I have bought two of this primer. It is a great primer, with an ever so slight luminescent finish. Not glittery or shimmery, just a healthy skin glow that can be worn alone. It doesn’t sit on top of your skin and doesn’t feel oily - just softens and blurs the surface. The packaging is heavy and substantial, heavy glass jar, makes you feel like you definitely got what you paid for. So why only four stars? While the packaging is substantial, the product luxurious and effective, when you get to the bottom of the bottle, there is quite a bit of product that is left with no way to get to. I bought the second bottle before I noticed and you are left at the end feeling cheated and wasteful. I won’t be purchasing again, but I did enjoy the two bottles, just don’t feel like ... MoreI have bought two of this primer. It is a great primer, with an ever so slight luminescent finish. I had got 2 sample bottles from an online purchase I made and I set them in my primer drawer for whenever I needed a new one. Well the last two months (Since my birthday Sept. 20th) I have been buying and trying a bunch of different foundations, my skin has changed a-lot over the last year and it made my Base application go on bad. My skin was always oily and now its combo but with bad dry patches and very oily T Zone. And I tried so many foundations and I hate returning things but no matter what I tried as a primer nothing looked right. Then I tried this magic potion aka Eclat Blur Primer and Had I used it during my foundation escapade, I might have liked them had I thought to try it sooner. So I made a purchase at Sephora before their sale ended. I did an exchange of the newest Pat McGrath palette, I hadn’t touched it (didn’t swatch it) it was part of an online order I had done in the middle of the night- last month. So I never wanted it didn’t remember buying it (and other items too). Luckily they told me that it would go through an inspection to determine if they would toss it or put out to be sold or made into the stores sample. She told me it passed. So with the $78 credit I bought few things and got the VIB Rouge discount and snatched this primer up right away, it was the last 1 in store too. My total after the credit + discount + gift card I had= I paid $4 difference, And walked out happy. This Primer makes my skin feel and loom smoother than a babies bottom. My skin looked plump and youthful, and my foundation looks amazing. It has made me put on makeup more the last two wks than I have in a Year. Theirs no dry patches anymore, my pores are hardly noticeable, it has a beautiful lit from within glow, it looks defused, its Non-comedogenic! Perfection in a bottle…

And I usually love this brand, too. This primer was a big letdown for me. It was too much. Too much oil, too much luminosity, too much silicone. Just too, too much. I can see how this might be beautiful on the right person, but I think for it to work you have to either use an extremely small amount, less than recommended, or have very dry skin. I couldn't get it to work on me. No matter how much I tried it left me too shiny and foundation did not stay, which is.pretty much the point. I have normal skin. If you like the idea and dislike the performance (get a sample, guys), Guerlain L'or is much better quality and works for more skin types. It looks similar down to the last detail, but I prefer this one.

Okay, so I felt like this product deserved at least a couple stars, because it did have a pretty finish under my makeup; however, this wasn’t a great experience for me… thus my 2-star rating. I’m not a huge fan of the silicone-feel that so many primers have, and always find myself steering away from silicone slip and over to the creamy/putty-type options that seem to grip your makeup a little more. Unfortunately, this product gave me the worst reaction. I don’t typically have sensitive or irritated skin - in fact, I can usually be a little tougher on my skin, because I have built up tolerance to acids and chemical peels over the years (I’m a stylist, esthetician, and salon owner, so I’m hooked on skincare!). I don’t typically have sensitive or irritated skin - in fact, I can usually be a little tougher on my skin, because I have built up tolerance to acids and chemical peels over the years (I’m a stylist, esthetician, and salon owner, so I’m hooked on skincare!). This primer left my skin actually feeling painful after just one use. My skin did not LOOK raw, but it felt it even basic, soothing moisturizers and post-peel/chemical soothing regimen didn’t calm to stinging for a few days. Also, even though I initially liked the look of the primer and how my makeup wore on top of it, I noticed that throughout the day, my makeup just didn’t last. It seemed as if my foundation just slid off my skin left my contour/blush areas feeling a bit muddy because the foundation was migrating. It was coming off onto EVERYTHING - phone, clothes, hands, etc. - and caused me more issues than I would’ve had just going in without anything - even without moisturizer - to prep the skin. I liked this idea of this product, and honestly WANTED to love it as much as I love so many other Yves Saint Laurent cosmetic products, but this one fell flat for me. I attempted one other time to try it again with a water-based foundation and very minimal, clean products in combination in case it was reacting to something else I was using alongside of it, but I had the exact same experience. At least my wallet is happy that I didn’t love it, and I’ll go back to my ride-or-die Elf Putty Primer that never fails me! The YSL Touche Éclat Blur Primer is B E A U T I F U L in the bottle, but it will remain just a piece of decor for my vanity, collecting dust, but looking cute!

I got a Deluxe Sample of the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Primer with one of my Sephora orders. I'm so glad I chose this sample! It's beautiful! This applies really well! It's a clear gel texture with tiny little gold flakes, that instantly absorbs into skin. The gold flakes are not glitter, they blend into the skin and reflect light, which leaves a gorgeous radiant finish. This Primer is amazing for skin! It has Corn Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Rice Bran Oil and Passiflora Oil! All of these oils nourish and soothe skin, and they smooth fine lines, wrinkles, pores and other imperfections! Touche Eclat Blur Primer can be used alone on bare skin and under foundation, I've used it both ways. On bare skin, it's gorgeous! It left my skin with a beautiful glow but it wasn't glittery! It blended in seamlessly with my skin and didn't leave any white cast. Under Foundation, this Primer made my makeup just glide right on! My makeup look absolutely flawless! It stayed on all day and the gold flakes still reflected light, even under makeup, which made my skin/makeup have a stunning radiance! And, I have to mention the packaging! Touche Eclat Blur Primer comes in a beautiful gold box. The bottle is just stunning! A clear glass jar/bottle with a Gold cover! Because it's clear glass, you can see the product... with all the gold flakes. The combination of the gold cover and the gold flakes makes this product extremely eye-catching!! This is one of those products worthy of being displayed on a vanity! If you haven't tried Touche Eclat Blur Primer you need to!! This is one of the best Primers I've used! I absolutely recommend!!

Gold Sparkle and Smooth Skin..

I love YSL products. A friend of mine recently applied my make up for a wedding. I do use Tacha primer. However my friend used YSL Douche Rclat Blur and Prime. My skin felt like glass, foundation went on smooth and the added gold pieces added a beautiful touch. My foundation never moved and no fine lines. I am 67 and I have cared for my skin all my life, however once in a while we need change as our needs change. It is pricey but a little goes a long way. I rotate between Tacha and YSL. This makes you feel beautiful and gives that special look for any occasion or just every day. You can wear it alone as well. If you apply too much it will pill up, but all products will do that if applied wrong. I even applied a small amount to top of my hands, and shoulders. ... MoreI love YSL products. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW WELL THIS WORKS
1 December 2022

I cannot use primers. For some reason it always makes my skin breakout in zips. I've tried probably at least 7 or 8 different kinds over the years. Some of them more expensive than this one. When I bought this I thought it would also make my skin break out. But it did not. Not only can I wear it under make up but I wear it alone at night and it gives me a beautiful glow without make up. I immediately went back online and bought another bottle. I just love it. Best of all, your foundation, concealers will lay beautifully and they stay put! I just love it!

I didn’t know how much glitter there are and I thought it would add on to my glow but instead it makes my flaws (pores, scars) stand out more and I broke out several days after using. I do not recommend to people with acne scars and enlarged pores and sensitive skin which is the reason why I invested in a more expensive primer than I usually can afford. Also even after double/triple cleansing (oil, foam, wipes) I am still left with glitter sparkles stuck in my pores and it takes extra 15 minutes to wipe it off my face than usual. Overall I am so dissatisfied with this product and it did not meet my expectation. I wish I can return but I don’t want to pay for shipping which is also something I am additionally disappointed about with such a reputable brand as YSL. So worth the price!
30 September 2022

I tend to avoid silicone-y primers because they don't tend to play well with my water-based foundation. They end up pilling a bit or smearing or just generally making my foundation look awful. Except this one doesn't do any of that! It glides on so smooth, it really blurs my pores (my cheeks look like the surface of an orange!), and best of all it doesn't irritate my skin. I end up with the softest-feeling, glowy without being wet-looking skin. My water-based foundations play really well with it on days when I wear them, but I really love how my skin looks when I use just this with a bit of translucent powder to set it in place. Don't let the gold flecks put you off, they don't make your face look like a disco ball at all. I highly recommend this product.

silicone & gold leaf doesn’t = “hydrating primer”
9 August 2022

I think this would be best suited for people w dry skin & textured skin and those who like silicon based primers.I’m not one of those people, and I should’ve read the ingredients like I usually do, but oh well. This resulted in one of my first returns in years, I have combo skin w an oily t zone, and I didn’t lien this one bit. I tried using it in spots where I might benefit from pore filling, but I couldn’t really excuse the price for a bottle of primer I’d use just on the spaces of skin beside my nose. There are a lot of comments calling this “hydrating” and I beg you to please realize it is not “hydrating” as in emollient, or moisturizing like the Two Faced, Milk Hydro Grip or other similar primers. It’s literally just silicon and gold leaf. Good luck!
