Zojirushi Micom Water Boiler and Warmer (135 oz. / 4L, Silver)

I have had mine for a year and replaced an on-demand water boiler, amazon brand, with this. Saves a few minutes every morning. I keep it at 190 degrees, hot, but save some energy by keeping the water right under boiling. Easy to clean if you have vinegar. Extraordinarily well-designed and easy to use, it has a high-speed and accurate temperature sensor. Uses: Making pour-over coffees is so nice! Making tea Cleaning bowls and glasses with hard-to-remove foods when mixed with dish soap Extremely instant noodles Use it to purify tap water from time to time since it boils the water for 5 minutes and then settles to the desired temperature. I have had a Zojirushi rice maker for over ten years, which I also love. Hopefully, this is a similar purchase.

Great Product

It is a very good quality product with good finishes. They thought of details that are not usually common in jugs for boiling water. One of them is that it dispenses water comfortably and safely, due to its height it allows to fill medium size thermoses without any problem also has a rotating disk at its base that makes it easy to turn it to dispense from any side. It is large in size with a capacity of 4 liters! It comes with a very complete explanatory manual that includes explanatory photographs on how to safely and efficiently handle the water dispenser jug. It comes configured to use 4 temperature settings depending on the user's needs and tastes, which are easily interchangeable. Another thing I can tell you is that it clearly explains the cleaning required for this type of equipment with citric acid..... As a test I disconnected it for about three hours and then checked the water temperature and it was still around 70 ºC! The only thing that could be improved in my opinion is its design, I mean it should be a little nicer and not so common, but it is not really necessary..... In conclusion I liked the product so much that I am going to give it to my son to take it to college and have hot tea every time he wants it quickly and safely.

Most useful kitchen appliance

How does any household get through the day without a water boiler? Hot water for several purposes saves time and efforts, I have two zogirushi boilers, a 3 liter one for summer and a 4 liter cd-nac40 for fall and winter when more hot water is desired. All regular needs aside, if you brew coffee and/or Japanese green teas the water boiler is indispensable. Prepping and cooking is made sooo much easier with hot water at you fingertips. These boilers are safe for young children to use. PS - I. Purchase only boilers made in japan, Buy one - it’s worth every penny! All the best to you and yours.

Necessary product for anybody who uses hot water.

This time, I bought the 3L one (previously I had 4Ls. I would have bought a 2L since it's just me but their 2Ls are all old-fashioned looking, very granny-ish). The handle is convenient. The color is a dark silvery gray. It dispenses perfectly without splashing or dripping or leaking. It does take up a bit of counter space - in fact, the base on the 3L is WIDER than on the 4L but the 4L is TALLER so you may want to double check measurements and see if your under-cabinet space will allow for the boiler if you decide you want the 4L. I highly recommend this product and will always have one in my kitchen.

Poor wuality

Horrible quality, top lid plate is made of non stainless steel, I’ve got 2 plates replaced under warranty(less than 6 months usage) and I’ve purchased 2 additional ones myself. I’ve purchased stainless steel screws from Home Depot to factor out which one’s rusting. Top lid plate rusted within 2 weeks and screws are 100% rust free. Never to buy again. Customer service states, it’s normal due to moisture build up. If that’s normal, use better material such as stainless steel.

Pretty convenient

I got my Zojirushi - Micom Water Boiler & Warmer for the camper, any time you heat anything it heats the whole trailer up. I love I can just turn my Zojirushi - Micom Water Boiler & Warmer on and in about the same time as on the stove I have boiling water for tea, soup, oatmeal, noodles like making spaghetti and it's only warm on the outside of the unit the whole trailer or house isn't boiling also. I would like a clock timer... then I could set it for exact time I need water instead of using hours as it does. I haven't had any problems cleaning it as I only put water in the unit and my water is filtered. This would have been an Amazing tool to have for middle of the night bottle making for baby with perfect set temperature and push button pouring! On Hot Michigan days it's energy saving not heating up your house or camper. And cold Michigan winters I can make a homemade batch of cocoa and it will be waiting for us when we come back in perfect temperature at the push of a button! My kids would have loved that. So it's not ( just ) hot water this will change how you cook. Oh I do wish the cord was longer it's short in my opinion, and I wish it brought your water to a boil a little faster... like a coffee maker but that use's a ton of energy so I understand. The unit is pretty sleek so it don't take up a ton of that valuable Real estate on your counter especially in a camper!

Reliable enough

Received my order sooner than expected! We had the 3.0 liters unit but due to an obsession to keep it clean, the bottom became worn out after 2 years. And after a week of using filtered tap water, the hard water traces on the sides and bottom became evident. It is emptied and wiped dry at night before going to bed. The next day is filled and used regularly; at least once an hour. It gets refilled at least once in a day. We are trying an experiment to just leave the hard water scales around and once a month try the recommended cleaner. We shall see how long it lasts. I wish the engineers would find a material that does not form these hard water traces or at least regularly find a way to get rid of them. The keys to unlock and dispense seems to be in the wrong place, ... MoreReceived my order sooner than expected! The keys to unlock and dispense seems to be in the wrong place, it seems more intuitive / force of habit to press the timer button. So, the button positions were moved. The power cord connection used to be magnetic which was easier to remove and put back. I thought it was a better engineering choice than the current one which requires more to insert it. The removal and insert at least once a day I would think in time this connection can become loose. Overall it is still a reliable unit and I picked this because it seems some effort was made to reduce the amount of known health hazard plastics / rubber used.

Very nice for those who make a lot of hot drinks!

After stopping the flow of water, you can touch the spout and there is practically no residual water on the spout, and absolutely not enough to ever drip.- Name brand. For those of you who didn't live in Japan, Zojirushi is a very tried and true brand that has been widely used in Japan for many years. I was amazed to find this brand at Canadian Tire.- Water-level is very easy to read- 'Unlock' button is a nice safety feature, which also doubles as a toggle to switch to a slower, gentler water stream.- It swivels ( if that's of any use to you )- Mag-safe power cord. The temps are written in F right on the machine, so there's no possibility of changing to C.- The LEDs and buttons are very unintuitive. You'll want to read the manual and then you'll be fine, but you'll have to teach any guests what the lights/buttons do, beyond the basic functions.

I built out a cargo van so that I could travel more and take more weekend road trips. During my cargo van build, I decided to go with a power station instead of using propane. Boiling water using a kettle and the power station was a little tricky. I’m excited to report that the metallic black 135 oz (or 4 liters) Micom Water Boiler & Warmer solved my boiling water problem. The Micom Water Boiler & Warmer uses 800 watts. This did not put a strain on my battery supply. I was surprised at how fast the Micom Water Boiler & Warmer boiled water. In our home we consider appliances part of the family—perhaps a more essential part that myself since they make life so much better and happier. Having had a Zojirushi water boiler for years and having its interior slowly deteriorate as a function of very hard water and relatively inept maintenance, we replaced our dependable retainer with a new one. One of the big reasons for the choice was the stainless steel interior, which promises to be easier to keep deposit-free.We love the new appliance and enjoy its added options and the quirky music it plays at certain times. I do wish, given the amount of hot water we use, that the tank were bigger.
