I bought this too use so my older dog (13 yo) could get up on the grooming table. It's the perfect height for this. But whether it works for you or not depends a lot on where you will use it. It is very light in weight. Therefore, if it is too be used by larger dogs like my golden retrievers, you need to have it pushed up against something so that it doesn't tip over. It would work fine to get up on a bed, for example. But the grooming table is open underneath so if I place it on the side of the table there is nothing to keep it from tipping when the dog jumps up on it. I'm trying to rearrange the table and associated furniture so that the stairs can go at the end of the table rather than the side. On the end, the legs of the grooming table are narrow and have a ... The x-small had the right spacing and great cushion for our nine month old mini-Dachshund (11 pounds). For the couch, it works perfect, he walks or runs up/down the stairs with ease. Unfortunately, we wanted this for our bed, but it is far too short; the stairs only come up to the boxsprings level leaving about a foot from the top of the stairs to the bed. This leaves the small version unusable for the bed.Du'e likes to chew on the zipper but that was easily resolved by wrapping packing tape around the bottom stairs. All in all, great for a couch, not usable for a bed.

Not bad, but not perfect. I bought these stairs for my 15-year-old, 60 lb dog to be able to get into our bed easily. We already had a different type of staircase for her, but it had plastic on the sides and stair edges that would cause her to slip if she wasn't super careful. I upgraded to these, which are much better for when she tries to enter them from an angle and also have slightly wider steps. However, there are two main things I'm not super fond of:- They're a little too squishy and unsteady. If she steps too close to the edge of the step, it gives way and makes her paw slip off.- Could use a material with more traction, especially as it relates to the squishy issue that makes her paws slip. I think I might buy some grippy tape to line the step edges with.

My cat Ivan is turning a spry 19 years old this year. More often than not he doesn't act his age at all, gets the zoomies and chases the laser pointer like he isn't a day over 5. However, some days he zooms a little too hard and his arthritis flares up and he finds it hard to get onto and off of the furniture. I was trying to find something to make it easier for him and found these stairs and decided to give them a try. I got one small set for the couch and one large set to help him get onto my bed. He loves them! They're really well made with thick foam, so I don't have to worry about them falling apart or collapsing. Ivan now uses these exclusively to get onto and off of both the couch and bed and I've noticed a huge change in him. He moves so much better now that ... I ordered the 4 step stairs. I have a Papillon and I wanted her to be able to look out the window when we come and go. She isn't able to jump up on the sofa or ottoman to look at what is up high. When she was younger she would jump up on the sofa and lay on the back of it and watch me cook or just look at what all was going on from above. These stairs are sturdy and she is able to get up on the top and look at everything. Now I do think the step part of the design is a bit narrow. But this serves the purpose for her. She can see what is going on high rather that just her little eye level. The stairs came in a big nicely packaged box and all I had to do was place 2 styrofoam steps in the zippered compartments and "TADA" together. I am please with the manufacturing ... The stairs came in a big nicely packaged box and all I had to do was place 2 styrofoam steps in the zippered compartments and "TADA" together. I am please with the manufacturing and material. Once I got the stairs together I sprayed it down really good with Scotchguard. It looks nice in the living room also. The color I ordered is brown. After spending countless hours looking for something for her I found these stairs and I am glad I purchased them. When I get a chance I will add a few photographs. All in all this is the one that had all of the correct measurements I needed for her. She loves being up high again and it makes my heart smile seeing her in the window looking out for us when we come and go. Good-Luck :) <3
The steps are soft material but sturdy foam. You can remove the cover to wash it too. My 2 little fur babies have never used any of the other stairs I got them until now. They love these and use them all the time. It helps my smallest with her arthritis problems getting up and down. If these ever wear out I will buy them again. I wouldn't recommend them for dogs over 30 pounds unless you get the bigger set. I am happy because my fur babies are happy with these stairs.
I love Chewy; they are fast and well stocked. I ordered this step because my doxie has developed arthritis in her back hips and doesn’t like stair climbing. After I ordered, I read (duh) the reviews that said how dogs avoided the step due to its soft, squishiness. As predicted, my dog would not use them. After thinking about it, I removed the top foam piece that actually comes unattached, and extended the first step with it. A pit several self-stick carpet tiles on it and now my dog will use it! So, it’s not the foam as much as it is the size of the landing of the steps. Given more area, they are less hesitant. It doesn’t look as nice, but it works now. Please let the manufacturer know. For almost $70, I wish it could have been perfect.
Our 15 yo Cockapoo was whining when she wanted to jump up on our bed which has a very tall mattress and from her view was very intimidating to try to get up on her own. These stairs are great for her to be able to get up and down without any problems. I received it pretty quickly. I was concerned about the foam having an odor but there was none. The color is great... The brown works great with our color-scheme in the bedroom, and the light-colored stairs are easier to see in the dark.If there is one thing I wish I could change -- I would love to see deeper steps (maybe from the 8-1/2" to at least a 10") or at the very least a deeper step on top step -- maybe 10-12". When our pup is looking down at it to get off the bed, it takes her a bit to get her nerve up to ... When our pup is looking down at it to get off the bed, it takes her a bit to get her nerve up to step down. I feel that if there was more of deeper top step, it would eliminate her fears. That's the reason I took a star off my review.
I literally never write reviews, but our little guy loves this thing so much I couldn’t resist. We have a 6 month old French bulldog pup, and he loves hanging out with us on the couch. He’s also very independent so we wanted to give him the option to come and go as he pleases. We tried many different stair cases, ramps, plastic, wood, etc. nothing worked well on our hardwood. Either it slipped or Marcel couldn’t clamber up. This is by far the best. It stays put against the couch or bed. It’s easy for him to hop up and down, and sometimes he loves to just use it as his little throne. The option to take out the top stair or put it back in is an added bonus. Sometimes it even doubles as a foot rest for us!I could not recommend this more. Great for hardwood floors, ... (We got the medium size for our 15 pound Frenchie pup, had to take out the top step to start, but I’m sure he will grow into the full thing).
I was worried that my slightly lame pooch who was having trouble getting on and off my bed could learn to use the stairs. After two tries with treats as incentives, she was happily going upstairs; it took her half a dozen tries going downstairs before she was confident using them. I no longer worry about her injuring herself getting up or down.CAVEAT: Look at the slides for each "size" of stairs, and figure out if they're tall enough for your furry friends to reach the desired surface without having to make an extra leaps because the top stair is too low. I assumed a medium stair would be the right height for my little dog, but after measuring the height of my bed and compairing it to the top step of the stairs, I realized I needed a large.
