Yves Saint Laurent - Le Cushion Encre De Peau Luminous Matte Cushion Foundation SPF50

Really wanted to like it as the packaging is gorgeous, I also like its scent, it’s a light and summery or slight aquatic scent. Coverage is medium, and I like the finish, it’s not matte or dewy, it gives me nice natural glow. My only complaint is the shade. It’s difficult to figure out what shade I am, as some Sephora locations don’t carry YSL, and the shade finder tool online doesn’t have any information regarding this particular product. I have a feeling this line just doesn’t have a great shade range. #25 is too light for me even in winter time, and I usually consider myself medium to light for Asian skin tone. So I had to return it as there’s no easy way to exchange for my online order.

Dried out cushions

I explained to customer service about the two cushions that I bought recently. They barely had any product in them and the sponge was dried out. I got it during their "sale" event so maybe they were old products.I bought 3 cushions prior to these ones and they were fine. Instead of offering to exchange it, I was told to return it for "credit" and not even for a refund. And I was told that I would have to pay for the shipping myself if the products are already opened, which I had to in order to use the product and come to a realization that they were dried out. I was also told to take pictures of the product to show proof that it is dried out; cannot do so without opening them.... Fabulous, gorgeous foundation

I am really impressed by this. I would leave a 4.5 stars because the shade range sucks. I received the shade 20, complimentary with a purchase, and man, it is absolutely beautiful. The packaging, even for the free trial size, is luxurious and fabulous. It completely erased my pores and my redness... I wear 2N in Guerlain L'Essentiel and 1.5 in Dior Backstage, and the shade 20 is really light for me. I might order the shade 25. I like that you get 50ml, for a cushion foundation, it's a lot. The wear time and finish is absolutely beautiful and worth every penny.

Good texture, but product not as great as I hoped.

I have medium-tan olive skin, that's normal to dry. I bought the B40 because I normally used a BD40 Touche Éclat Liquid Foundation that I love, and that's what the website was recommending. I don't have many features to cover, but I found the B40 wasn't even enough to coverage to look like I was wearing any foundation. This foundation applies like tissue paper light! The texture is a mix of damp and soft, that's slightly sticky to touch, similar to how my face feels without any foundation on. I thought this product would be more hydrating than my liquid foundation, but it's not. When it dries, it leaves my dry spots very visible. The smell isn't great either... Le Cushion Encre De Peau Foundation

Omg! Did you ever seen a high coverage cushion product like this YSL one. The texture is really moist and not sticky when you wear it on your face for 4-5 hours. It quite easy to use by using the sponge and apply the foundation on to our face. However, I could wish that i tested on my face before so I don’t buy the wrong shade. This one actually a little bit lighter than my actual skin. Overall, this cushion is the best one that I have seen and it easy than using foundation on your face the whole day. I try this for a week and my skin didn’t got worse in the other hand, others foundation are too thick and I get acne and pimples all over my face. I definitely recommend this product!

Life & time saver!

I use code B30. Have been using this cushion for almost 5 years now. Such a life saver as it reduces my makeup time, easy to apply & very convenient to bring anywhere for touch-up. Good job YSL!For 1st time user, I would advice you to go to the any YSL branch & consult with their beauticians as they can assist to choose & apply different shades on your face so you can decide which shade is the best for your skin. Do not blind buy online as different foundation might have slightly different shades when applied on your skin. Those in KL area, I recommend Pavilion KL as they had helped me a lot. Thank you!

No No No unless you want to ruin your skin

This cushion is a DISASTER. Fills your skin pores like crazy in a way that they look like scratched injuries. Skin peels off and a very weird grey white cast. I thought my skin will adjust and tried using it for couple of days hoping at least I get to use it atleast for few days. But no. It has made my smooth skin bumpy and full of small acne all over my face. Itchy and red. Highly perfumed. Save your money and stay away. All those reviews of this crap being great are bought reviews

Repeated order. This time unboxing is poor.

Been using this and reordered several times. Like the fragrance and glow. This time upon receiving it’s wrapped with the black paper (looks the same like before) but this time after taking out ever Items my hand full of black fine paper dust, even on the surface of my items. Have to wipe every item inside out. Unpleasant unboxing!!

SPF, does it have it or doesn't it? Luxe Product Though!

I received my foundation today and noticed there was a thin gold sticker on the packaging, after peeling off the sticker I saw the sticker was covering the writing "SPF 50**" which leads me to believe they updated the formula from whatever previous version was offered. There was also only Chinese Lettering on the back with no details in English. I don't think Shoppers Drug Mart would be peddling a fake product but I couldn't find much information on it.I used the online shade matcher and hoped for the best, as I am fair skinned but it actually is the perfect shade for me. The included applicator is a bit awkward and if you aren't careful with the application you can end up taking off the makeup you just put on. Very comedogenic!

I wanted to love this cushion because of 1) the very chic packaging; and 2) I was looking for a replacement for the old La Neige cushion to bring with my on my travels. Anyway, this was a NO GO for me. Not only are all the shades SO light -- I had to try three different shades and they were all very pale, but also by the end of the three days of three different shades, my skin was flaring up with acne all over. And I typically have glass skin! I looked at the ingredients closer and nope nope nope, there are no less than three highly comedogenic ingredients in there, and that's not including the very heavy fragrande. Hard pass -- if it breaks me out, I don't care how cute the compact is.
