Zojirushi Rice Cooker for Overseas (10 Cups 1.8L) NS-ZCC18(120V)

The short of it, the Zojirushi "neuro fuzzy" cooker produces rice at a whole other level beyond what I have ever accomplished cooking stove top rice. My goal is Japanese style white rice, what I most frequently eat, and at this the cooker excels far beyond expectations. Not wet but soft, delicate, and just the right amount of adhesion (stickiness). Perfect Japanese rice, oh my, oh yum. And from the very first batch, with no failures to date. Can hardly wait for the next occurrence of the pop-up restaurant in my house - when I make sushi. So far I cannot produce typical long-grain rice (Chinese, Indian) but I have not tried much either.

I always like Zojirushi's rice cooker and have been using it for many years. I used to have the smallest, 3 cups one, because it's portable and easier store away. But the smallest model doesn't have steam function. This time, I picked the the 5.5 cups rice cooker with steamer function. Zojirushi always cook rice great! I have used steamer function few times already, and really enjoy the convenience of steamer too. 5.5 cups rice cooker is not very big, so it's also easy to be put away when I am not using it. I wish the steamer part can be a bit deeper. Otherwise, a great produce and always very nice designed

An excellent machine with some UX issues

I bought this about a year ago to replace the Zojirushi NS-JCC10, which I had had for more than 20 years and loved. It still worked fine, but the pan's teflon coating had worn away and replacements were no longer available; otherwise, I'd have kept it. The NS-ZCC10 is a very similar machine. It makes rice dependably and properly. It is the kind of appliance one seldom has to think about, in the best sense: you put rice and water in it (and in my case, steel cut oats), push a few buttons, and the machine does the rest, worry-free.However, a few changes in the layout and UX are (in my opinion) inferior to the JCC10. Instead of a pop-out steam vent, plug the ZCC10 has an aluminum plate (or perhaps it's some other metal) that probably offers more protection. It has to be washed, like the old pop-out plug, after each use. The cooker will not close unless the plate is in place, which means that unless you immediately dry and reinsert the plate after washing it, your cooker sits open until you do. As a consequence, letting the plate air-dry, though more convenient, isn't a sanitary option.Also, the actual buttons on this model need to be pushed *very* hard in order to work. It's not a big deal, but often it's necessary to hold the cooker in place with one hand while mashing a button with another; otherwise, the cooker will slide along the counter due to the pressure of your finger and hand.The old model's timer button, if you pushed it after setting the timer, would display the current time. The new model doesn't have this feature. Once you've set the timer, the display will only show the finish time to which you've set it. And the display only shows 24-hour "military time," e.g. 1:30 PM is always 13:30. Neither of these things is a big del, but I preferred the older model's better array of time displays.I'd also add that, while in theory it's nice to have so many settings, in practice I only really need three or four of them.Overall, it's an excellent machine that does its job well. My only quibbles are minor.

We received this Nurro fuzzy for Christmas 2021 as we were looking to replace our 15 year old small manual rice cooker.It worked great for sushi rice which is all we really make.After about 15 months of use the internal clock/timer runs about a minute every second even when unplugged.Once you start a batch of rice. It runs through the whole cycle in less than 30 seconds.So now we have had a $240 rice cooker that does not work.Customer service sent a cookie cutter response stating the warranty was covered for one year or I can mail it to an authorized service center. Every bowl brings me back to my summertime trip

I recently traveled to Japan for the first time for a conference, and became a bit obsessed with the traditional "Japanese breakfast" (grilled fish, pickled veggies, rice and miso soup). I had it literally every day for the duration of my 10 day trip. The rice I was making since coming home didn't compare to the gorgeous little pearls I ate in Japan, so I wanted to try investing in a nice cooker. From the moment I popped the lid to fluff my first batch, I knew I had something special. Even the simple act of stirring the rice in the pot brought me back to my trip, the gorgeous tack of the rice in the bowl unlike anything I've made on my own. The flavor and texture are perfect, timeless. How much are you willing to pay for great rice?

The Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker makes perfect rice every time. The instruction manual's pretty intimidating but easy enough to follow. In the package is the appliance, a serving paddle and a clip that attaches the paddle to the rice cooker and not one, but two measuring cups.I use mine strictly for rice, but it also has settings porridge (oatmeal?) as well. The chime is pretty and not annoying like on so many of my other appliances. The only negative I have is that the timer doesn't show until there's about 20 or so minutes left to cook. Multiple uses a week for 15 years and no problems

I bought this rice cooker in 2009 and have been using it several times a week since then. It has simply made perfectly cooked rice every single time since then with no problems. We cook black rice, short grain white rice and short grain semibrown rice. We also cook a mix of rice and lentils and rice with coconut milk, and occasionally other stuff. We did have to replace the bowl since our kids scratched it up, but other than that it's been a near-daily workhorse for 15 years without a hiccup.

bought for my high school student. Worth every penny! Rice should only ever be cooked like this. Whatever you do NEVER buy the substitute. Just suck it up and get the real thing. You will thank the universe. I was not a believer until my kid begged me to buy what I felt was this overly priced machine. I bought it as a Christmas present for her and she would not even let me use it lol. I saw how easy it was and absolutely perfect it comes out. Plus you never waste it because you can save it in the cooker for days! What mind blown. I first bought a cheaper one for her because I wasn't convinced before I bought this one and now I know the difference. Don't waste the money. If rice is a staple in your meals this is a must have.

[Rewarded Review] Nice Rice Cooker

So far, so good. I am a little skeptical because I had my last rice cooker for 25 years. I use my rice cooker a lot and I hope this one is also built to last. So far, it is a great machine. It is big but it is also very light. It cooks and keeps rice warm efficiently. I like that it cooks so many different types of rice. I also like the retractable cord. Hopefully, I can update this review in 20 or so years to say that I need a replacement.

I can’t imagine not having this appliance - rice cooker in my kitchen. It’s absolute time saver, keeps rice on warm safe temp. (very important against toxicity). It can be a challenge to get used to it and figure out measurements but it’s all worth it. I have yet to experience to put anything else in there but rice. The rice is tasty and fluffy (key is not to put less water than should). I even got one of these for my friend w MS since she has hard time in the kitchen and this prevents any spills and cooking on the stove.
