Taking everything that was learnt on our Volvo Ocean Race winning Isotak range, the latest OFS800 version of Zhik’s offshore gear is the culmination of years of testing with a no-comprise brief. At the heart of Zhik’s new OFS 800 range is eVent Fabrics technology creating a multi-layer laminate material that is both resilient, waterproof, durable and highly breathable. Offshore is unquestionably the hardest specification of sailing gear as it needs to be able to stand up to brutal ocean sailing while also being breathable and light enough to cope with high intensity explosive bursts of activity. The OFS800 Jacket is cut for offshore sailing with additional coverage and a slightly more relaxed fit for layering. The high cut collar, face shield and hood are all designed to work in unison to provide excellent protection, adjustability and visibility. Durability has been engineered into the jacket with 500D abrasion resistant panelling in the lower back to protect against harsh decks, primary front zip reinforcement to protect against stanchion wires and anti-corrosion YKK Vislon zippers throughout. Additional protection is provided by the outer cuff closures and flexible waterproof neoprene inner seals while photoluminescent (glow-in-the-dark) Reflexite reflectors ensure you can be seen in any light.
