I am a big fan of 5.11. I buy the clothing very often. I was super excited to get the shoes as I had been looking at them online for quite some time. After receiving them, I did like them and felt that the style was very appealing, but I did not like the supportiveness of the shoe. I can wear this shoe casually walking round but I would never use this shoe as my training shoe. The shoe simply does not have enough support around my ankles and the rest of the foot.

I workout daily so I needed a pair of gym shoes that would support my feet as I do weights and cardio endurance workouts. When I got the shoes the problems began to show themselves while I was walking in them to break them and get used to them. The heel support felt flimsy and loose with each step I take with at times the shoe would slip out while I was walking. The way I managed to rectify the problem was to tightly tie the shoe laces to the point I constricting my feet. The ATLAS system was a hit and a miss af times with the miss making it difficult to move my toes while running and a hit when I am stationary doing weights. I also tried it outside and I would not recommend it as a hiking or trail shoe as it not water resistant and difficult to clean when pebbles ... MoreI workout daily so I needed a pair of gym shoes that would support my feet as I do weights and cardio endurance workouts. Short review is that these shoes, for the price, were a disappointment with the durability, fit, and the value. I purchased my shoes full price from a brick and mortar store. When I first saw these shoes I really wanted to like them because they look good. The first issue that I encountered was his narrow the footbed made the shoe feel. I couldn't wear the shoe with the stick footbed so I swapped it out for another (flatter more neutral) orthotic. The second issue (the biggest deal breaker) was the overall durability of the rubber sole. I used these shoes as my regular daily shoes so nothing high speed nor high use (no outdoor use, range, or tactical). Due to the first two issues, I feel that the last issue is a result of the poor insole and the overly soft/low ... MoreShort review is that these shoes, for the price, were a disappointment with the durability, fit, and the value. I really do like 5.11 products and this is only the first disappointment that I have had with any of their products.

Got these to use as daily footwear but the fit is horrible. The heel cup is way too loose. The arch support, isn’t. Toe box seems good but the midfoot area is so loose it’s impossible to get any type of stability. These are definitely made by a generic manufacturer that doesn’t spend anything on comfort. They do look decent, but there is absolutely no way I would do any sort of training in them. Even at the discounted price I expect better comfort. I can see these fitting someone that has flat, wide feet and is overweight by a lot. Won’t be buying them again.
I bought these on sale and I am returning them for the following reasons. The removable insole is very cheap and provide very little cushion. In the heel, the cushion is way too soft and for a 5'-10" 200 person, you can feel the ground. It feels like I am walking on my heels with my toes up in the air. The arch is high which is a good thing for me, but it is positioned way too far aft. I tried putting some insoles from my Asics running shoes and it helped a little but not enough to keep. My 5.11 Pursuit Advance are so much more comfortable, too bad 5.11 stopped making them.
I love this A/T trainer design. It’s been my go to shoe over the past couple years, and whenever they wore out, I bought a new pair. However this recent pair I bought almost 6 months ago appears to have had a design change. They now squeak nonstop, and as another reviewer put it, it’s like walking around in clown shoes. I thought it would go away with time, however after 6 months I have come to the conclusion that the squeak is not going away anytime soon. I also have noticed that they aren’t as breathable as the previous design, however I’m not sure why. Overall I have loved these shoes over the past few years, but can no longer recommend the new design.
I just recently purchased a pair of these for work. I walk about 15-20 miles a day on cement surface. I’ve only had these for about 2-3 weeks and the Y shaped treads on the sole are already starting to fall apart, they are literally getting seared off my frequent contact points. The rest of the shoe has been perfect, the fit is spot on, the build quality great , and the shoe has been very comfortable on foot, but the durability is in question. I don’t think these will even last another month (the rubber outsole)…
Perfect summer shoe for my type of work climbing hills, roofs and standing on Ladders 10 hours a day.I love the the boots but sometimes it's just too hot and not nessary to wear the AT 8in. Waterproof boots with the same sole platform.Climbing slippery wet hillside with a 40 foot ladder above my head is no joke. The Cleated soles are what I need.I rather prefer the sole platform as it has those plastic shanks/plates to add more protection to the bottom of my feet standing on round rungs.Very comfortable and happy they incorporated this sole platform to a trainer shoe that has a bit of tough rubber for toe protection to add.The older I get the more important the shoes or boots meet my comfort needs so I can continue earning.I hope 5.11 starts making the plastic ... MorePerfect summer shoe for my type of work climbing hills, roofs and standing on Ladders 10 hours a day.I love the the boots but sometimes it's just too hot and not nessary to wear the AT 8in. These are very comfy and would like a non defective pair. Within a few days the top shoelace loop was already fraying. I tried to navigate the contact us page for a replacement or exchange. I purchased these during an online sale but will not use 5.11s recommend method of just repurchasing as there is now a $30 price difference now. I tried reaching out explaining this in the contact us section but never heard a response and returned them a few days later.
I am a delivery driver and need a pair of shoes that will hold up and be comfortable all day long. My A/T trainers are durable and keep my feet comfortable throughout the day. They have an awesome quality build that have not started to wear and tear accept for one area. THE SOLES! I have had the shoes for 3 1/2 months and the front and back of the soles are gone. The traction grips in the middle of the sole are also gone making hard to wear in slippery conditions. If these shoes had better soles they would be the best shoe I have ever owned for long periods of standing and running around. Hopefully the A/T trainers and all other A/T lines get a much needed update for the sole that will last.
