One of my cats, Jasper, has strict dietary needs due to various medical conditions (novel proteins ONLY, low phosphorus content), and I had resigned myself to making his food at home... then I found Ziwi! There are quite a few reasons why I love this product. It's suitable for cats of all life stages. The meats used are ethically sourced and it's perfect for picky eaters. Grain-free and low in carbs, it includes superfoods and is rich in nutrients, which is something I always look for in a cat food. It has no added fillers, the protein content is high, and it supports joint health too. I even use it as a topper for dry food sometimes. All in all, a great product!

I expect you'll see a theme in reviews here, but my poor cat has had gastro problems his whole life. Stomatitis in his mouth, allergic reactions, vomiting, diarrhea, you name it--most certainly a severe reaction to chicken. You look at most cat food on the shelf, and you're shocked to find how many use "extra" ingredients in their food--a lot of non-chicken meals have chicken additives. I'm fairly confident that we've reviewed most of the brands available to us in the US, and Ziwi Peaks is the only one that he both likes and can eat without issue again and again.It's as simple as this: they actually just use real, simple ingredients. I don't know why that's so hard for others to do, but until then, this is just stands alone as the best there is.
This food has been a miracle for my cat who was experiencing severe gastro symptoms. After spending a lot of money at the vets, and putting the poor cat on a lot of medicines, a savvy veterinarian suggested he might have food allergies from the additives in his food. I was feeding him the (what I thought) was the very best food and he was getting sicker and sicker. The vet recommended a single meat source for his allergies. I found Ziwi Lamb. It has been 3 months he has only had the lamb cat food. He is healthy, energetic, and has not thrown up. What a difference in my cat! Thank you for not putting chemicals and additives in the cat food. You saved my cat.

I am always looking for a way to transition my lone indoor kitty to a healthier cat food than Fancy Feast pate - which she loves! But - alas, she is more determined than I am. I had a list of several highly recommended foods from a veterinarian and was eager to try them. All were a bit pricier (Ziwi was a LOT pricier, but my cat deserves the best.) I must say that the aroma is quite strong and was somewhat off-putting to me when feeding time rolled around. Unfortunately, my little Sally Mae felt the same way. She showed no interest whatsoever in this cat food. She gave me that sad eyed look as though I'd tried to feed her garbage scraps. I do wish they were able to offer a variety pack that included various brands as well as flavors. It's a bit disheartening that the only cat willing to eat the "good stuff" is the outdoor stray. (not that I begrudge the little guy a meal)
My cat Spicy is allergic to chicken and poultry. We really struggled to find something she would eat because, for some reason, my cat who was born next to a garbage can is very picky.This stuff is great but expensive. I might need to take another mortgage on my house yo pay for it but spicy’s coat looks awesome. That’s all that matters, I guess.We can absolutely recommend both the venison and the lamb.
I recently had to swap my cats' food and both of them love it! I love the convenience of just scooping the food out of the can and using a cat food cover to store the rest. My cats happily eat their leftovers straight out of the fridge.Others have stated finding large bones in the food. I have not had this issue. In large white bits I've found are soft and break apart easily with no sharp edges. Neither my wife or I are bothered by the smell of the food either.Excellent nutrients for our cats and some of the best quality ingredients I could find!
The packaging has getting worst. Meats quantity has been decreasing this year. Also the lamb meat can is filled with air pockets. It wasn't as dense as it used to be. I'm loosing 1 can for every 2 cans I fed my cats. The lamb supposed to have 245 calories which 20-30 more calories than what my cats needed. The chicken version still seems okay. My cat lost a lb eating all ziwi peak can foods only. And my other cat didn't gain weight though I feed him 1 can 1/2. They were satisfied with just 1 can per cat per day. If you guys want to make money. Just increase the price per oz instead of ripping us off like this. M
