Zone3 Heat Tech Neoprene Swim Cap - Black/Silver/Red

Eradicated the brain freeze I was experiencing when temps dropped this winter. And so couldn't have kept through the winter without it. I have a lot of hair and so think perhaps I should have got the large as it often comes out. But when it was extra cold I wore a swim cap under which helped with the hair issue. A lot of my swim group have this hat now as it's the best for icy cold winter water. The Velcro is comfortable and it feels very secure.

Unlike the high-tech gloves and hat which Zone 3 kindly asked me to review, the wearing of a neoprene hat was to be a new experience for me and what an experience – they are super cosy! The size was perfect and the 4mm neoprene and gorgeous fleecy lining kept my head & ears toasty. I have short hair but my daughter who has very long hair and wears it tied up for swimming thought the adjustable Velcro was perfect as it accommodated those with lots of hair without going up a head size. Very comfortable and remained in place whilst swimming – I'm tempted to keep it on. With high-tech gloves, boots and hat winter swimming will never be the same again!

I was gifted this swim cap in exchange for a review. I don't usually wear a swim cap as I'm more of a heads-up, woolly hat, breast-stroke swimmer but on trying out this cap I was tempted out of my comfort zone. I opted for the medium cap, as per the size guide, and found it to be a snug and comfortable fit without feeling tight. It was simple to put on and take off due to the velcro-type fastening. I expected the chin strap to feel restrictive but it wasn't at all. The lining feels really cosy and my head remained warm throughout a 12 minute swim in 5 degree water. As with the gloves and socks I plan to take this cap for a longer (wetsuit) swim to put its heat retention ability further to the test. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cap to anyone who is more of a ... MoreI was gifted this swim cap in exchange for a review.
