Really lovely wheelset, from a top name. May not have all the fancy "tech" of Zipps higher end wheels, but come backed with the same warrany. Made in Taiwan, by SRAM adds some measure of comfort about safety and reliability too. Clearly aimed to take back market share from value wheel brands where my money was going until a read up on these. At the end of the day, the replacement policy landed the sale. Sure, they could be another 2mm wider internally, but if you've ever done something stupid like close a car door on your fancy carbon wheels, you'll understand quickly why a liberal replacement policy is handy.

I was a bit skeptical about hookless rims, but as these are for my gravel bike I would be running much lower pressures than the stated maximum. They have been performing brilliantly for the months I have been using them, the hubs are smooth and the freezing sound is a nice happy medium. Not too loud but not silent by any means. A bit of grease in there could make them almost silent if that's your preference. The inner rim width is perfect for high volume tyres, which went on the rims easy with no levers. Tubeless set up was easy. Great looking and performing wheels. Very happy. Only negative would be that the engagement isn't instant and can be feel a little sloppy compared the the 54t Ratchet on my dtswiss hubs, but it's not really a massive issue for me.

I would struggle to recommend these wheels as an overall package. Initial tubeless install was tricky. Panaracer Gravel Kings just would not seat. In the end I needed to add another two layers of rim tape. Once that was done, they seated fine and held pressure well. My big issue is the hubs on these wheels. They're rubbish. Every time I take off the back wheel the hub just pops off! Yesterday it spat out all three pawls and I had to re-assemble the whole thing. Looking online and speaking with Sigma, this is a known issue. With some finesse it can be put back on with a very fine hex key. Worst case though, you have to take off the cassette to re-assemble. Bought these wheels on a fabulous offer, ready for a new build.Thet appeared perfect, so disposed of the packaging. However, when I came to build the bike I had noise in the rear hub. There was play in the axle in the rear hub bearings. I would have returned, but had disposed of the box. I raised a ticket with Sigma, who are brill as usual. But couldn't be bothered rigmerole of returning, so replaced the bearings with new NTN at my cost. The existing bearings were very poor quality, clearly out of tolerance, and showing signs of corrosion after only a couple of rides. On the new quality bearings the Zipp 303s are now perfect. The bike looks and rolls well.
These wheels are very 'on trend' being hookless and wide rims. I am using primarily for my gravel bike, which will then double as my winter bike, with a tyre change. Because of this dual use, these wheels appealed hugely as they will work well with both 40c gravel and 28/30c road tyres. The lifetime guarantee, which is damage too, not just quality, is incredibly impressive too and class leading, particularly at this price range (that I will come onto).Installing tubeless tyres (Conti Terra Speed) was a breeze. No tyre levers were needed. The performance in side winds has been impressed. I have used 303 before and never had a problem with side winds, then moved to some Roval CLX50's, and the negative difference to Zipps in wind was very noticeable. These 303s follow other 303 and are completely unruffled in winds. The best bit though is the price. For the weight, quality (backed up by reputation and the guarantee) they are untouchable and embarrass most other high end wheels in my view.
My first pair of tubeless whels. These Zipp 303s feel really stable at speed, yet nice and lively when I'm grinding out long efforts or climbing. Even though they are 45mm profile, they hold really steady in windy conditions. I'm scared of going fast at long descendings, but whith this wheelset I feel a lot more confident letting go knowing that I'll be able to enjoy the speed and worry free about the wind. For the price you can't go wrong. They are great at climbing, they roll fast on flats and are quick to respond. Made my Trek Domane a better looking and more enjoyable bike. You can't go wrong with these folks.Thank you Mikes Bikes for the great service you've always provide.
Like any card-carrying MAMIL, I devoted far too long to the search for a new set of wheels for my Cannondale Super X! I needn't have bothered. These Zipps tick all the boxes and I will explain why.1. They are cheap. Yes, these things are all relative but at under £800 (they have gone up since I bought them), there is very little to compare in terms of quality, weight and manufacturer guarantee. Yes, you will find lighter wheels for more money but are you comparing like for like in terms of overall strength, rim depth and of course (to some degree) snob/resale value? I was tempted by the Parcours Ronde at about £250 more in price and 150g less in weight, but concerned about the lifetime warranty with a relatively small company.2. I was tempted by the Parcours Ronde at about £250 more in price and 150g less in weight, but concerned about the lifetime warranty with a relatively small company.2. They appear to be well made. Sapim CX-Sprint spokes are bit heavier than CX-Ray but also slightly tougher. Considering that Kent where I live has the worst roads in Britain, that is a consideration. If I was only ever riding billiard table smooth surfaces I would probably pay more, but having trashed several alloy rims, I'll err on the side of caution. I read a few reviews mentioning that the freehub flies off when changing the wheel. This has not occurred with me - at least not yet. I investigated hand built wheels from a couple of local(ish) wheel builders but came up against the usual issues: tied into specific rim, hub and spoke suppliers that did not scream quality; inability to accurately estimate the weight of the completed product. I am yet to find a wheel builder who will do what they are asked to do, rather than what they can/will do. Sigma redished them for the Cannondale AI offset for a very reasonable amount, although some of the other manufacturers (e.g. Parcours) offered to do this free of charge. I checked with Zipp and it doesn't void the warranty.3. They are easy to set up. The hookless design works very well with my Pirelli Cinturato Velo 26mm tyres. Used a chamber track pump to set up - each wheel took just one attempt. The max 72psi rating for these wheels is not an issue. I have inflated to about 65psi (as per the Zipp rider weight recommendation) and the tyre feel hard - pretty sure I could go down to 55-60psi without issue if I want greater comfort.4. They ride well. They are about 150g lighter than my previous wheels (as set of Hed Ardennes Black Stallion which weigh considerably more than the manufacturer's stated weight for some reason). They do catch the wind a bit but not significantly more than my ENVE SES3.4s. The get up to speed well and hold speed well. The difference is not night and day, but it is noticeable. I have only ridden them on three fairly short rides in pretty grotty conditions so looking forward to giving them a longer test soon.Anyway, these seem to be a fit and forget purchase. I hope that remains the case!
This is my 1000mile review. Great wheel set. Droped one star because;1. Some minor blemishing that looks like they have been Sanded roughly in the factory. All perfectly normal apparently according to zipp but none the less the finish is not quite as good as previous zipp wheelsets.2. Tyre comparability. Yes, hookless may well be the future. However, at this moment it limits your choice significantly until tyre manufacturers decide they are compatible. I use the pirelli race tlr which are amazing tyres, very happy. But they are unavailable basically everywhere. I am one ruined tyre away from hanging the best bike up for summer.3. The limited tyre choices are also very expensive. So no obvious cheaper Hugh miler training tyre available. Running around on race ... MoreThis is my 1000mile review. Great wheel set. Droped one star because;1. The Vel hubs for example are much much quicker by comparison.Positives stuff though, nice wide rims make for a comfortable ride and the aero profile offers predictable handling without stalling wildly in guests. Real world testing is evident here.Lifetime warranty is a big plus for me.
These were bought to upgrade the (very average) stock alloy wheels that came with a new bike. I've ridden mid-section carbon wheels before (Hunt, Bontrager) and have used road tubeless for a while, but was a bit sceptical about the arguments in favour of added width and lower pressures.Well, I was wrong: these are seriously good. The biggest difference has been in terms of comfort. Running P-Zeros at 55 psi front/60 rear (as suggested by Zipp's calculator) and the reduction in road buzz is remarkable. There has been no loss of speed at all, either. FWIW, the tyres mounted *fairly* easily (they needed a little bit of persuasion from a tyre lever, but nothing drastic) and inflated first time with a standard floor pump. Air retention so far is good; they lose 5-10 ... MoreThese were bought to upgrade the (very average) stock alloy wheels that came with a new bike. Air retention so far is good; they lose 5-10 psi/week (about standard with tubeless in my experience). In the gusty winds we've had recently, the wheels are affected, and it does need a little work to maintain a line, but there's no alarming grabbing sensation, and everything is very predictable. They're certainly better than the Hunts I've used in this regard, and I'd say on a par with the Bontragers. All in all, for less than £1k, you can't go wrong with these. They're the kind of product that make you wonder why you'd spend more.
We with the discount these wheels are the best carbon wheels I could buy. They look great are made by a leading manufacturer and are super fast and quiet. As I have skewers I had to get the conversion kit but once I had these the fitting was simple. These did cost me a extra £60. If you have thru axles then this won’t apply to you. The delivery was also spot on and I tok out the 3 months interest free option which is great to spread the cost.

Zipp 303 S Carbon Tubeless Disc Brake Front Wheel
With the Zipp 303 S Tubeless Disc Brake road bike wheels, Zipp has put a wheel set on the market for every cyclist who is looking for speed. The Zipp 303S is the successor of the Zipp 302 and is inspired by the popular all-round Zipp 303 wheels, but is just a bit more attractively priced. The Zipp 303 S Tubeless Disc Brake wheels have a low weight of only 1540 grams, despite the 45 mm deep aerodynamic rims. This makes them suitable for both the flat and the mountains. The wide rim with an internal rim width of 23 mm allows the fitting of tyres from 25 mm to 50 mm. You won't find a more all-round wheelset; the 303S is suitable for road racing, gravel riding and even cyclocross. With an internal rim width of 23 mm, external rim width of 27 mm and a depth of 45 mm, the 303S saves 10 watts at a speed of 40 km/h compared to the "old" Zipp 302 Disc, according to internal wind tunnel tests. The Zipp 303 S Tubeless Disc Brake wheels are built around Zipp 76/176 Disc Brake hubs and spoked with aerodynamic Sapim CX-Sprint spokes. The new wide carbon rims are tubeless ready, which means that you can ride with or without an inner tube. Tubeless riding with lower tyre pressure means lower rolling resistance, increased comfort and better grip.
