My love of facial oils knows no bounds, so it's safe to say I have high standards when it comes to how they perform IRL. It came as no surprise to me that this did exactly what I was expecting it to. I cycle retinols and acids throughout my weekly routine so keeping my barrier in check is of the utmost importance if I want my complexion to cope with the actives I'm using. This is lightweight enough that my normal/oily skin is happy with this both morning and night (it wears perfectly under make up), and every single time I apply it (which is daily) my skin just feels and looks happier. Think: plumped, glowing, healthy skin!

I received it in my Advent Calendar and had 0 expectations as I’ve never used vitamin D in my routine and frankly, I haven’t even heard about it in the skincare world. The serum is actually wonderful for winter but I also find it creates a really nice and smooth base for make up, so the foundation slides on really nicely. I agree with the majority of the reviewers on here - the pump is awful. The serum splashes everywhere and it’s very difficult to control the amount that comes out. I also agree that the serum has some weird smell to it, but that doesn’t bother me as much as the pump. I’d repurchase if they’d redesign the pump!

I have mature rosacea prone skin, which reacts to all sorts of triggers. Winter and central heating beng just one of them. This oil calms my skin down within a couple of days. I just couldn’t do without it. I try and use it when needed but at least 3 or 4 times a week. The smell isn’t great, but I am really wary of highly scented skincare as I can react to fragrance within a product. I much prefer a product to smell natural. It’s expensive but have managed to get great discounts on LF and keep an eye out for offers as now I have found this product, I would be gutted to run out.

Got this in the advent calendar and it’s eliminated all the dry patches I was getting from it being winter and from using actives in my skincare at this time of year. Even my heaviest moisturizers couldn’t do that. I have combination skin and it’s never made me oily. I need to test it in warmer, more humid weather on holiday, but I like it enough and think it’s improving my skin enough that I would totally repurchase this despite the price.
Have had this in an advent calendar before and loved it and more recently got it in one of the skin care edits. It gives my skin such a boost and glow. I’ve only used it at night so can’t comment on how it sits under make up or anything. Ok, so it spurts out a little erratically, but if you’re ready for it you’ll have less spillage. Unsure of the price point, though a little does go a long way. Probably just use when I’m lucky enough to get it as part of an edit or gift.
I hate to write a negative review but this has the worst pump action dispenser for a product I’ve ever encountered! The force of the spray mechanism sends product everywhere. I’ve ended up with oil drops all over my bedroom wall and my clothes. I put it down to my user error to start with but I’ve tried it four times and droplets have gone everywhere each time. It’s such a shame because I really like the product. It’s lovely to have a vitamin D product rather than the usual vitamin C ones.
Considering that this isn't a cheap product they really do need to address the pump. I try my best to push it as gently as possible but it is very all or nothing and it goes from nothing to squirting it out everywhere. You have to almost shield the pump with your hands to avoid coating everything around you with it. BUT the product itself is lovely and I can look past it. It is the texture of a very lightweight face oil but it absorbs quite quickly without sitting on the surface so you can use it in the morning before applying makeup. My skin definitely feels nourished and nice and smooth after use. I got it in my advent calendar and not sure I would repurchase at this price until the pump is redesigned.
I got this as part of the advent calendar and have been using it a while now. I like the feeling of the serum on my skin. I'm not sure if I've seen any amazing results from using it but its only early days. I've given it 3 stars because the dispenser is pretty poor to be honest, I've wasted quite a bit of product because of it. The 2nd reason is the smell, its not for me tbh. Its a strange smell and not pleasant in my opinion. I don't think I would re-purchase for those 2 reasons which is a shame because the serum itself could be good given a chance.
I received this serum in the Cult Beauty 2022 Advent Calendar and it was one of the items I was most looking forward to. It feels fabulous on my winter parched skin. I find that one pump of this oily serum is plenty to nourish my skin. I took off one star because it has the most revolting scent! Fortunately the scent does not linger, but it definitely spoils the application process. I love the effect it has on my skin, but the horrible smell removes any pampering element of the application.
Love Zelen's products the only thing that sometimes puts me off buying them is the price. But, they are 100% well worth the money. This product soothes and protects stressed skin whilst also brightening and I definitely saw this when I had a breakout, it calmed the redness down and a few days later the spots were gone and I was left with glowy skin. Definitely recommend and would 100% repurchase again!
