Pay careful attention to the model you're buying and whether its chilled, boiling, ambient or sparkling - there are so many variations, and the type is not readily ascertainable from the product name. Installer said this was a common problem.

Just installed the new hydro tap with boiling and chilled water. It’s brilliant and especially since it’s now one compact unit compared to a cupboard full of units prior. My teenage boys are hammering the chilled water and it’s keeping up easily. Highly recommended and especially when it’s on sale.

The unit was installed within an hour of delivery but the control touch screen did not work at all - it was frozen so we couldn't even get the 'started. Called Zip Hydro that day and we were told that they couldn't send a repair/service person for 3 weeks. Not happy! We talked to a technician at the time of reporting the fault and he agreed that it was a faulty screen. After a lot of complaining Zip brought forward the service call to 2 weeks, still not ideal. Service person contacted us and we explained the aforementioned and we asked him he was bringing the new touch screen with him and he said No. We told him that the unit needed the touch screen replaced so he changed the call day to the next day so that he could bring the new screen with him. It seemed to be working OK when he left.A week later we decided we would change the settings so that it would go into sleep mode when not used for 2 hours and also set up the ON & OFF times for each day of the week. So we touched the control panel which than displayed the temperature etc. We touched the menu symbol in the top left of the screen and nothing happened. The touch screen has frozen again. We're now waiting again for the service person to call us to make a time to come out. We can get boiling water from the tap but we can't change any settings. We have no issues with the service person who came out but the service from Zip Sydney is appalling. You can only talk to a receptionist. They take over 2 days to create a service account when you first call. I received a text and an email from Zip in error that were meant for other customers!! They don't know what they're doing!I've given a rating of 1 star because we haven't been able to change the settings etc. The whole unit should be replaced but I'm guessing that probably won't happen!!
My new, speedy gunmetal tap has replaced my nearly thirteen-year-old tap – which was still working well but I was anxious about its life span. I love having having boiling and chilled water 'on tap'! Thank you for this excellent product and service.
Have been using ZipTaps for many years now. They have been a staple in each home as the convenience is hard to match. Although expensive and can be problematic when units are 5+ years old, I can’t recommend them highly enough for the convenience and accessibility. Will continue to to use ZipTap and update / replace as required - great product!
This is our fourth zip boil and the worst to use. The new design looks pretty but requires the thumb to be placed over the safety while the forefinger presses the tap. The angle means that the wrist is now at or below the spout level. With the old lever design the wrist was always high. (try it). Using the index finger over the safety and the middle finger to press the tap is unnatural. I realise that ZIP think its an improved design, but I disagree. The cold tap is now most frequently used treating scalds.
Hopeless. Unable. or not allowed. to talk to a human being
We purchased this as a replacement of our old Zip tap and it fits in exactly the same location and is much better than the old model. It is quieter, the box underneath is smaller and the new touch tap is easier to use and just looks better. Highly recommended
We already had another boiler chiller tap which was 10 years old, and so kept an eye on the Zip. The unit was delivered and installation was very easy, the Zip installer was fast and efficient. Make sure you measure the space under your sink.
