yoto radio and have dance parties. Every morning, we listen to Yoto daily podcast together as a family. We also enjoy snuggling in bed and listening to stories. We have a great time playing the Jake says games and it brings us so much joy! We absolutely love it!
Get your kid off the iPad and buy this…(even if it’s just for a little). The stereo speaker is really great. Especially in comparison to the Yoto mini (which sounds flat). My daughter loves it. It gives her a little more independence. (Great addative with Montessori but obviously not necessary). It’s very easy to organize and to travel with. We use an earring card holder at home and a card wallet for traveling. Even more affordable if you do make your own card! I personally prefer it more to the Toonies because of the minimalism and organization. I already have a bunch of legos on the floor I don’t need expensive figurines on the floor too.
This product is dangerous trash. First of all, the wifi on it is terrible. It might not work at all depending on your wifi setup, but even if it does, it is an endless nightmare. And why does a product like this even require wifi? It is nonsense. Then, come to find out, they won't refund it, the cord is being recalled as a fire hazard, and they keep taking down the Amazon product page, and making a new one, so you can't return or review it. Now why would a reputable company keep needing to take down the product page and make a new one every week? These people are already responsible for injuring multiple children, and they just don't know what they are doing. Stay a million miles away from this thing. There are better companies making similar products.
Absolutely love the yoto. I’d read quite a few reviews before getting it but there’s loads of features I didn’t know about. My 6yo has had it for every bedtime now for nearly 2 weeks, we haven’t had to charge it yet. He can choose his own cards, skip tracks, choose volume. And I LOVE the kids radio option when you’re on the Wi-Fi! The radio reads out childrens birthdays, and plays simple children’s games etc, it’s lovely. I can see what music he is playing by checking the app, which track, how loud etc which is brilliant. I considered buying the rubber protective case as my son is quite heavy handed, but haven’t yet and the yoto is so solid that I’m not too worried.
