Bote Zeppelin Aero Inflatable Kayak 10ft

(201 reviews)

The BOTE Zeppelin Aero Inflatable Kayak is big on features, but small on size - it packs down to a super small footprint, so you can take it anywhere! This pack includes the inflatable kayak, an inflatable paddle seat, carry bag, centre fin, and pump and repair kit. All of that packs down into the included travel bag, making it easy to take on your next aqua adventure. The Zeppelin Aero includes bungees, rac receivers, a self-draining hull, and BOTE's MAGNEPOD magnetic attachment points, so you can attach your accessories and keep them secure. It has a wide base and a recessed deck, keeping the centre of gravity low so you and your gear can stay high and dry. The BVA multi-textured deck pad has anti-slip traction, plenty of cushion to keep it comfy, and it's heat-sealed to shed water. A killer portable option for exploring your local waterways.

A great kayak for an intermediate paddler.

So far so good! I had a cheap inflatable as a tester for a few years and it was time to upgrade to something more substantial. After lots of research, I decided to go with the BĹŤte Zeppelin. I needed something with a high weight limit so I could bring my dog, and the tandem version works perfectly. The stability of the Zeppelin is fantastic. I don't have great balance but can easily stand up if I need to.The only negative I've experienced, although I don't consider this a negative since it was my choice, is that I made the mistake of paddling it through a channel that was carpeted with algae. The drainage holes of the kayak acted as a sieve and the bottom totally filled with algae. It was pretty easy to clean up afterwards, but it's something to keep in mind.

I’ve owned the Lono Aero for almost two years and love it. I wanted something that both my husband and I could use at the same time without too much more of a footprint being used in our motorhome and decided on the Zepplin. It has the option of taking my Kula along, which is a big one for me. The carrying bag with wheels is just as sturdy as my Lono’s and the Zepplin itself is made with the same durable materials. I intentionally purchased the same color palette as my Lono so all the accessories that I had could be used with the Zepplin to match.. and they do! I’m horrible, I know! An added feature is the pocket and loops on the back of the seat which is handy. The hand pump in the two way position fills it pretty quickly. We ALWAYS get comments from passerby's about our Aero’s. As with my Lono, the Zepplin is a great purchase and one that I’m looking forward to using for many years to come.

Build quality is what I expected in another BOTE product, which is to say it looks stunning and feels robust. Everything feels solidly stitched and bonded together. I was most impressed with the speed and ease of setup after unrolling it from its bag. It takes less than ten minutes to inflate the deck, pontoons, and a seat and be in the water. It feels incredibly stable for a sit-on-top, and the little extra height of the seats makes for great views (and visibility). As an added bonus, the seats are compatible with some of our non-BOTE SUPs, so there's an added value if you already own other inflatables. This was a smart purchase this year to be able to get more time out on the water without having to store 12+' of kayak.Make sure to separate the deck from the ... MoreBuild quality is what I expected in another BOTE product, which is to say it looks stunning and feels robust. Takedown was quick (I really appreciate the deflate port on BOTE's included pump) and it went back in its bag more easily than I was expecting. And in true BOTE fashion, the bold colors are definitely eye-catching.

The good: The kayak was easy to inflate using the provided pump and was easy to carry around. It paddled smoothly and glided through the water better than expected for an inflatable. The platform felt very stable, even when encountering waves, and I never felt like I was at risk of tipping over. My 3-year-old sat comfortably between my legs for hours as we explored. Deflating the kayak was also hassle-free, and it fit effortlessly into the provided backpack with space to spare. The bad: The seat is not particularly comfortable; I found it more pleasant to forgo the seat entirely and simply sit cross-legged. I accidentally stepped on one of the backpack's buckles, causing the plastic to split, making the buckle unusable. I accidentally stepped on one of the backpack's buckles, causing the plastic to split, making the buckle unusable. While I acknowledge that this was my error, it raised questions about the backpack’s durability, especially considering I am of average weight and was wearing sandals at the time. The very bad: After the first day of use, I deflated the kayak entirely and loosely rolled it up to fit it in the back of my car. The following day, one of the pontoons would not inflate. Upon inspection, I found a 1mm hole in the bottom of the pontoon. I want to stress that the kayak was not subjected to any extreme conditions; it was not deflated on rocks, stepped on outside of the water, or mishandled in any way. The fact that the kayak developed damage after just one day of careful usage was disheartening. I have owned many $25 inflatables that have lasted season-after-season with similar activity at the same location. The Bote lasted one day.

We bought 2 of these and do really like them. Super stable. Can hold a ton. Plenty of room for the dogs. Appear well made. Love the versatility (seat, no seat, kayak, SUP). I can throw my 7 year old on with me, no issues. All that said, it’s a bit of a production to set them up and take them down. It’s not hard. It doesn’t take terribly long. 5 minutes to inflate/deflate once you get everything out. But it’s not a get there and you’re ready to go situation. And definitely not just a hop out and leave situation. And I find that it’s pretty difficult to get all the dirt and sand off and out before repacking. What we’ve defaulted to doing is: leaving them on the shore to dry for a bit before it’s time to go (have to factor the extra time for such in since they’re going ... MoreWe bought 2 of these and do really like them. This works okay if you’re packing up on the grass. But if you’re on sand or dirt, they just gets all dirty again while folding up. As a result, we don’t tend to put them back in the bags after we use. We just throw the whole mess (loosely folded) in the back of our SUV, unload on our grassy lawn, clean them up, let them dry and repack there. Sometimes it feels like.. a lot. But, they do allow for transportation without racks and take up less room for storage. So I guess it’s a give/take.I also don’t really care for the white deck pad. It is much lighter in person than in the pics and was instantly stained/dingy looking after a couple uses. All that said, we will probably purchase a 3rd so that each family member had their own.

Pleased with Bote purchase

Our Zeppelin Aero tandem kayak is everything we hoped it would be. Durable, easy to inflate (and deflate), and stable on the water, we have kayaked several times with it now. Each trip has been a pleasant paddling experience. We really like the compact deflated size, which makes transportation (in a car trunk!) and storage easy to manage for those of with small space requirements. Setup gets easier each time, as we have developed a system that gets us on the water in as little as 15 to 20 minutes after arrival at the launching area. Tracking is straight on rivers as well as on more open bodies of water. The Seafoam color does show dirt and mud, but washes up clean after a light washing with mild soap and water. Overall, we feel it was a great value for the price.

The first week I had it I took them out on it. We did one chair and the kids were so little they all 3 probably weighed what a human weighed. We were all under weight limit and they sat up front just loving paddling around. 10/10. I am best aunt.Had an adult friend come with me another time. She was very impressed. Very happy customer

I purchased the Zeppelin Aero 10’ and I have to say I’m super impressed with the product. I have taken it on a few day trips and a 3 day trip in the Adirondack Mountains in New York. Transportation, setup and break down are extremely simple and take no time at all. On the water it does a pretty good job, and tracking is very good. I would recommend this product for beginners and amateur paddlers. It’s great for someone who wants to do day trips and I would say at most 3-4 day overnighters, but no more than that. I was able to fit a 35 liter yeti cooler, 38 liter backpacking pack and 2 waterproof bags filled with clothes. The kayak handled it with ease. So all in all I’m super happy with my purchase, the kayak is well built and I feel as though it should last along ... MoreI purchased the Zeppelin Aero 10’ and I have to say I’m super impressed with the product. I tested the kayak on July 4th 2023, (yesterday) in the Miami Coast. Biscayne bay. Wow! The stability of this boat is outstanding, is well made and the paddles which I purchased apart, are light and powerful. I recommend this to any people who wanted to start kayaking and relaxing without the worries of a hard shell kayak. Approximately at 6 pm two children were alone in a kayak made of plastic, and the current had them against the mangroves, I had to pull them with my inflatable kayak and I got them out of trouble. This boat pulls a double kayak made of plastic that weighs twice as much than mine! Please don’t let your children alone in any kayak:(. Excellent kayak! Taken it out in both tandem and solo mode. Very stable, easy to stand up and no worry of it tipping which is great since I am often carrying birding gear. Lots of room on the deck to carry things, even when paddling tandem. The seats are comfortable and the height is great for visibility and help you get nice paddling strokes since the boat is pretty wide. I do recommend having adjustable paddle length since it’ll need to be longer than what you’d use on other kayaks. It seems to outperform a lot of other inflatables and it tracks really well. The tracking fin is important if there’s any wind because of how high you sit.My wife also wants me to mention how much she loves the cooler that comes with the package.Really great purchase for us and I would absolutely recommend for anyone who wants the versatility of tandem/solo and wants to be able to kayak without the storage space for a hard shell.
