AWFUL WORSE POSSIBLE OUTCOME

Paid for trade person to fit this skylight. Total waste of money. Only light that came in was top 40 centimetres of two walls and cornice and that was in full sunny day. It could not have been worse a torch hanging off the ceiling would have been better. If I had seen the poor feedback before I would have told trade person NO.Biggest waste of money.

Cheap, but not worth the price.

Bought from Bunnings Goulburn, $130. (13 Dec 2021).No instructions or template in or on the box, but rudimentary online instructions are available.External section fitted to the roof okay with a bit of effort to shape it to the corrugations...with some tek screws & a load of silicone. (one star).Very, very tight fit for the ducting/reflective tube...almost doesn't fit.Internal diffuser fixings are not fit for purpose, so had to source other screws & lugs to fit to a standard gyprock ceiling (wall-mates (TM) are better.)Once fitted it improved the lighting in the pantry, so one star for that at least.I'd recommend the similar Bunnings $80 version previously stocked.

Does the job

Just installed this product in our new bathroom that doesn’t have a window. Does the job well. I think some of the people who have done negative reviews of this product may have had unrealistic expectations. It’s not going to be like turning on a light switch. It gives some ambient light so it’s not pitch dark when the doors are closed.

Don't waste your money
17 October 2022

Basically has given us a 30cm light "hole" in the ceiling, but has not lightened up the area at all, still as dark as it was. There is no reflector with this kit to send light down into the room. The prism effect is useless. We need to get up on the roof and check but it looks as if the dome has cracked as well.

Just instant landfill. Not fit for purpose.
2 October 2022

What a total piece of garbage. No more than "instant landfill" and not at all fit for purpose. Before today, we had a lounge room that was a bit too dark. Now we have a lounge room that ist no brighter than before, but we also have an unsightly bit of plastic in the ceiling.

Lit a small ensuite well although ducting kept falling down
23 March 2022

We have had this skylight in an ensuite for years now. The first time it was installed the ducting fell off the roof part of the skylight. Our access to this sky light is not a simple process so after the ducting falling down numerous times we gave up. When the ducting was attached it lit the dark ensuite surprisingly well. Unfortunately the Design to keep the product functioning was let down by poor fitting duct and duct tape that is rubbish. All we have now is a dark ensuite with a diffuser in the ceiling that constantly gets dust and muck on it from the roof cavity and not easy access to clean.

Would not recommend.

No templates so very difficult to cut correct sized holes. Mylar tube just the wrong size by 2-3 mm so major issue getting it to fit the end fittings without tearing. Roof base plate stainless steel so impossible to fit cleanly to corrugated iron roof, they say just hit it into shape with a hammer, not possible to get good fit, use lots and lots of silicone sealant.

barely a product

Have installed many brands over years of skylights. Bunnings limited to only this brand pretty much. Box said Aus design and manufacture. No instructions in box.Box says included. Download info very limited.Basic design flaws.. flanges too shallow. Painful to tape light tunnel onto. Top roof one especially. Why the mftr didnt make it eg 4 inches deep is a joke. Flange barely comes down past corrugated roof profile..Talk about a dodgy design .. to I assume save one dollar on sheetmetal or plastic moulding. I added a 4 inch extra sheetmetal ring at top to make it usable. A $190 load of rubbish. Installed it to save country area trip back into Bunnings.Plus more flyby miles doing Bunnings walk of shame Acrylic top lens of marginal thickness. nothing easy about EzyLite skylights
9 December 2022

Ezylite 300mm round kits claim to be easy to install but that's far from the truth. Its very very hard to stretch the tunnel material around the flanges and trying to do so rips the foil. Their helpline claims that instructions are in the box but that's not so and neither are they on the outside of the box or in the U tube video and, by the way, the helpline closes early on Fridays

simple to install and worked better than expected

I read all the reviews. Alot of people seemed to have trouble installing this and are disappointed with the light. To be honest they must be pretty limited with their skills and must have had ludicrous expectations.I installed this on a tile roof. I had to cut one of the battens and measure and cut a piece of timber to shift the support up.I did have a bit of trouble attaching the tube to the skylight dome (the tube is the exact diameter of the fitting lip) i eneded up using the flashing tape to secure the duct to the lip itself (taped it inside and outside the lip)This used up all the supplied flashing tape.Cut a hole in the ceiling, attached the difuser and boom.Provides adequate light as shown in the picture.Only real gripe with this product is the ... MoreI read all the reviews. I bought 75mm wide flashing tape from bunnings to seal around the tiles. And the mounting screw holes on the diffuser plate are too close to the mounting lip.. so if youre fitting it to gib board ceiling youre gonna need timber or aluminium on the other side
