I purchased this as a media server and clone in a dual 12TB (2x6TB) setup. I also needed a few extra ports and the SD card reader so this multi-purpose dual-drive and hub is an excellent workhorse. Yes, the fact can get a little whiny, but they al are for this much data and the necessary cooling. Performance has been rock solid. All said, though, it's a pity the SSD version does NOT transfer at TB3 speeds, not even close. For a hard drive model, this is fine, but for an SSD model, look elsewhere.

I have three other hard drives that are identical to this one, but this is far louder for somer reason. I am an editor and switched over from a project I was editing on an SSD and the hard drive is unable to keep up and is dropping frames. Maybe not the hard drive's fault for being slower than an SSD but might be good to know for video editors. It's so much louder that I am considering building something beneath my desk to contain the noise. Not super happy with the purchase which is too bad because all of my other geminis have worked pretty well.
