Easy to set up and use. Be aware that you really should have two of these gadgets both kept up to date with the second one as a secure backup. If you lost your main one it would be quite a hassle to get back into your accounts.

No a lot to it, fits on my keychain and work by either holding against my phone or plugging in to my laptop. once you have set it up it flashes when you need to touch it and that’s it. No need to beat the clock with pin codes before the counter finishes or copy and past text codes. You can add additional security pin to the key if you want. Almost indistinguishable wee thing made from some form of hard plastic polymer. Really please with it may get another one as you can duplicate the codes in case you lose one.

There are now inexpensive "toolkits" that allow the bad guys to set up phishing attacks that get around all forms of 2FA... except hardware keys. To the best of my knowledge, there is no way around a hardware key unless the user [messes] up and bypasses it themselves. As an IT professional, I generally tell my clients that SMS 2FA gets you 90% of the way there; TOTP (Time-based One Time Passcodes) gets you 99% of the way there and hardware keys are as close to 100% as you can get. Email, at least, needs to be absolutely secured, as an email compromise will allow a SIM swap which gets around SMS authentication. Get a couple of keys and try to keep them in different places. I recommend a minimum of 2; one stays with you on your keychain while the other can remain at ... MoreThere are now inexpensive "toolkits" that allow the bad guys to set up phishing attacks that get around all forms of 2FA... except hardware keys. I recommend a minimum of 2; one stays with you on your keychain while the other can remain at home or in your office. I use 3: one that never leaves my office, one that never leaves my home, and one that I keep with me. That way there's zero chance of losing access to all 3.

There is a lot of confusion around what the Yubikey offers, and how to effectively use it.So please do your research before buying this. And remember that you should buy TWO - you will need and want a backup key.It is important to remember that your security is only as good as the weakest link - so if you add a Yubikey, and don't remove SMS 2FA as an option, then you haven't actually improved your security! So if you use Gmail, you should turn on the Advanced Protection Program (after checking it suits your needs). And any service you do add the key to, remove the other 2FA options!Another issue is that not all websites/services offer a hardware key 2FA option. This is slowly changing, with Apple enabling it earlier in 2023, as well as increasing move to ... MoreThere is a lot of confusion around what the Yubikey offers, and how to effectively use it.So please do your research before buying this. I bought two keys, as one clearly needs a spare, and have registered them for use with a password manager. Clearly it takes longer to login, but otherwise the product works as advertised.
Straight forward to follow the instructions on the QR code website. Working well and providing extra piece of mind for my critical login points.
Easy to setup and use! Now I feel that my core online accounts are much more secure!
Great product. Works consistently. Easy to config with various supported services.
The Yubico YubiKey 5 NFC is a tiny, USB device that keeps the bad guys out of your accounts by adding a secure second factor to your login process. It works as a charm. Recommended.
works fine. In my case for ICP and google accounts. but it seems apple accounts do not support it
