I got this reel for the summer this year. I was very excited although I had never heard of it. I have been using it for about three weeks now. It has some of the smoothest casting abilities I have used. And I have used it with braid. All in all it is a great caster for beginner and experienced anglers.

I've seen some really good reviews on this and I am so glad I purchased this. Outstanding casting distance. Really smooth and really quiet. First time out in the boat I nailed a nice 21 inch bass and it handled it like a dream. Drag is very smooth and reliable. For the price, this reel performs like a really high end Abu Garcia. Always loved their products and this is one of the reasons why. Very high quality, and as a bonus there isn't any plastic components!

Im someone who fishes at least a few times per week for 10 months out of the year and Im also someone who fishes on a budget, so finding quality equipment that doesnt break the bank os very important to me. The Revo X Spinning reel is the best reel that I have used that falls in to the $100 price range. It is smooth, lightweight, very comfortable to use and it has an outstanding drag for a $100 reel. I wasnt really an Abu Garcia fan so I had been using Lews or Shimano spinning reels, but when I switched to Abu the difference in quality was obvious. Im in the process if converting all of my spinning setups to this reel. Give them a shot and you will be glad that you did.

Nice reel. I own reels in this price range and its just as good. Nothing really sticks out about it. It does its job. Smooth retrieve and cast. Good drag. I'd be disappointed if there was anything to complain about but theres not. I own a couple pfluegers that are a little cheaper and just as good but i like the way this looks on my lighting shock rod so i spent a little extra.
My son spent his hard earned money at bass pro and bought a revo x 10. He got the 10 size because we use a lot of finesse lures for bass. I used to think nothing could beat Abu Garcia but I was bad wrong. He has had the reel for about two weeks. He’s been fishing probably three or four times with it and not caught anything over two pounds and the anti reverse just stopped working. He wasn’t even fighting a fish at the time. This will definitely be our LAST Abu Garcia. I no longer believe they are the best but now believe they are overpriced JUNK. I guess they don’t make em like they used to.
I bought this reel November 29th. When I received it I was very pleased with the quality of the reel and how smooth it was. I spooled it with some 10lb braid, tied on a lure, and made a couple test cast in the yard like everyone does. Man this reel was sweet! I was unable to go fishing until after the holidays so I didn’t take it out for the first time until mid January, it performed like a champ. I took it out March 3rd and it worked great the first part of the day and then all of a sudden my anti reverse switch stopped working and the reel would spin freely.Called Bass Pro to see if I could do a return and was told that I could only return to the store with 90 days, of course it had been 93 days since I purchased. Overall, this is a very smooth retrieving reel. However, on the 10 size, there is a tendency, due to the strongly backward tapering of the reel from the base of the spool to the base of the bail attachment, for the line to get wrapped and wound below the base of the spool when retrieving. Not sure if this is an issue on the bigger versions of this reel. Best to manually close, not auto-close, the bail on retrieval.
Returning. Rotor heavily biased toward base of spool, in fact the rotor line guide travels a good bit beyond the spool and wraps a few turns on top of the spool base each time (braid). I don’t see any way to adjust level wind travel or remove shims, so this pretty much makes the reel unusable. I saw a similar comment on a different site, so I’m not alone.I’ve been happy with my Revo baitcasters, but my first Revo spinning reel is a disappointment.
It’s hard to be the Revo series reels. This entry level Revo performs exactly the way Revo’s are expected to. Long casting, quick reeling, and smooth drag makes this real incredible. All of these features, and the performance should cost more than it does.
One of the most underrated reels. Super smooth and lighter than any other reel at this price point. Doesn't have a reverse switch but I never use that so no big deal. I found it cheaper at other retailers but Sportsman's price matched. Definitely would recommend.
