Best dock by far -- the OWC Thunderbolt Go!

It's my third dock for an M Mac laptop -- the second one, from Alogic, was fine, but having had my first dock fail I always felt the need to have a backup dock. Not so with the Thunderbolt Go -- as OWC say, built like a tank. Having an internal 100-240V power supply, it removes the need to have an external USB-C Power Adapter on hand -- the Go is all you need.It does all the expected things quietly, Thunderbolt 4 high speed ports, 2.5G Ethernet, HDMI, an SD card reader, and USB-A ports -- with a high-power USB-C port out to the computer (cable supplied). But it's the solidity of the Go which is most pleasing -- it's a dock which isn't going top walk away.

Eliminated a bunch of dongles I haves for my 2016 iPad and makes a convenient one stop solution for all my accessory needs, only one cable to unplug and Im mobile. My 2013 MacBook I had the power cable, HDMI cable and dock cable to unplug to go mobile!

Great dock

Bought this because I used a 2019 MBP Pro 16 for work all day and my other dock was UBC-C only and was limited on the HDMI port to low refresh even though it had USB-C passthrough. This one I was able to take full advantage of 144Hz for the monitor over HDMI and have more USB ports in the process. As well put away the power adapter and not have to go crawling under the desk to unplug it if I needed to go mobile and bring it with me. I have now a 2019 MBP Pro 16 I use for work, a 2021 M1 Max MBP 16 I use personally as well as a 2019 LG Gram 17 I use personally. This this works great for all three of them and all three are able to take advantage of the 1440p 144Hz display, even the low spec iGPU on the Gram 17. I would imagine the case is made of metal to attempt to dissipate that heat more effectively, but it was still a little off putting how hot to the touch the case of the dock gets. I have it out of the way under a monitor stand so it's not a big deal, just consider that though if that would cause you some annoyance in your setup.

So far everything "just works"!
22 February 2023

I have tested this on the following three devices without any issues or required downloads or special software:MacBook Pro M1 (14" 2022).Windows PC (DynaBook) with Thunderbolt 4.Windows PC (HP) with USB-C (10 Gbs port).I have complete 2.5 GBs LAN setup at home, and the dock works out of the box, and gets iperf3 results around 2.35 Gbs (actual maximum throughput). The HDMI port works on all three devices, and I get 4K @ 60Hz without any fiddling or issues whatsoever.I have this hooked up to a Ezcoo KVM, which can sometimes cause issues with Docks, but no issues at all.The dock lives up to it's promise of a small, but very powerful, solution. Not having yet another power brick taking up space on the desk is a huge plus.Good Job OWC!

There were no setup instructions.

I figured out that if the two lights on the bottom lit up that probably meant I had it properly set up. Verified by the connected devices. But that's trial and error.
