Overall there usually pretty good lights it’s a hit or miss with any lights anymore.. I wouldn’t say that they last any longer than the cheaper one so I would probably prefer something a little bit cheaper than this one because this is maybe one of the most expensive I found at my store at least. If a cheaper one is at the same quality and stays around for longer then I’m going with that one.. I get these for my bearded dragons I have two of them and usually they will both burn out around the same time unfortunately few days apart so you still have to go back to the pet store within that month yay me!! Please start making your lights a little bit longer lasting than 2 months people!! Hope this helps!

BEWARE! These blow out like candles on a birthday cake! I've gone through two since November, it is December 11th today! They randomly blow out and then you have to rush to get another one not to mention these are quite pricey. Going to see if I can get a new one or refund form the store but seeing how it's been 2 weeks I don't even know if they will.

Best Bulbs for Indoor Basking!

I have found these 80 watt Powersun bulbs are the best when it comes to offering my turtles the most natural basking I can when I have them indoors. They grow smooth nice shells, shed their scutes as they should and avoid ever getting metabolic bone disease(MBD). As a matter of fact, I was able to reverse MBD is a young painted turtle rescue using these bulbs.

Don't waste your money.

These used to be my go to bulbs for their effectiveness and longevity; however, as of this year not a single bulb has lasted more than 3 months. When I buy bulbs I purchase many for my 7 monitor lizards and always ensure to have backups on hand- it gets extremely expensive and I usually save up for a while to be able to afford an order, but as of this morning every single one has faltered months before expected. They don't appear to have warranty paperwork with them either anymore. I don't know why the quality of this product has so drastically declined, but because of this I will not be purchasing this bulb, or any products for that matter, from this company again. Hopefully exo Terra doesn't screw over their customers like this.

Great potential, spontaneous quality.

These bulbs are fantastic as they provide both heat and uv. For the general hobbyist, I recommend these bulbs as a good starting point, especially for bearded dragons. The downside is the quality of the craftsmanship is extremely poor. Some bulbs last plenty of time, others break only a month or so after install. Other bulbs are broken on arrival. Extremely disappointing.

Needed for ALL vegetarian reptiles
30 August 2017

I am a keeper and breeder of threatened and endangered tortoises of Africa. I focus on vegetarian tortoises whose only source of calcium comes from the foods they eat. This calcium is unavailable to them unless they have a good, safe source of broad spectrum uv lighting available to them. The natural sun is the best source for this but as keepers, we aren't always able to provide this to them. These bulbs and the "160 watt" bulbs also available by the same manufacturer are the best to use. They provide both the needed light waves as well as a heat spot for basking to raise their body temperatures to aid in digesting their foods. Don't be fooled by the coil lights on the market. Often times, unfortunately, even some veterinarians will pass on poor and misleading information not realizing it.

Possible malfunction
17 March 2021

So...Not noone EVER mentioned that having a red eared slider kind of turtle was more than putting her in a tank of water. Nonetheless, we love our Mana! As soon as she got on her rock and started basking, the bulb went out (like within a week). Back to Petco we went! Now, here we are - going back to Petco again for the same reason. Guys, its a metal to metal outage. Soon as the lamp clamps touches the bulb, it goes bye bye. I like the exclusivity of it but she just needs to work ... as in work work. It's honestly annoying.

So far so good.

UVB and UVA in one bulb. Been using it on a timer for 3 weeks now. It holds temps great but be mindful of the basking distances from the bulb and get the right wattage for your animal and setup. No sense having to buy bulbs this spendy and have them not be as effective as you need. Plus don't forget to change your bulbs regularly to keep up the UVB as it'll still illuminate brightly but will be giving no UVB. Each brand has its own recommendations.

Blew out in less than 24 hours.I got it from a mom and pop place. They warned me it was hit or miss. I should've listened. It couldn't have been on for about 8 hours tops and boom. I went to work the day after purchasing it, came home and it was burned out

UVA, UVB, HEAT & LIGHT SOURCE

This is essential for the wellbeing of turtles. Its a uba & uvb bulb providing the absorption of calcium as well as emanates heat. Hence it is a quality bulb however the value is not up to par as in my experience they do not last. I feel I have to replace them after only a few or if Im lucky several months. Ive never tried to return them to the manufacturer as the box states a year warranty however I might in the future. I have 2 turtles so thats a lot of bulbs and money especially replacing so frequently. Otherwise I definitely recommend as finding a 3 in one bulb is a must for the proper care of my beloved turtles.
