Love itThe only thing my husband said was that he would have liked it if the hood could clip half open.He recommends it to everyone. Such a cute lil thing. Fits nicely in out camper trailer and is big enough for our family of 4.

I'm pretty sure this model was designed by the marketing team only to sell accessories. It is, at best, a mediocre BBQ with some really dubious design choices (regarding the lid and grease trap in particular).My particular unit had a sticky thermometer needle, large cold spots on the grill when cooking lid up, and massive variance in the lid down temperatures. These are the reasons I ultimately chose to return it.The grease trap design is disgusting to have to clean, gets stuck if you even think about twisting it in, blocks movement of the lid, and it has a rubber seal that is always falling off that's a huge pain to get back on. The disposable foil tray design that all the other models use is far superior (but the lid gets in the way of using one on this model)Cleaning the lid properly is impossible without disassembling the unit (requires sockets and a wrench to get it off), and it will drip grease all over whatever the BBQ sits on. Cleaning the bottom requires a screwdriver to remove the heat shield, and even then there are lots of nooks for grease to hide in, good luck getting it all out.Cooking results were terrible (both lid up and down) due the fact that it wont maintain a consistent temperature, which might have been easier to avoid if the thermometer worked properly. I'm pretty sure this is due to the vent size/shape/location in the back, which in turn only appears to exist to allow the lid to open while still keeping the fancy front control box shape.General fit and finish is sub-standard considering the price, with minor inclusions in the paint that will almost certainly cause chipping/peeling down the road (not covered by warranty), the plastic pieces on the locking mechanism had sharp flashing left on them from manufacturing process - care should be taken to not cut yourself. The stand is stable enough, but looks and feels cheap.All credit to BBQ's Galore - they accepted the return of my Ziggy for a refund and I was able to purchase something better, but I cannot recommend buying one of these. I'm much happier with the Weber Q1200 I replaced this with.

Very happy I bought bbq & cover for my husband's birthday., to replace the same type bbq.He had the BBQ for 6 years, no cover and needed to replace .Essential to get a cover, will last longer.

Fabulous product with great versatility

I absolutely love my Ziggy portable. I have used it for many things including taking to work on the back of my Ute and using it as a portable oven for cooking pies, wedges, oven fry chips to using it camping along with using it at home. I have cooked roast pork, whole chickens as well as a conventional barbecue.It's amazing how it maintains such a high temperature and never struggles to cook meats that need high temperature to sear etc.I love the convenience of being able to take the plate out and put it in the dishwasher to keep it clean.Barbecues galore are really great to deal with and I will gladly go back there and buy another ziggy.

Gets too hot!

This bbq is ok not fantastic. It does light well (first time, usually) and it does get hot! Too hot, and this is the problem. If you want to use the bbg with the lid down it gets too hot. The temperature gauge goes into the red zone very quickly even when on the lowest setting, forcing you to turn the bbq off to let it cool down. A cook ends up heating and cooling the oven all through the cooking process. When reading the instructions it does warn against this overheating. I assumed that because it had a thermometer it was able to stay within a specific heat range, but this is not the case.On the positive side, with the lid up it seems to work as you would expect.

Good product but certain features and extra costs let it down a bit

We purchased the Ziggy portable for a light weight compact portable barbecue to use for our dinners as well as cooking for smaller groups of people. In this respect it works really well. Good heat, in built thermometer, and optional extras make for a versatile tool. It works well for my wife and I but we cooked for a bbq of six and it was churning food out quick, you just need to batch cook and strategically cook items so people can eat while the next batch is coming. Additionally the design makes it resistant to wind and is nice and compact so it fits in my garage. However a few things leave a bit of disappointment:1. Additionally ( though the instructions say this) don't tighten the grease trap too tight or it wont come off again easily.2. It only comes with a full length grill, not a half grill, so if you want a half hot plate, you need to buy another half grill to run both which is an added expense, kinda annoying when you just spent ~400 dollars on a bbq. Also when you buy the cast iron half plates, there are no cleaning instructions which would have been welcome.3. The portable legs are OK, if you take the BBQ everywhere it might be handy, but if you're carrying it to your cooking spot then back into the garage, it's a fairly average pair of legs, kinda flimsy and shakey, you could buy a table from the green shed for the $70 cost. Additionally, the security leash thing for the gas bottle only works with 9kg cylinders not 3.5kg cylinders.Overall a good product and I'd recommend it so long as you pick it up at the right price.

Loving our new BBQ

Love it! Our first BBQ. Perfect size for our small balcony, easy to assemble and looks great..we bought the flat plate as well which is a must, the stand and outdoor cover. So easy to clean too! BBQ ready all the time.

Ziggy Ziggsational

Great little Barbie and even better with the ‘no mess’ aluminium, reversible grill plates. We’ve had a session cooking for six adults and the Ziggy was just big enough.
