Alessi Parmenide Grater Red

My father had bought one of these cheese grater about twenty years ago in an airport in Italy. It went missing from his kitchen about two weeks ago. He was very disappointed and upset that it was gone. I went on Google and after looking through dozens of stores and hundreds of cheese graters I found it on Perigold. I was excited to see it. Although it isn’t the same color ( his was see through brown), it is still see through. I had it shipped and this the pic he sent me last night with a big THANK YOU. I can’t wait for dinner next Sunday.

Too big for my hand. Doesn’t work very efficiently. Just taking up space now in my kitchen drawer

My favorite cheese grater ever! Bought one in Italy years ago, lost it in a move, found it days before this one arrived. It's so well designed for form and function. I set it out on a plate with the block of cheese next to it so everyone at the table can grate their own fresh Parmesan or Romano. Or you can grate before the meal (if you don't want everyone touching your cheese) then everyone can shake from the container. It's comfortable, convenient, easy to clean and it's sooooooo cute, just like all the other Alessi products.

Do absolutely what she's supposed to do

Works well and looks pretty. The cheese is finely grated and can be served directly in the grater at the table. Simply sprinkle from the grater onto the plate. Done. Only the disassembling for washing up is difficult. So we leave it mostly, which also works.

Elegant and effective

An elegantly simple way to grate and serve Parmesan that works really well, no downsides and expect this to last for many years. Note that the black body is very slightly translucent, it looks a solid black in the online photos

Gorgeous item

I bought this as the JL version wasn't in stock. It is gorgeous and no doubt much nicer than the basics first. Super sturdy plastic and efficient grater. One small point though, you can't use it to store the cheese once grated so loses a star for practicality

Great concept

Great idea. However the grater is not we’ll balanced. It frequently falls over and traditional graters do a better job. But I do like its storage capacity. All in all, I expected more from Alessi.

Great design and good function

I'm very happy with the grater. The container is very stable and feels valuable. I really like the fact that the grated Parmesan can be poured directly from the grater. She cuts a fine figure on the table, too.

Ideal cheese grater

The cheese grater fits comfortably in the hand and is practical to use. Equally wonderful for lemon or lime grating.

Practical and beautiful...

The Alessi cheese grater is quite small compared to other products and therefore fits very well in the hand. The grated cheese always ends up in the drip tray. A very nice product. But what the product pictures do not show - the shell is partially transparent.
