Replaced a 1060 Aorus windforce and is about 6cm shorter than the old card, the fans are a tad more noticeable than my old card but nothing unbearable, mostly playing Hell let Loose and Bannerlord 2 at the moment and both are now in Epic video mode, the textures in HLL are insane and likewise for Bannerlord. i paid well over the odds for the card an in normal times £500 would have got me a 3070/3060ti but my sons gpu died so he got my 1060.quick delivery although for a £500 purchase free 24 hour would have been nice.normal well packaged ebuyer delivery though(big box with lots of air pillows)!Tracking was good with a time slot given on the morning of delivery

The card is insanely powerful over my older card a GTX 1060 6GB. My only issue was I didn't check the size properly. While the RTX 3060 isn't a long boi by any means, you'd need to check the size if your case is ITX or smaller. The RTX 3060 is powered by a single 8-pin PCI-e connector so is available to all modern PSUs providing said PSU is powerful enough to deliver the wattage the GPU needs. Zotac recommends a minimum of 550W for this card.Personally I can't see a huge difference between raytraced lighting compared to having non-RTX lighting options turned to the max, but having the extra VRAM really is nice when bumping up texture resolutions to the maximum. The fans are relatively quiet when alongside regular case fans. It's unlikely you'll hear this card ... MoreThe card is insanely powerful over my older card a GTX 1060 6GB. My only issue was I didn't check the size properly. It's unlikely you'll hear this card moan over the noise of basic case fans, unless you have expensive noise dampening case fans.Overall this is a glorious card which I bought as GPU prices were coming down. If you own like a GTX 1080 or newer card, you'll likely not need the RTX 3060 as an essential purchase as the older cards can still run modern games at 1080p if you sacrifice some eye candy settings. But if you really do what a newer card but quiet yet can't afford an RTX 3090, then the RTX 3060 is a great middle ground card to pick up right now.

If you got a 2060 super or any 20 series. Don't upgrade, the performance difference isn't much more. Benchmarking on 3DMark about 5 times cause i was in disbelief that the scores where like that based on how its games (it games awesome) , it only has 100 to 200 points gain. This card however does handle RTX way better and smoother then a 2060 super. The cooling is way better then all the cards I've ever owned. If your going from a 1660 and below to a 3060. Definitely worth it. But if you still have a 20 series and looking to upgrade. Look at going towards a 3070 or above or just dont upgrade tell the 40 series makes its debut. The 12GB of Vram you get never reaches that amount on any game even when rtx at max, so you got alot of play room, also can play the card on ... MoreIf you got a 2060 super or any 20 series. Still gotta test Forza Horizon 5 lol. Overall, good card, awesome performance and awesome cooling. Price is still ehhh but gpus are going down so maybe wait a bit. Everything above that was said, was based off my experience playing on a 1080p, 144hz monitor. So if you use a 1440p or 4k. Your usage is definitely gonna vary. Should still work good fantastic for any application you throw at it.

Broken RTX 3060 Gamble Pays Off
21 February 2024

Scored a "For Parts" RTX 3060 on eBay, fingers crossed. Turns out, Just a bit of fixing it up and cleaning it brought this beast back to life! Performance is stellar, and my wallet thanks me (considering the repair). Not for the faint of heart: This requires some tech know-how and risk tolerance. Research, choose wisely, and be prepared for potential rabbit holes. But if you're up for the challenge: It can be incredibly rewarding! Just remember, proceed with caution and only if comfortable troubleshooting. Happy hunting

Currently over-priced and barely adequate
7 September 2021

Paying twice retail for the lowest end RTX 3 series hardly qualifies as "good value". But it's the times we're living in. This is not intended for gaming, it's for the handful of 3D apps that are dedicated to environment creation with some GPU rendering capabilities. As such, it's basically 'okay'. The card has 12GB of VRAM, and despite it's reduced support cores performs as advertised; it's no RTX 3090 with 24GB , but will have to do until I can acquire the increasingly scarce and increasingly expensive card.

Good budget Card for gaming, with few drawbacks

For the price, you are getting a 10% upgrade over the 2 year old RTX 2060 and a 71% upgrade over the 5 Year old GTX 1060 6GB. The RTX 3060 TI boast an impressive 32% gain over the RTX 3060 for usually just hundred dollar more than this one (unscalped prices). It has Ray Tracing enabled, is factory overclocked, and also features the NVIDIA Limited HashRate tech v2, which is a hardware side mining limiter that reduces this card's mining power by 30% to 50% to reduce it's appeal to Crypto Miners. For the cooling, it has two fairly large fans with multiple fins that is using a "twin Edge" branding, a common cooling setup by Zotac which they claim helps cool more than a regular two fan setup. Under heavy load, the "twin Edge" cooling setup was not very noisy, the card temp also did not reach over 70C, which is quite good for a 170W rated GPU.The card is equipped with 12GB GDDR6 video memory, which is a bit overkill to play modern games. However, this amount of memory makes this card future proof for apps and games that requires more every year. The card can last you many years with proper dust removal and maintenance.I would recommend this card for 1440P gaming, with a 120hz monitor or less. This is perfect for an intermediate gamer that wants performance, at a budget.Hwoever, You may suffer performance drop using this card whjen gaming with higher resolutions like 4k, unusually wide monitor or faster refresh rates. In the end, i recommend this card for the budget gaming station. it has a good price per performance ratio and is usually one of the most available models during the shortage. However, if an RTX 3060TI is available at a non scalped price, i would recommend getting the 3060TI for the better price per performance ratio and the future proofness of that card over the 3060.

Great card but with one issue
12 October 2021

When I got the card it worked great and proceeded to preform well. However, after a couple of days a weird sound like a grinding noise was coming from one of the fans. I took it out multiple times to find the source of the sound but could not find it. After time passed, I thought this would be a ticking time bomb for when one of the fans would stop working, so I returned the item. Overall, great card and would recommend if you want to deal with the annoying/worrying sound (if your card has that problem).

Great upgrade for those wanting a ray tracing graphics card and ample video ram
6 October 2021

I wish that prices weren't so high for graphics cards right now. I got this for around 700 and I believe it retails for around 400 but these are the times we live in. It is a huge upgrade from my old gtx 680 and it takes up less space than the 680. I have a midtower case and there is ample room leftover. The 12GB of vram is a welcome feature as Resident Evil Village uses about 6.5gb when topping off the graphics settings. The heat sinks seem to be well designed on this and the fans are fairly quiet when they are running. Overall it was a much needed and welcome upgrade to my gaming desktop.

Good Points: This item was bought as a Christmas present. I've now seen it in action and the play back is truly amazing. The reflection and shadow is excellent. Top marks.Improvement Points: As with most gpu,s at the moment they're overpriced.
