I bought this case, thinking it would just be a cloth case that was meant to keep dust and scratches off of the unit. But when I got it, I realized that it is tough, and would protect the zoom from shock, and falls. Once I put this case on, I don’t worry about the unit being damaged, getting wet, dusty or scratched. I also love all the Velcro flaps that allow access to just what you need access too, without exposing the whole zoom to do so, many different options for attaching the zoom to your backpack, belt etc...keeping it even more safe..can’t live without it now.

Fits the H6 perfectly, the quality of finish is decent and the whole thing seems to be quite robust, so it should last for years and protect the recorder in operation.Note the accessibility to some of the buttons is somewhat limited when the case is on the recorder, but you can't protect the machine and keep full accessibility to everything at the same time.Although the H6 is firmly held in the protective case, I fear it can slide outside the case and fall on the ground when you use the ring that's provided to carry it on your shoulder using a shoulder strap. I'll probably add a scratch of some sort to prevent this. Apart from that, I'm quite happy with it.

For the most part I think this is necessary if you use an H6. I wish that this product held the recorder a bit better when all the sides are un-velcroed. It hasn't moved yet, but I feel that with the few straps holding it in that it could fall out of this case. I also do not like the fact that one half of the back strap meant for mounting this to a boom pole is held by velcro. For me I think this should just be sewn together. Overall I feel safer with my H6 having this on it for some added protection.

Perfect cover for a h6 body, much better design than others I've seen. No doubt that its going to be hard wearing and just what I needed for the zoom. The only thing is that I expected there to be some solid protection of the mic capsule. It's just a (albeit weather proof) material cover, no frame or guard against the capsule being damaged. Really thought I was getting something that would provide some sort of rigid protection. Still, it's not a perfect world, and I'm very happy with the product.

But there may be some, like myself who may want a rugged, lite protective case for the portable FIELD recorder - or maybe you're like me and just pack lite and carry multiple items to your location for me this was a downer.Truth 2- how in ZOOMs great name does the XY Mic head pop-off so easily?? Not talking a bump against an object - it's almost like an eject button gets pressed!!With this knowledge in hand, I will now pack my H6 inside of my camera bag- taking up space that I would have otherwise used for other equipment.
Well designed and built, provides access to all buttons and ports. The top part is a removable hood. Nice loop for attachment. It'll probably be easy to open the back to provide access to the tripod socket.But I can't really imagine using the H6 unit while it's in this case, unless for some hand-held field work in the rain or something. Just awkward to push buttons or turn dials through the plastic screen or flip it up (it's attached with velcro).Somehow I'm glad I have it though. But that's just me...
This case is perfectly fit my Zoom H6, as expected. Price is good and quality looks great! My H6 can easily held by a strap on my neck without flowing my H6 into a bag. I expected it can protect my H6 in light rain, sea and dirty. I have no idea about how the case can be last especially for transparent lid. Hope it can last 2-3 years.I am glad Zoom didn't include a strap as a package, I can use my BlackRapid strap easily.
This protective case for the ZOOM PCH-6 is a must buy. It gives you access to all of the important places on your Zoom 6. The velcro lets you pull the top protective cover down on the front to access ALL controls on the front. The side and back have the same access. This is just simply an awesome little piece of protective gear for your ZOOM H6. The price on it is extremely reasonable as well.
Zoom should include this. If you have to hand hold your zoom without it you'll hear every moment. Even with it you have to be gentle but it helps. It also gives you a grip to be able to hold your zoom without hand fatigue. A zoom rubber body will get miserably sticky too so this keeps the miserable stick of your hands.
so for about $30 i wish i had tracked one of these down years ago.my only gripe and a half with it, and i've been using it lightly for a couple of weeks, is that the cap doesn't accommodate the mic module, i usually keep the XY on there. the half gripe is when i put a mic on the H6 i kind of have to jimmy the velcro to keep the cap attached (so as not to lose it) by folding it back and dog-earring the back velcro to support the velcro on the mic cap..there may be other little tricks to discover with further use, and other than the decision to design this for a mic-less state, it's very useful and pretty thoughtful design to protect your tool while using it.recommend for the money!
