Works perfectly with PS5 with a read speed about 6800mb even tho MAX is 7000mb read. Top side comes with thermal pad and a thin heat shield. You can order a plate and thermal pad online for the bottom of the m.2 there not space in ps5 slot so don’t get a fat heat sink or shield. I did order extra thermal pad for PC M.2 OR if I decided to add a shield plate for the bottom. PS5 can really heat up the room. I should of snapshot a pic of the spec after install. What’s good about installing M.2 you can play off the drive vs external drive. Hope this helps when your looking to adding M.2 to PS5.

I was going to buy a WD Black ssd but for a 2tb they want nearly 400 for the drive with the pre installed heatsink and then I found this gem at almost half the price and with slightly better performance. It only took a few minutes to install and format, and the speed it reads at is just over 6100 and transferring ps4 games is super fast. There are several gen4 ssd's you can get but unless you can find a great deal which is hard with the ongoing chip shortage, then I would really consider getting one of these as the price is good and the quality is excellent. I would highly recommend this ssd to all ps5 owners looking to increase their storage but don't want to break the bank doing it. Having used this ssd for a good few weeks I can happily say it has performed flawlessly and I have certainly noticed the difference in loading times. I'm now considering on maybe even getting a 4TB ssd but with prices as they are it's not going to be until later in the year and only if the price drops a bit. But even with 2TB I'm not filling it up so I should OK for a while, and even with GT7 and Grid Legends being huge games I've still got plenty of free space.

I did a lot of research before buying this memory expansion card for my PS5. I shopped on all the major sites before deciding this was the best card for the price (I got it on sale for $180).This card rated out in the top 10% of every card I looked at. The box said it was rated at speeds up to 7400MB/s, the fine print indicates that speed was for a PC; it said the speed for a PS5 was 6100MB/s. After I installed mine it measured an impressive 6600MB/s.I've used external drives for my PS4, and the commensurate speed between that and this card shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence,Hats off to Sony for making the PS5 so easy to upgrade. Going from 1TB to 3TBs is a blessing! There are less expensive cards out there, but you get what you pay for. I found myself having to delete one game in order to install another. Not any more!

This is the perfect SSD for the PlayStation 5! It was cheaper than all of the other brands and even had a little more than 2 tb of memory. It was easy to install and format into the PlayStation. Moving the games to the new SSD was easy and the download speeds were very quick taking a couple minutes for the larger games. Playing games off the new SSD was just as fast as using the originally installed hard drive. Would definitely recommend especially if you can find it on sale!
Got this for my PCIe Gen 4 gaming PC to upgrade the drive space. It is a monster in terms of read/write over nvme 3, and indeed performs at the advertised speeds (7200 MB/s 6450 MB/s in CPUID), making it a better value that the Samsung 980 Pro in my case. The included heatsink is ineffective for PC purposes and I would not recommend using it. Purchased a 3rd party heatsink and temps dropped more than 15°C on average during heavy loads. The wafer-thin OEM heatsink might be OK for a PS5, but could heat up fast on a motherboard without a built in heatsink or weak airflow.
Others here are writing that they have had failures with this drive. Specifically, when you start up your PC it may not be detected. Often this problems happens on the first boot ("cold boot") but if you restart the drive will then be detected. There is a fix. I originally returned one drive thinking it was faulty, and then after having the same issues on the replacement, I did some more experiments. On AMD boards, there is a BIOS setting called CSM. Disable this. This one change was all that needed to ensure this drive was detected by my PC on every boot. With that problem solved, this is the best M2 SSS available. It has immense speed, strong sustained copy, higher endurance than Samsung drives and the SLC doesn't degrade as on the Sabrent Rocket drives.
I would not normally write a review for a defective product, but because I saw another reviewer here (Corbin) mention the exact same issue I'm having, I wanted to add my info to the mix to help people make an informed decision.Apart from that issue, the drive is very fast.I also am experiencing the intermittent failure Corbin described in my desktop. Some boots, the drive is not detected by bios, while others, it's detected fine and works without issue until shutdown. This has happened twice in the last 3 days. I would normally chalk this up to a defective unit or a motherboard problem, but because I see Corbin reporting this also, it's making me wonder if there's a more common issue with these drives.I plan on exchanging the drive. Initially I was looking at either the Samsung 980 Pro or the Western Digital SN850 as my expansion storage for ps5, but then I stumbled across this drive. I’ve used ADATA SSDs in the past with mixed results, but after seeing the specs and the fact it came with a heat sink that fit within Sony’s dimensions, for the price ($145 at the time of purchase) I had to give it a chance.Well long story short is that this is the best value ps5 expansion option. Period. Unlike many drives out there, including some of ADATA’s own drives, you get access to the full 1TB drive space. Compare this to Ps5’s internal 825GB drive that only affords you 667GB of usable storage (even less after reserved space for essential system files). Or the 2TB SX8200 Pro I’m using in my own pc at the moment which is in reality only 1.82TB. This means more storage for your money. After a very quick 2 minute installation, I booted my ps5 up and formatted the SSD. Rated speed was about 6200MB/s which isn’t maxing out PCIe gen 4, but exceeds the 5500MB/s Sony requirement. No issues with temperatures thanks to the included heat sink, which makes this thing an even better value than it’s competition. I was worried 1TB wouldn’t be enough for my needs but thanks to Sony’s proprietary file compression, I was able to install my entire PS Plus library with half the drive to spare still. 2TB would’ve been absolutely overkill for my needs. All in all, if you find this drive for $150 or less you should definitely pick it up.
Please don't purchase until you read my review. I bought this drive on 4/16/22 for my ps5. It came with the heatsink and I was able to put in the Ps5. The firmware update couldn't install to the drive because it couldn't find the drive in the dropdown. I contacted support to do some of their stuff to the drive with them eventually telling me to RMA the drive.I went to RMA the drive today and the support has made every excuse not to warranty the product because of a sticker on the drive. They also wanted a serial number on the drive and because I couldn't supply it they don't want my product sent in. Their website on the RMA section clearly says to fill out what you have and not to worry about the Serial number.I don't every have issues with my technology devices failing adn I don't normally do a review but in this case I spent over 200 on a 2TB drive they won't stand up to their warranty.I purchased a new Western Digital Black drive yesterday because I already have one in my computer that works well. Please pass on this because the price doesn't help on a cheap branch because they don't back the warranty. From my knowledge they make crap products and they know it.Move on and find something better.
Does exactly what you need it to do at a better price than the big name brands. Installation was a piece of cake, took 10 minutes going slowly and carefully from removing the PS5 cover to having it formatted and ready to use. The 2TB is actually 2.05 TB, and it easily beats the minimum 5500 speeds Sony requires for a new SSD. No performance issues at all, PS4 and PS5 games play from it with without any noticeable changes in loading speeds from the console SSD. Moving files around is fast, took 5 minutes to move 500+ GB (8 games) from console to M2 storage. The only thing I can't comment on is the heatsink - I purchased a separate ElecGear heat sink and used that instead of the thin metal one that came with the Adata XPG.
